Obviously they're not necessary, but neither is make up at all, or manicures, or haircuts or anything looks related. The Confused face is just your opinion.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 08/11/2019 11:50

I think in the interview with Tom Bradby she looks very ordinary

I think this is harsh, to me she looked very pretty and natural in that interview. "Relatable", one might say.

I always think Meghan's hair looks great in a bun so I can't think why she doesn't wear it tied back more, she still faffs about with the loose bits round her face but it looks a lot more elegant on her.

I wonder if the red carpet look is the influence of Jessica M?

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 08/11/2019 13:05

I agree re Meghan's hair it’s way too much, there is so much of it, completely unnecessary, she suits simple hair and it really looks so lovely up.

peridito · 08/11/2019 13:39

Perhaps she likes having long hair ,don't understand it being unnecessary !

I really didn't like the look at the coffee morning ,strange length and style of sleeves and an undone pussy bow . I don't think iy was at all flattering .And the skirt looked ill fitting .

peridito · 08/11/2019 13:41

And her look was hardly distracting ,it was a great deal more understated than her husband's .

thisenglishlife · 08/11/2019 13:45

Both duchesses look lovely with ponytails.

At times, Kate's luxe blow drys with the big bouncy curls worn down can be a bit much or distracting. It is different to how her hair used to look pre-engagement. Now Meghan is being criticised for the big hair.

Incidentally- has Harry been promoted since his wedding? I’m sure he’s got more gold things-I-can’t-remember-the-name-of now.....

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 08/11/2019 13:56

Unnecessary, meaning some people need a lot of hair, its what makes them attractive, Meghan could have cropped hair and still look beautiful.

paradyning · 08/11/2019 14:00

But regard her amazing winged eyeliner. I am jealous of her/her artist's steady hand.
And she has the perfect nude/toffee list stick shade.
Agree the hair would have been better in a bun but that would have balanced her hat better.

QueenOfTheAndals · 08/11/2019 14:19

I'm guessing both duchesses like their hair long and why not, it's lovely hair!

I too noticed the eyeliner @paradyning, oh to be able to achieve a perfect flick...

And yes to the lipstick too. I've lost count of the amount of "perfect nude" shades I've bought over the years!

DD and I were watching suits the other night, one of the later ones where MM's hair is very long and not tied up. We both agreed she would be better suited to a bob like an Audrey Tatou style or even a lob. I just can't understand why everyone thinks long hair is great - it really is only great if your hair is like Elle McPherson's and to cut it off would be like cutting Samson's hair. On the rest of us, it kind of drowns out most people's faces.

I agree, both Duchesses look better with their hair back, but again, I think it is because their hair is too long.

However, Megan looked amazing with that make-up - I too wonder does she do it herself (amazing if she does with a tiny baby too). I wish someone would show me how to recreate that kind of glow. I have great skin but I always look flat with foundation.

peridito · 08/11/2019 14:51

BettyBoo - thanks ,that makes sense ,I see what is meant .
Apologies ,I can be a little slow sometimes!

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 08/11/2019 15:01

No worries peridito Smile

Epaulettes, @BertrandRussell Grin

BertrandRussell · 08/11/2019 15:34

“ Epaulettes, @BertrandRussell
Actually, I was just popping back to say Aiguillettes! The things that look like vulgar curtain tie backs- not the shoulder things.......

7Worfs · 08/11/2019 15:40

Now there’s a mouthful - aiguillettes

JaimeBronde · 08/11/2019 15:46

Both Kate & Meghan have lovely hair & can/should wear it however they want.
Eyelash extensions or false lashes, when do we ever get that close up to someone to see the glue/join in real life ( unless we're intimate with them) & 99% of us don't have cameras zooming in on us.
Both Duchesses wear some fabulous things but like most people they also have their fair share of bad dress days.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 08/11/2019 15:50

Couldn't agree more, for personal events. But for royal ones I just prefer something a little less TOWIE.

BertrandRussell · 08/11/2019 15:51

“ Now there’s a mouthful - aiguillettes”
It sounds like something on an old fashioned French menu. Probably made of offal.

SunsetBoulevard3 · 08/11/2019 15:54

I just prefer something a little less TOWIE. Yes, those were my thoughts too.

Disfordarkchocolate · 08/11/2019 16:55

Sometimes this thread moves from style and gossip to picky and snarky.

IfWishesWereFishes · 08/11/2019 17:00

Yeah that TOWIE comment is low. Once again MM gets picked apart for having hair on her head. Confused

WineOrGinOrBoth · 08/11/2019 17:12

Wasn’t the comment in reference to both duchesses not just Meghan?

From someone who started losing her hair at a young age - female baldness runs in my family Sad I’d love to have their hair.

BertrandRussell · 08/11/2019 17:14

“ Wasn’t the comment in reference to both duchesses not just Meghan? ”
Not the TOWIE one, no.
