Sorry! I was in a meeting and dropped the ball.

(The comments below that YouTube video are depressing!).

QueenOfTheAndals · 17/09/2019 10:09

Agree it looks a bit unfinished by itself @Tablefor4 but it's much better with the belt. I don't think neckline is too low and nor is it too short!

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 17/09/2019 10:12

@Tablefor4

The blue really suits you, especially with the belt.
I’d keep it.

QueenOfTheAndals · 17/09/2019 10:23

I was just looking at Jigsaw online and realised the service users modelling the Smart Set are called Kate and Zara!

Looks lovely with the belt, but maybe a bit short for work? Or am I a boring old fart?

QueenOfTheAndals · 17/09/2019 10:36

Tbh it would never even occur to me that that's too short for work but I guess it depends on your workplace!

OP posts:
BertrandRussell · 17/09/2019 10:39

OK- I am a boring old fart then! Grin

Tablefor4 · 17/09/2019 10:39

Thanks @queenoftheandes and @CurlyWurlyTwirly I agree, it needs a belt or something to pull it together, and the colour is very nice. I am leaning towards keeping it. When I sit down obviously the dress rides up a bit.

The neckline is funny because straight on it's fine, but from the side it's a little booby, even though I'm not, but on the classy side.

Overall, I think the dress does what it needs to: fits lots of body shapes, lots of different work/office environments, easy to wear, nice but not so distinctive that everyone knows it's a SmartWork dress. Good job DoC (and her designers)

Tablefor4 · 17/09/2019 10:41

LoL @BertrandRussell Yes, it's basically on the line of suitable for work. I have a casual office, but a grown up job. Sitting down it rides up a bit.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 17/09/2019 10:42

How does the fabric feel @Tablefor4 ?
( I tend to shy away from synthetics, as I just get too warm)

Booby in a classy way sounds good! Grin

ChardonnaysDistantCousin · 17/09/2019 10:50

The dress would be too short for me, especially belted.

Boden has similar shapes recently.

ChardonnaysDistantCousin · 17/09/2019 10:52

Boden’s dresses were cotton jersey.

BlingLoving · 17/09/2019 10:53

I don't think it's too short at all and it looks nice. I'm impressed with how the blue looks.

VeniceBeach · 17/09/2019 11:32

I went to Clarence House a few years ago and it was excellent! It’s interesting and a very different experience to BP/KP. You can see family photos that have never been published, as well as some personal items – I was particularly interested to see which books were lying around. It’s a tour only and you’re not allowed to so much as touch your phone!

VeniceBeach · 17/09/2019 11:37

Blue dress looks fab on you Table! Especially how you’ve styled it with the belt.

Daisypie · 17/09/2019 12:46

Blue dress looks great. Too short for my work (and fat legs) but you look lovely.

Horsemad · 17/09/2019 13:00

Dress looks lovely but I couldn't wear polyester.

whitershadeofpale · 17/09/2019 13:14

I think the dress is fine for most people for work but I don't think it would be appropriate for an interview.

Lunde · 17/09/2019 14:53

Blue dress looks great with the belt.

I've been looking at the collection and like the trousers but just realised that the trousers are dry-clean only, which I don't think is very practical.

Tablefor4 · 17/09/2019 15:06

Thank you all for your lovely comments. I've cut the labels off - keeping it! @CurlyWurlyTwirly def very Markle-esque classy boobs

It's very polyester feeling which won't suit everyone and I may yet be a hot sweaty mess on the tube. I'm about 5'10 so the dress is a sensible length on most people.

QueenOfTheAndals · 17/09/2019 18:06

Kate will visit Birkenhead with William next week to attend the naming ceremony of the UK’s new polar research ship, which is named after David Attenborough.

Now I'm normally a big fan of Leti's crisp style but I really don't like these trousers, and the wide white belt looks cheap.

Love the red dress Leti had on to meet the basketball team - and amazingly toned arms.

Agree that the belt lets down an otherwise nice outfit in the last pic

QueenOfTheAndals · 17/09/2019 19:22

I'm not a fan of that style of trouser either @MotherofPearl.

Fab colour on Max for Prince's Day but not 100% convinced by the dress. The bit across the shoulders seems excessive. Laurentien looks nice and a lot better than she did in yesterday's denim outfit!

OP posts:
paradyning · 17/09/2019 19:25

Love the colour of Max's outfit. But the balance is all off with the small hat and wide shoulders. I think a bigger hat would work better.
