Also it’s lovely you’re there for your Mum, to do whatever helps such as going shopping Flowers

DryWhiteagainW · 19/09/2019 22:10

The coat and that jumper are great for you...stunning colour Shop

You always say that MNV is your happy place Shop so sounds like the apple doesn't fall far from the tree! A little bit of retail therapy amongst all this sadness is probably exactly what your dm needs. Gorgeous colour jumper btw.

Dream any news on the baby front?

Shame you returned all the clothes Blair-would you try again?

Blingysolightly · 20/09/2019 08:17

Ugh. I am not well at all.Sad

I had a nail polish emergency on Wednesday and had to buy nail polish at work as the ones I had on had very badly chipped. I bought no 7. stay perfect in dansom dream. Love the colour and the fact it hasn't chipped in 2 days.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 20/09/2019 09:15

Call off the search Shop that jumper is perfect! And I know it must feel weird for you and DM to be shopping, but you need to do whatever helps in the moment. When my dad died, my siblings and I all just stayed at my mum's until the funeral, sorting stuff out but mainly waiting - it was like a weird horrible limbo as none of us went to the usual work/uni/college, so there was no normality at all. So be kind to yourself Flowers

Blingy oh no, hope you feel better soon.

MrsM I think I would, with the same stylist as I'd be really interested to see if my feedback helped. Maybe it would be better in the summer as that's the season I struggle with.

shopafrolic · 20/09/2019 10:11

Funeral dress chosen thanks Lib
My dressmaker friend came over and looked at all of them, this looks respectful but me IYSWIM collar up. Will wear with my Dune caged heels as Mum said Dad would want me in my favourite heels Smile Funeral booked for the 11th.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 20/09/2019 11:20

That's a lovely dress Shop and the heels sound perfect too. The 11th is quite a long wait though :(

Interestingly one of the items in my Stitch Fix was the Winser miracle ponte leggings. They were lovely quality but too long, and I couldn't justify keeping them at £89 as I don't know what tops I'd wear them with as my wardrobe is moving away from skinnies.

Blingysolightly · 20/09/2019 11:32

Good choice Shop. Very elegant.Smile

libertyonhertravels · 20/09/2019 11:34

Glad to be of some minor help from here shop. The Dune caged heels will be great with it. I wouldn't overthink the shopping etc. As Blair says be kind to yourself. The OS jumper is great.

Blair Stitch Fix sounds great and I went hunting and found a similar service over here which I might try.

Blingy what's up? I've been off work for 2 days with a horrible cold. Hate being sick.

Rugby World cup starts today so I'm expecting not to have any kind of normal conversation with DH for the next month Hmm.

shopafrolic · 20/09/2019 17:48

Can you link the leggings please Blair
I used to have an amazing pair of thick leggings from french Connection but they don’t make them anymore. Too long sounds perfect for me....

shopafrolic · 20/09/2019 17:48

Feel better soon Blingy

DryWhiteagainW · 20/09/2019 21:29

I bought a Winser miracle skirt a couple of years ago.....fantastic quality for a good basic black work skirt. I had never heard of the brand before.

Blingy I rate No7 polish very highly...good stuff at a very good price.

It’s a perfect outfit to send your dear father off in Shop , I’m sure he’ll approve.

So tomorrow my DD goes to uni. That’s it. My nest is empty. I’ve been ok until now .....we had a “last supper” tonight where DD chose what we ate, then DH had bought he a Dr Seuss book and played “Slipping through my fingers” by ABBA....bastard made me cry. Now I’m not cool at all ...tomorrow will be a tough day. I expect, like my mother did with me, I’ll be crying all the way home after dropping her off. Sad

libertyonhertravels · 21/09/2019 04:45

I love that book dry.

I've scored at a second hand shop today - a lovely, dark Olive Green, chunky knit, cotton Rails jumper for the equivalent of about 40 pounds.

Blingysolightly · 21/09/2019 06:38

Are you better Lib? Lucky you, with your find, post a picture?

First bout of sinusitis of the season for me.Sad with everything going on in my life over the last few months I had got less disciplined about my vitamins and supplements, leaving myself vulnerable.Sad

Dry, I am so tempted by the Chanel-esque tweed jackets from Mango. I know I will be indecisive for ages and then miss the boat!

We are visiting senior schools today on open days for dc1. Trying to work out what I should wear given all I want to do is be in my bed. That Mango jacket would be great with jeans.Wink

DryWhiteagainW · 21/09/2019 09:04

Blingy I’m wearing the Mango tweed black boxy jacket to take DD to uni today, with red and white e fitted striped top, frayed hem straight jeans, white trainers and red Longchamps bag. I’m trying to look like trendy but practical mother Grin given I’ll be lugging boxes and bags from car to room all day.

shopafrolic · 21/09/2019 09:23

Dry thinking of you and wishing DD well on her adventure.

DryWhiteagainW · 21/09/2019 09:30

Tbh I’m now not feeling so cool about it Shop Sad
I know she’ll have a blast, I know she’s ready, I know I’ll be fine and busy with my own life, I know my house will be tidy and the food will stay in the fridge....but it’s just gone too fast and I’m feeling emotional and we have t even left yet....damn it, I can’t even see the keys to type Sad

I need to hold it together...thought I’d be ok

DryWhiteagainW · 21/09/2019 09:31

shopafrolic · 21/09/2019 10:15

Oh Dry sending you the biggest squeeze - you are the most amazing momma. She will be just fine and you will be even more proud xx

libertyonhertravels · 21/09/2019 11:38

Hugs from me too dry. Have a good cry, it will be ok. Before you know it she'll be home with bags of washing and raiding the fridge xxx

libertyonhertravels · 21/09/2019 11:44

blingy I'll try do a picture tomorrow. I'm feeling better but not 100 per cent.

Just back in from a Fleetwood Mac concert. They were absolutely shite Shock. Had to leave early. My lingering cold didn't help.

Blingysolightly · 21/09/2019 13:10

Awww big hugs Dry. My nieces left today too. Sob. Kids grow up way too fast.

So my school touring outfit was me&em red and white breton long tee, black j crew matchstick jeans, a beige blazer, these rag & bone loafers (which I love and dh hatesGrin) and Chloé Paddington bag. Bling was Tag diamond watch, givenchy leather bracelet and boodles blossom ring. A few years ago mil gave me a necklace with a pendant which is a big 2" oval half studded with diamonds. She said "I saw this and thought it was a lovely thing to wear on a casual day". I laughed but she's right.Grin

Blingysolightly · 21/09/2019 13:11

Poor you Lib, hope you're fast asleep right now. Thanks
