I think the high belt is to make her legs look longer. She's quite short, so I'm thinking it's one of those style tricks she's deployed over the years.

I think Meghan's hat is brilliant - agree with the PP who compared her outfit to a Suffragette heroine. I liked Kate's military style coat too, I'd like something like that for myself (but maybe with less unfortunate tassles )

Nothing wrong with a few tassels but I would have liked just braid.

I'm not a fan of Meghan's hat, it looks much less formal than everyone else's.
