So Flora, this is up for debate with this year's participants, but last year the deal was:
- I allocated each participant two dates when it would be their turn to open, sniff and report back
- I sorted us into pairs. (Like doing a football draw!).
-Pairs pm'd their addresses to each other.
-Pairs sent each other two small packages to unwrap on 'their' dates.
These were usually samples or DIY decants of their favourites (sample bottles available from ebay). Because you are all very lovely Perfumistas, people tended to research their pair a bit, either by reading back through the thread or asking about notes they liked or disliked. But this really is just a bit of fun, so not anything to agonise about.
- Pairs each sent the other their wrapped packages well before their turn to be 'it'.
- I pm'd details of how to add text to the calendar.
- On their day to be 'it', Perfumistas unwrapped one of their packages, enjoyed the scent, then went to the calendar and added remarks in the text box for that date. Some clever people also added pictures.
- Some people left long reviews, other short snappy reactions. It was all good.
- The other Perfumistas clicked on that date and enjoyed reading about that day's scent.
Hope I have explained this OK? It sounds really complicated, but wasn't so bad in practice.
All: do we stick with this format this year?
