The Mash Report has done a sketch about Megs.

"Is Meghan Markle behaving like a "proper" princess? The Mash Report investigates... 👑😂"

I went to BP today. Just as I was walking by the quadrangle, Prince Andrew got into a green Bentley and was driven away. None of the other tourists recognized him apart from me.
The state rooms were beautiful. Loved the White Drawing Room. I'm going to look at some more old photos taken in BP to see what I recognize.
All the junior royals have apartments in BP. They're all on the rhs of the building as you look at it, or lhs from the garden.
Gardens are a bit Meh. Just like Hyde Park with a few more herbaceous borders. Also incredibly noisy with all the traffic.
Definitely worth a visit, but I would skip the garden tour, you can see most of it from the terrace and walking round to the exit.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 16/09/2019 19:35

Couple of pics of the back garden of Buckingham Palace.
The scones are good!

Yes, no Downton spoilers please!

I second this. It doesn't open in the US until Friday the 20th.

thisenglishlife · 16/09/2019 19:59

Really like this simple but nice Katherine Hooker dress DOC wore in November 2014 (Norwich). She was pregnant at the time (with Charlotte). Definitely beats a coat dress!

Curly I've been to BP twice and loved it. It is a bit odd that it's bang in the middle of traffic etc though!

QueenOfTheAndals · 16/09/2019 20:07

@Becles I saw that clip too. Hilarious and so on point!

I like it when Kate wears her hair up, with height at the crown. Red really suits her.

Thanks for the pictures of BP, @CurlyWurlyTwirly. It's interesting to see it from another angle (that's not a CGI on Victoria)!

Wetdogloveshubert · 16/09/2019 20:09

I'm really keen to get a look at the Smart Works lines, too. Will have to nip to the shops one lunchtime!

QueenOfTheAndals · 16/09/2019 20:40

I wonder how the hairdresser gets the height in her ponytail? Lots of backcombing? Something underneath the hair at the crown to give it a bit of a lift?

I did the BP tour a few weeks ago. Can't believe I forgot to mention it on here. I really enjoyed it. Kept trying to work out how stressful it must be for Kate et al when they take the kids round there for whatever reason - all those priceless artefacts! Grin

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 16/09/2019 21:12

@frugalkitty and @BlingLoving

Yes it was great! I got my ticket stamped so I can visit again within the next year for free.
I got a little peek into some of the Royal apartments as they had their nets pulled backed and the windows open. They seem to be decorated in a sort of English country house style, lots of wallpaper and lampshades. The closest interior designer I can think of is Henrietta Spencer-Churchill here. I only saw from a distance as their is a lot of security.
I’m planning to visit Clarence House next year when it’s next open.
I think Prince Charles has got really good taste.

SenecaFalls · 16/09/2019 21:28

I went to BP the last time we crossed the pond. I saw Kate's wedding dress. It is a wonder to behold in person, especially the skirt.

QueenOfTheAndals · 16/09/2019 21:39

Hasn't Clarence House been decorated by Camilla's sister? Or is that another one of Charles' homes?

@QueenOfTheAndals Kate's hairstylist posted an Instagram photo with the products she was taking on a tour with Kate. It included a Charles Worthington mousse and a Charles Worthington texturising spray, the ones in the pink cans. The hairstylist was made to delete her account soon after...

paradyning · 16/09/2019 22:31

Thanks for the pics @CurlyWurlyTwirly

What is that pavilion building on the lhs? Is it a pool house?

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 16/09/2019 22:32

@paradyning

Yes it is the pool house. The windows are blacked out.
It’s directly next to the private apartments.

RomaineCalm · 16/09/2019 22:41

I so want my own pool house!

Love the red dress on Kate. I wish she'd wear red more often instead of the pale blues, pinks etc. as it really suits her.

frugalkitty · 16/09/2019 23:31

Seneca I saw Kate's dress too.....beautiful up close but I've always said it needed something to bring that detail to life on tv and in photos. We went back the following year and the exhibition was diamonds which were absolutely stunning! Though I'd have settled for one of the diamond set Faberge eggs as a souvenir......I'd love to own one of those!

SenecaFalls · 17/09/2019 01:08

I agree frugalkitty. The artistry of the design and construction of Kate's dress was much more obvious in person. But I do think you could see the genius of the skirt design on TV in the way it moved down the aisle.

keiratwiceknightly · 17/09/2019 06:57

Like the red dress. Wasn't Jo Swinson wearing the same one at the LibDem conference yesterday?

QueenOfTheAndals · 17/09/2019 09:04

Speaking of red dresses, here's Leti in a striking red one and matching shoes meeting the Spanish national basketball team. It's not often that you see SFF looking short!

OP posts:
CurlyWurlyTwirly · 17/09/2019 09:43

I was thinking that about SFF. Let’s looks tiny in those photos!

Here’s a
“Queen in Waiting”

Slightly cheesy but interesting

Tablefor4 · 17/09/2019 10:01

Right. Smart works dresses arrived. I'll try and post a picture of the blue one. Definitely 100% polyester and does crease despite a non-iron pledge. Blue is nice bright shade. The neckline is a tad low, but ok (my children were mildly scandalised).

It is a bit shapeless on me, so I've added a belt. But it's quite cunning as you could style in lot of ways.

My problem is that I'm tall and this is possibly a bit short, I'm undecided. I'm definitely returning the black because I don't need it, but am in two minds about the blue.

Tablefor4 · 17/09/2019 10:03

Dress with and without belt (model's own!)
