Ahem re "England Wales would be amazing."
I'm Irish Smile
England v Ireland final would have been amazing or Wales v Ireland would have been amazing.

Princess Anne was at a Scottish match and they didn't get very far in the competition so I thought W or H would go to the semi finals as they are supposed to be rugby supporters and I've seen them ( on tv ) at matches before.

Harry. Private jet to Japan. Think of the pearls, ladies, think of the pearls!

beanaseireann · 26/10/2019 15:16

Would it have to be a private jet ?

BertrandRussell · 26/10/2019 15:33

Why is he going to Japan?

itswinetime · 26/10/2019 15:49

Always makes me chuckle when people say Sophie is the favourite daughter-in-law.... she's the only daughter-in-law! Kate and Meghan are the next generation 🤷🏻‍♀️

Those stories about Diana makes you wonder if she was threatened but her ex BIL remarrying how would she have found the arrival and press interest in Kate and now Meghan.

WineOrGinOrBoth · 26/10/2019 15:58

Sophie isn’t the only DIL. Camilla is another. Fergie & Diana were the other 2 DILs. Kate & Meghan & Autumn are the GDILs. Unless I’ve missed any Grin

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 26/10/2019 16:17

Why is he going to Japan?

Rugby World Cup?

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 26/10/2019 16:18

Always makes me chuckle when people say Sophie is the favourite daughter-in-law.... she's the only daughter-in-law!

That does somewhat increase the odds...

itswinetime · 26/10/2019 16:23

WineOrGinOrBoth

Good point I forgot Camilla 😳.

ElspethFlashman · 26/10/2019 17:15

I think HM and Camilla get on quite well though. I imagine both Sophie and Camilla are fairly easy to be around, they both seem chatty and pleasant and without much ego.

Like Kate, actually. Sophie and Kate get along very well also. Remember that hilarious photo of Sophie almost toppling on Kate when their carriage lurched suddenly as Sophie was getting in? They roared.

AdaColeman · 26/10/2019 17:45

I read somewhere that Sophie gives Kate fashion/wardrobe advice, but who knows. It might explain Kate dressing a bit old for her age though.

frugalkitty · 26/10/2019 18:18

I was the only daughter in law for years but still wasn't the favourite Grin It took a real cow bag to snag DH's brother and take her golden child away for my MIL to acknowledge that actually, I'm quite nice!

beanaseireann · 26/10/2019 19:37

I see Leti's sister is now in a relationship with the ex or estranged husband of Sharon Corr of The Corrs group.
I akways thought Sharon was the prettiest but Andrea Corr was always singled out.

thisenglishlife · 26/10/2019 19:45

🤣 @frugalkitty

JosephineDeBeauharnais · 26/10/2019 19:53

If the RWC final next week turns out to be England v Wales, that would be a most excellent opportunity for W&H to fly out together to watch it. William tends to support Wales and Harry England so that could work very well as a positive pushback on the negative press of the past week.

QueenOfTheAndals · 26/10/2019 20:03

@beanaseireann Same! I couldn't figure out why Andrea was touted as the beauty when Sharon was so stunning. To be fair all 3 sisters were beautiful.

Leti also has a sister who sadly took her own life some years ago. Either she or the sister you mention in your post dated someone fairly well known but I can't remember who!

I bet Meghan has already requested that white dress CPE was wearing but in sludge green

I think the stiffer belt might be better actually.

peridito · 26/10/2019 20:43

That thought also crossed my mind St.Charlotte

StartupRepair · 26/10/2019 21:44

Agree the story has a ring of truth. I think Diana was jealous that Sophie was getting a slow kind introduction to the family and a bit weirded out that Sophie (at the time) looked like a slightly more down market version of her. Diana was massively insecure and I'm sure could be awful to people.

Rhubarbisevil · 26/10/2019 22:10

The Wales brothers need to support Wales

DevonUkelele · 26/10/2019 23:14

I think Wills does - after all, he will be almost certainly Prince of Wales one day.

Harry is patron of the England rugby union, according to a post on his Insta today congratulating the team.

Probably makes sense to have one brother officially supporting Wales, the other England. Maybe if there had been a third child, they might have got Scotland.

mathanxiety · 27/10/2019 00:34

Diana came from a most appallingly dysfunctional family, and the fact that this was not recognised by the RF suggests to me that this sort of dysfunction was considered normal in hoity toity circles.

I can imagine that, having been deprived of a day to day relationship with her own mother from a young age because of her father's vindictive pig headedness, she was deeply affected on a personal level by the experience of being sidelined by a nanny when she herself divorced.

I suspect she also realised once divorced that the Establishment was going to freeze her out (as happened to Fergie) and was determined to keep a foot in the game, so to speak, by making her position as mother of her royal sons unassailable.

BertrandRussell · 27/10/2019 00:48

There’s a difference between “posh” societal norms and the sort of fucked up the Spencers and the Windsors are/were. They would be dysfunctional in any stratum of society.

SeaRabbit · 27/10/2019 05:46

Indeed. I did wonder when Meghan thanked Tom Bradby for asking how she was, saying not many people have asked, whether she's not getting the support she needs from the RF, and whether that's one reason why Harry is so angry. It's a huge change moving countries and when you add in having a baby and, most important of all, joining the RF and getting all the nasty tabloid attention, she needs to feel she has lots of support.

ajandjjmum · 27/10/2019 06:23

TBF most of us would get our support from our family (feel v sorry for Meghan on that front) and our friends. It does strike me that the friends we know about are all busy, high achieving people, who probably haven't got time to give everyday support, even to a vulnerable friend - particularly as I believe most are not even local to London.

I'm surprised that we haven't heard more of Doria visiting, but maybe she just stays under the radar.

I can't believe that the RF machine haven't offered support in their way, but no-one can make H & M accept it.
