Neither of them have their natural hair @WineOrGinOrBoth, one is extensions and one a wig

WineOrGinOrBoth · 08/11/2019 17:17

Shows I should pay more attention.
Blush

However, Megan looked amazing with that make-up - I too wonder does she do it herself (amazing if she does with a tiny baby too)

Why is it amazing that a woman can put on make-up and also have a baby in the house - and a team of staff?

frugalkitty · 08/11/2019 17:44

I'm not too bothered by long hair but I hate it when it looks stringy and ratty. Even on little girls, I just feel an itch to give it a good cut. Long hair looks amazing if it's cut well and in good condition. Personally, I can't cope with my hair past shoulder length because it's so thick.....if I was a a Duchess with staff though I'd probably grow it (and have someone wash and blow dry it every morning, bliss!).

Not that what I think matters, but I'd say Meghan's hair as it is now is too long as it swamps her tiny frame. I agree with posters who say she suits a bun, she has such a pretty face and profile that having her hair back really suits her. I also agree that Kate suits more depth in hair colour, and no one does an up-do like she does, I love the intricate buns etc she has with the pleats and tucks. It must be one of the best bits of being royal, alongside the gowns and jewels says she in jeans and wedding ring

UrsulaPandress · 08/11/2019 18:51

Who is wearing a wig?

QueenOfTheAndals · 08/11/2019 19:09

I don't think Meghan wears a wig. Extensions on occasion possibly - it looked a lot fuller yesterday than it did when she visited the military families the day before. Same with Kate's hair yesterday compared to say, when she went to the Aga Khan Centre.

Or maybe their hairdresser is just a demon at wielding a hairdryer!

Wasn’t the comment in reference to both duchesses not just Meghan?
Not the TOWIE one, no

It was my comment and yes, it was directed at both duchesses.

IfWishesWereFishes · 08/11/2019 19:23

If I was rich top of my list would be someone to do my hair every day. I find it so boring and I'm rubbish at it.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 08/11/2019 19:32

It may be the fault of the stylists rather than the duchesses but there seems to be more and more in the way of make up, hair and lashes being piled on. Neither of them need or suit it, imho.

I've posted upthread how pretty Meghan can look when she is more natural, and I think Kate too looks better with a lighter hand.

If you don't like the TOWIE comment I'll happily take it back, but I think the over glammed styling isn't doing either of them any favours.

Lady Louise Windsor celebrates her 16th birthday today

How come she's not Lady Louise Mountbatten-Windsor?

Royal style: it's leather skirt season!
FiveTwoFaster · 08/11/2019 19:44

She is Mountbatten-Windsor officially but I expect they just curtail it to Windsor as they may not feel they need to keep their double barrel to feel grand!

QueenOfTheAndals · 08/11/2019 19:48

Tbh I didn't actually realise she was M-W until Eugenie's wedding.

Ifwishes I've said on here before that if money was no object I'd have my hair done every morning and clean sheets to get into every evening.....I can but dream Grin

JaimeBronde · 08/11/2019 20:09

frugal me too Grin

Changing subject has your Elemis arrived yet? Got mine today & I love it! Thank you for steering me towards the rose version.

MotherofPearl · 08/11/2019 20:34

I think SWFM's hair is looking great here. Not seen pictures of her for a while. Not keen on the handkerchief hemline but she looks good from the waist up.

Well I meant that I was so busy when mine were that age that I wouldn’t have managed it. I was not being snarky or sarcastic and honestly, I do not think it is is a feminist issue- I commented that it’s amazing to be able to get that glow with make-up, self-applied, with a young baby in tow. Not all of us can multi-task as well as some on here 🙄

🙋🏼‍♀️ me three!

frugalkitty · 08/11/2019 21:03

Jaime yes, it came yesterday! I'm so glad you like it, the rose is really lovely although I wouldn't have minded it a bit stronger. Glad I chose that one....and I really like the bag too (DD has her eye on it!)

queenofarles · 08/11/2019 21:05

Both Duchesses have help plus Hair dressers and Makeup artists on speed dial, don’t think either of them are Changing nappies while trying to apply bronzer,
Meghan really looks pretty with natural makeup and a simple undone updo, I could never achieve her perfectly messy updo in the picture up thread.

But I so wish she’d wear clothes that fit, that coat looks so small, it’s tight from the back and doesn’t wrap properly. If she is trying not to draw any criticism on spending ££££ on clothes, then there are so many mid range brands she should look into.
I think she made a mistake by buying ££££ clothes while pregnant , she should have set a small budget for pregnancy , and then shopped after birth.

BertrandRussell · 08/11/2019 21:10

“ Well I meant that I was so busy when mine were that age that I wouldn’t have managed it.”

Presumably you haven’t got a team of dressers and make up artists and hair dressers and nannies and.....Grin

StartupRepair · 08/11/2019 21:28

Meghan and Kate have access to on tap nannies, hairdressers and mua precisely so they can look nicely turned out at events. I don't think it is a great personal achievement but a minimum baseline. This is why we comment when they don't quite get it right, like Meghan in her dressing gown coat.

thisenglishlife · 08/11/2019 21:34

Kate's three different 'Kate' design Emilia Wickstead dresses. The green one has a different neckline. I suppose the repeated pattern saves time.

Her sapphire and diamond earrings were lovely.

frugal DD has already laid claim to the bag!

I agree queenofarles in hindsight it would have been better for Meghan to have put aside a budget for proper fitting pregnancy clothes.
My maternity wardrobe was a mix of H&M & the odd bit of Next & some brilliant bargain Seraphine finds & a JoJoMB top on eBay. And this was before most stores had a maternity range. Now every brand & it's dog has a maternity range.

Bertrand I'm lucky DD was an easy baby & could do my hair & make up everyday (as that's something I've always done for me) Though at times I did wish I was an octopus as I would have killed for a spare arm or 8.
Though I can see how it would have been much harder to do things if I'd had a velcro baby & not much outside help.
DD was so easy as a baby but now I have the pleasure of an extremely spirited, stubborn & the most argumentative teen ever (probably like most teenagers) but I still love her to bits, she's great but so noisy Smile

queenofarles · 08/11/2019 21:52

So perfect! Timeless and appropriate for many events.
