It's certainly appropriate for the occasion in my eyes. It's a big black dress with buttons. I think it straddles the day-to-night brief quite well.

It's just matronly on her. But there's certainly nothing wrong with the actual dress.

Horsemad · 10/11/2019 09:02

Yes, matronly is an accurate description.

BlingLoving · 10/11/2019 09:17

I think Meghan outfits don't always photograph well. I am, admittedly, much bigger =, but a simil body shape and I often feel like I look good when leaving the house and then see photos.... and dh has to reassure me for hours. And I noticed on the Sa tour that when I saw video she always looked better than in stills. She photographs better when wearing her sleek, suits style clothes.

And if she is pregnant, her dress is not "flaunting" it. For pete's sake. She's probably trying to hide it if she is but short of wearing a sack cloth, it's not going to happen. Between her body shape, age and the fact that it would be a second baby...

MoreProseccoNow · 10/11/2019 09:24

Meghan's make up is immaculate as ever. She looks radiant.

There's a lot of that heavy jacquard material around the waist, which isn't flattering.

It must be awful having all the speculation on whether you are pregnant or not.,

itswinetime · 10/11/2019 09:29

If it's about how many people you lost in war then why do all the men only wear one? Surely if the queen lost five family members so did her children? Anne only had 3, Charles, Edward and Andrew 1. It could be about the different branches of the armed forces I guess but again why do only the women acknowledge that as the next king surely Charles at should too, I can't see why Kate and Anne would and Charles and William not. I thought maybe it was seniority thing but Camilla only wore one...so I guess it's just a style choice so it doesn't matter but I don't like unless there is a reason it's just competitive poppy wearing to me which is silly unless there is some meaning I don't know then 1 is enough.

And I thought the branches were Air Force, Navy, Army, Animals and civilian but I maybe wrong I didn't think women had a branch as they can serve in any but animal seems to be one I made up so 🤷🏻‍♀️.

Megan's outfit was completely appropriate. I don't think it was the right cut for her the heavy fabric pleated like that wasn't a flattering cut but it's a Remembrance service it's not really about that.

Alwayscheerful · 10/11/2019 09:31

Something about Meghan dress reminds me of Anne Boleyn and yet the neckline is not Tudor, perhaps it is the pattern.
I rather like the fabric, I think she looks splendid but it's not a flattering dress it is more of a costume.

MrsGrindah · 10/11/2019 09:50

I’m not usually a pregnancy speculator , it just struck me that she’s worn two outfits close together than give her a heavier look around the waist.

Hi liked her dress but it seemed too big for her I thought. I’m still traumatised by Kate’s tights

BigGreenOlives · 10/11/2019 10:14

The DofSussex has just had a baby. She doesn’t have to try & look thin. Being an adult woman means dressing appropriately, which she does, not always looking very slight. She is wearing a dress she likes which is in a dark colour, the other day at the Abbey she had a dark coat on. It really doesn’t matter whether her tummy is flat or not.

ElspethFlashman · 10/11/2019 10:22

I don't think she's pregnant.

I love her figure and really hope she keeps it as is. I find Kates figure to be a bit intimidating but Meghan looks lush.

Gooseysgirl · 10/11/2019 10:28

I think Meghan looked gorgeous lady night, although I agree the skirt was a bit full. I don't think she's pregnant. Kate HmmI just can't get excited, boring outfit and for the love of god why the barely black tights!!!

Gooseysgirl · 10/11/2019 10:29

*last not lady

peridito · 10/11/2019 10:29

Well ,not that I have any credentials for commenting on style

I liked Kate's headband as I cannot bear hair on my face and twitch when I see it on others . I think it created a clean simple look in keeping with the unfussy dress . Plus ,who knows ,maybe it meant less work on her hair which she wasn't feeling up to .

Meghan's dress - mmm ,I agree that her clothes often look better in videos than stills .Maybe this effect is known by Kate and a reason behind her choice of starkly simple clothes ?

I liked Meghan's dress and particularly loved the material though I agree that the style and bunched fabric created a bulky look around the waist .On someone so petite it gives a silhouette that isn't fashionable .

Good on her if she doesn't mind that .

TipseyTorvey · 10/11/2019 11:00

Ooh I love Kate's military coat!

Gooseysgirl · 10/11/2019 11:06

I really like Jo Swinson's coat.

mbb1 · 10/11/2019 11:11

Did boris just lay his wreath down the wrong way round?

paradyning · 10/11/2019 11:11

Nipple tassels.

paradyning · 10/11/2019 11:14

Love HM's hat.
Jo's coat looks really nice. And her hat really suits her.

QueenOfTheAndals · 10/11/2019 11:14

Better photo. I prefer this look to last years Sally Army one. The hat is quite similar to the one Meghan wore the other day. Philip Treacy again?

No sign of meghan yet.
I like à Kate’s coat. The frogging is good. The tassels are unfortunate.

All those hats looks great. I really don't like Kate's coat though.
Love the shape of Cam's

Kate looks so elegant-as if she's about to ride side saddle 200 years ago! Love her hat and veil.
