Sote pp by the fireplace

Hoooo · 12/09/2019 06:55

leflic
Try mugler angel muse or dior addict.
Busy day today.
Ugh.
Sotd pp by the fireplace

Calmasasleepycat · 12/09/2019 13:28

Leflic, I’ve never tried Olympia, but Fragrantica suggests the main notes are vanilla, salt and florals. If it’s the salt that your nose is picking up on, it might be worth trying Mugler’s Womanity. This has a lovely salty note, together with fig and florals. It’s a bit of a marmite fragrance, though. You might have to ask for it from under the counter!

MrsMoggs, I agree that Theo Fennell’s Scent and 4160 Maxed Out are both ones to be wary of wearing in public, for the first hour or so anyway. Also I find the Rochas Femme is decidedly off putting to others to start with 😨, although I like it. I have others that I’m careful about wearing but need to look in my boxes to remind myself. I will report back later! I hope your tooth is better soon. 🤭

Hoooo · 12/09/2019 14:54

mrsm hope the toothy peg is ok x

Sote pp by the fireplace again

Oh how I love this stuff!

Hoooo · 12/09/2019 19:14

I've also unwrapped a bottle of Avon timeless I had in my stash:)

Ambery chypre loveliness!

I've decided to give the larger gift boxed/wrapped HN box samples as extra little xmas gifts.

I love the 3 robert graham scents. Fig neroli is growing on me!

MrsMoggs · 12/09/2019 20:14

Thanks All for the tooth wishes; as long as I keep the painkillers topped up I'm fine Smile.

Have been swooning around in 1740 Marquis de Sade again today, thank you again Body. Sort of love child of L'AdDM and Feu Follet. Can I recommend anything more highly than that??

Have you got any Parallel in your collection, Hooo? The Fig & Neroli was interesting layered over that. (BTW, I only like the tobacco-y RG - very happy to swap the other two if you're interested).

Interesting you get that reaction to Femme, Calm - I always think of it as mildly seductive! Could explain a few things Grin

The things I usually get adverse comments on (just from friends, as I tend to play it safe at work) are vintages. Although L'Heure Bleue is an exception to this.

Hoooo · 12/09/2019 20:22

I have actually, mrsm! I'll try that, thank you.

Really didn't like eau de memo or the daisen (sp?) One. Bit floral.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 12/09/2019 21:01

SOTD JHAG Mad Madame. I’m using the Korres rose shower gel just now, which has put me on a rosy jag.

I went back to work today which was possibly a mistake, but my class had a get well card for me - so lovely!

Evening all. So happy it’s Friday tomorrow. Knackered.

SOTD has been Teint de Neige. One of my comfort perfumes.

Hoooo · 12/09/2019 22:36

It's been a loooong week...

Hoooo · 13/09/2019 08:07

TFIF :)

Taking mum to drs then meeting a friend for coffee.

Sotd....hmm...no idea yet!

Hoooo · 13/09/2019 08:41

Sotd pp by the fireplace
It's just so lovely!

Lotsofpots · 13/09/2019 09:48

Tooth pain is the worst mrsm - hope you get it sorted soon.

SOTD is beauty pie petals, heliotrope and ambrette. A proper holiday scent for the flight home. Boooo!

Hoooo you crack me up with your endless devotion to PP fireside. It is bloody gorgeous through...

Hoooo · 13/09/2019 12:50

I know 🤣 I'm a fangirl 🤣

Hoooo · 13/09/2019 12:55

Hope you've had a good holiday lots xxx

Hoooo · 13/09/2019 19:00

Sote avon timeless

PolaDeVeboise · 13/09/2019 20:24

Hi all, hoping one of you will ride to my rescue. Avon discontinued my favourite perfume @ 2 years ago - Premiere Luxe Rose Blush and I am desperate to get some or, at least, something similar. I've worn loads of scents over the years, but the comments I got about this one were off the chart. Can you help?

MaudBaileysGreenTurban · 13/09/2019 20:49

Pola I can't find that one when googling (well, it brings up a blusher but no scent)? D'you mean Rose Gold Blush? Fragrantica suggests Narciso Rodriguez for Her, Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb, and also Zara's Chypre Floral, Coco Mademoiselle, and Gres Lumiere Noire (which is always super-cheap on allbeauty.com)

SOTD has been Au Coeur de Desert, which has been luscious for a long and tiring day. Saying goodbye to our third year students, which is always weirdly emotional (in both good and bad ways).

However, got home to a mini of Chanel Jersey. A soapy, aldehylic lavender; I rather love it although it is definitely not going to knock Reverie au Jardin off the Lavender Top Spot any time soon.

Calmasasleepycat · 13/09/2019 21:12

MrsMoggs, you may want to re-think your seduction techniques!😀. But over the last couple of days I’ve been researching Rochas Femme. Apparently there have been reformulations over the years which, unusually, have not always been for the worse, just different. I have the dregs of a little sample you sent me a while ago and I have compared it with my bottle. Yours definitely does not have the stridency that mine has and is fuller and softer, I feel. I think that mine may be the 2013 version, which was heavy on the cumin. Some of the earlier vintage versions were more leathery and I’m wondering if yours is one of those and therefore more suitable for seduction?

The other perfume I have which I definitely would not want to wear out for the first half hour or so is Jean Patou Sira Des Indes, as it starts off with a distinct note of baby poo! But then is a beautiful sweet champaca and banana.

Maud your miniature Chanel Jersey is probably similar to mine. I love it too. It’s such an easy to wear go-to kind of perfume.

I wore 4160Tuesdays White Queen today. On me, it’s incense and toffee with fresh earth undertones. I enjoy it, but it’s not an all out favourite.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 13/09/2019 23:10

SOTD was Byredo Bibliotheque. SOTE LE 15. DP is off to London for the weekend so I have a load of M&S food and a purring cat. Usually he brings me perfume back from this trip (it’s an annual “lads’” thing) but he flew hand luggage only. SO selfish!

Morning all.
Still in bed enjoying the peace and quiet.
I put on one spray of Chloe Narcisse before bed last night and my goodness it’s still incredibly strong. I wish all perfume performed like this beast!

Off to a birthday lunch for a friend (with DD in tow) this afternoon. Not sure what my SOTD will be. Something uplifting, I think.

I offloaded some perfumes I never wear to DD (she’s 11) recently and I think I have a budding perfumista on my hands! She particularly loves Cologne of the Missions Grin

Hoooo · 14/09/2019 08:52

No idea what today's sotd will be.

It's a lovely fresh crisp morning.

teta · 14/09/2019 09:20

Fleur de liane today. For visiting a food fair and it's such a gorgeous day. Wearing flip flops, so hope it warms up quickly due to blisters from my smart shoes on our business launch day. Woke up at 6 today. How come I wake up early at the weekend and can't get out of bed during the week?
I know what you mean about Sira Des Indra. I had to swop mine away as I couldn't get over the opening . Plus I discovered I really don't like banana in perfumes.....
