Just lost a long post Confused

Dry sending you a clean hankie, chocolate and a big fat hug. Totally get that feeling of letting go - so exciting for the dc's but bittersweet for us sniffs

Lovely understated dress Shop and will look perfect with your favourite shoes.

We saw Fleetwood Mac circa 1990 and they were brilliant, saw them in June and totally agree Lib, they were terrible. Chrissie Hind wasn't much better either. Hope you're feeling better tomorrow morning.

Grin at your 'everyday' pendant Blingy.

Have lost 2 pairs of sunnies this week, one cheap pair and one not so cheap; very frustrating.

Blingysolightly · 21/09/2019 17:00

Gotta love dmil.Grin

I have to do a link to this New look friends t-shirt that dd is wearing today with cut off denim shorts. She made me buy it for her last week and it made me laugh that 25 years after the show started the t shirt is now super fashionable for the tweenagers.Grin

QueenCoral · 21/09/2019 18:15

I haven’t yet read the thread but dry, how could you mention Christmas?! It’s only September!!!

MarshaBradyo · 21/09/2019 18:35

This’ll feel on time in no time given how long our threads last these days ;

How was it Dry? Did you do the drop off. It’s lovely you’re so close I don’t think my parents shed a tear (although boarding school first). I’ll be the same as you. Albeit old Grin

Shop perfect outfit

Lib how are you feeling

Blingy is your dd taller than you? My 14 year old is, so funny

MarshaBradyo · 21/09/2019 18:56

MrsM how annoying

Dreamqueen · 21/09/2019 19:37

Shop great dress, so stylish. I love the mascara. I succumbed to the advertising for L'oreal bambi mascara on tv. It's crap. Emboldened by the love for the mascara I ordered a red lipstick. It's just arrived & it's fantastic ( not too matte, not too shiny) & only £4. that'll be my but of the season.

No sing of baby appearing yet MrsM Today is the due date. I've got my "grab" bag packed, just waiting for the phone call saying come now.

Dry hope the uni send off went ok. I'm an empty nester, it has both good and bad points. I miss my DS but luckily I've gained a lovely DIL and I know hes happy.

DryWhiteagainW · 21/09/2019 21:13

Evening all. Thanks for the good wishes. Well I held it together after my weep with you lot this morning. No more tears. When we left DD she was off to explore the city with the girl next door so all good....off clubbing tonight Grin with a group. She’ll be fine. So will I . Have just stopped manic cleaning. My house is going to be so tidy

Well done Dry. Pictures on Facebook look lovely.Smile

When it's my turn, I will bawl like a baby...my kids might run to get the hell away from meGrin

MrsM, I missed that about your sunnies. How annoying!!!

Blingysolightly · 22/09/2019 07:51

Morning!

I loved Claude's outfit on strictly so much. The self portrait top is just talking to me. Can't find the trousers though. They're from Safiyaa according to Hello.

shopafrolic · 22/09/2019 09:03

Dream can you link the lipstick?

MarshaBradyo · 22/09/2019 09:07

Nice top Blingy

Love our vogue space on here, so nice and warming no reason other than just to say that.

Stokey · 22/09/2019 10:34

Hello all, so much going on but sounds like you're all coping well. Special hugs to Shop & Dry - I'm a way off from empty nesting but was telling Dd1 that I started school boarding school at her age. She looked quite alarmed & did make me feel sad for my poor younger self.

Funny to find you talking about Fleetwood Mac as watched a couple of great docs about them on Friday night - how hot was Lindsay Buckingham? Read a book loosely based on them called Daisy Jones & The Six which I recommend as a fun read. Have also just finished reading the Crazy Rich Asian series which is also a fab guilty pleasure!

QueenC saw this cardie yesterday and thought of you.

Stokey · 22/09/2019 11:12

So funny that they're all obsessed with Friends Blingy. Eldest (Y5) has been on a campaign to be allowed to watch it - "All" her friends are. I thought it was a bit risque but have caved & said she can watch when youngest isn't around. Am quite enjoying snuggling up on sofa watching it with her...

Themarvellousmrsm · 22/09/2019 12:01

I'm reading that book at the moment Stokey-so far it's led me down a 70's groupie rabbit hole, studio 54 and underage sex! It's a bit of light relief after a book about a holocaust survivor. Is your extension finished now?

Love the buttons on that cardi

I have a notion I'd like some trainers to wear with dresses and opaques this winter - is that a thing? Looking at black/animal print - already returned 2 pairs to JL. Also a jumpsuit but reckon will need to get from Next petite as most others are far too long in the body - tried on the hush denim one 🤣

Blingysolightly · 22/09/2019 14:15

Stokey, it was dh who got her into it because it's his favourite programme ever. So he watches all the re-runs and wasn't switching it off when the kids were in the room.Hmm Thankfully it's mostly good clean fun.

Marsha, no dd isn't taller than me....yet! I am very conscious though that i stopped growing when I was 12 (having been average height until then) and dh is 6' so i think my fate will be sealed in the next 18 months.Grin

We have just had a huge Sunday lunch, cooked by dh and now desperately hoping for a relaxing afternoon, although both the dcs have been invited to their friends houses. i am a total wuss and haven't said no so dh will probably be cross with me when he finds out!

DryWhiteagainW · 22/09/2019 18:24

Right I’m now living in a show home, after totally manic cleaning of my empty nest. Don’t think I’ll let DCs back home and DH is only allowed to use kitchen, 1 bathroom/loo and our bedroom. I had to get a grip when I was actually thinking covering furniture with sheets like Miss Haversham was a good idea Grin

Marsha I’ll second that, it’s aleays been about so much more than fashion here. Love this thread.

DryWhiteagainW · 22/09/2019 18:28

Sorry but I could do this with a Sharpie

OP posts:
Blingysolightly · 22/09/2019 19:02

Ha! That sharpie comment made me laugh Dry! Glad you didn't cover the sofa, don't want to have to come up North just to give you a shake!!Grin

While i was NAP following your links I saw something that caught my eye. Would love to know who would spend £55,000 over the internet?Shock

MarshaBradyo · 22/09/2019 19:04

Dry you made me laugh on both accounts. The sneakers and the not letting dh in rooms. Love it and think you’re ace for being you Grin

MarshaBradyo · 22/09/2019 19:04

Blimey Blingy!

Dreamqueen · 22/09/2019 19:06
