Yes, I would like to be included too.

MrsMoggs · 03/11/2019 13:14

Excellent!

MotherOfDragonite · 03/11/2019 13:30

I'd also be up for it!

Lotsofpots · 03/11/2019 15:39

I'm up for it! I love an advent calendar.

FloraMacDonald · 03/11/2019 16:31

I've been lurking and learning. I'd love to join in, if you don't mind a novice.

MrsMoggs · 03/11/2019 17:40

Excellent! Welcome Flora!

So, so far I think we have:

Hooo
Teta
Mother
Pots
Flora

With me, that's six of us, so if we're each prepared to send/describe 4 samples, we can cover a 24 day calendar. Hopefully more Perfumistas will come on board and that number will come down. Think there were 13 of us in the end last year and we swapped two each?

I need to check the free online calendar site we used last year is still operating in the same way. (We need an editing function that makes it easy to add daily updates). I am very happy to pass on the baton should anyone want to coordinate this year?

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 03/11/2019 17:50

Oh, me for the advent calendar, please. Although last year I was a disaster because I got ill midway through and couldn’t smell my second sample at all. I think I ended up putting a photo of my cat in my window.

SOTD Chanel Coco. What a disgusting day, it has rained non-stop here since Friday morning. Yesterday was Byredo Bibliotheque, but worn only after bath/fresh pyjamas because I didn’t leave the house.

Excellent! We loved that picture Judy. Smile

MaudBaileysGreenTurban · 03/11/2019 18:23

Yes I'd be up for perfume advent.

Desert Island Perfumes? SO tricky. At present my 8 would probably be:

L'air du desert marocain - Tauer
Givenchy III
Traversee au Bosphore - L'artisan Parfumeur
L'aimant - Coty
Creamy Vanilla Crumble - 4160 Tuesdays
Mitsouko - Guerlain
Habanita - Molinard
5 o'clock au gingembre - Serge Lutens

But that leaves out so many wonderful things, and is really only an autumn/winter list anyway...

I'm going to go and put some Theo Fennell Scent on Grin

MaudBaileysGreenTurban · 03/11/2019 18:27

Oh and welcome Flora! Stick around and dive in Smile

MaudBaileysGreenTurban · 03/11/2019 18:31

teta I finished off Unbelievable today when dp and ds were out at the football. It was excellent, wasn't it? The two leads were just so authentic together.

I might give Chinatown a go MrsM. I seem to be kidding myself that regularly buying ebay decants is basically free perfume...it's really not Grin

MrsMoggs · 03/11/2019 20:32

Nearly went for Givenchy III and Habanita on my list, Maud.

FloraMacDonald · 03/11/2019 21:40

Thanks for the welcome! Although this is not good for my bank balance - I've just ordered another discovery set. Blush

MotherOfDragonite · 03/11/2019 22:06

What sort of things do you like, Flora?

ClientListQueen · 03/11/2019 22:21

SJP lovely SOTD
Only because it's a rollerball - just had a wrist tattoo touched up and I don't want to get scent on it! It's inoffensive but I don't love it

Hoooo · 03/11/2019 22:37

Hello flora

Sote pp by the fireplace

Its just perfect for this weather

Calmasasleepycat · 03/11/2019 22:51

Hello, I’m back from a long trip down under 🙂! I wore Mugler Womanity and SJP Covet mostly, as well as various samples. I’ve been catching up with the thread.

I’m definitely visiting Les Senteurs this Thursday 7th, with my sister, and will get there 1030 - 1100. If you remember, we discussed meeting up there for a sniffing session so I would love to see any of you who can make it. With tea and cake afterwards! 🍰

I would like to join the perfume advent calendar. I really enjoyed it last year.

Oh good, a Desert Island list. I will think on it and come up with a list tomorrow.

MrsMoggs · 03/11/2019 23:09

Thanks to all calendar participants below (please shout if I have missed anyone). Think that currently means sharing/sniffing three samples each, unless we can recruit three more participants, and then we'll be down to two.

Calm
Judy
Maud
Hooo
Teta
Mother
Pots
Flora

Welcome back Calm - we've missed you. Flowers

FloraMacDonald · 04/11/2019 06:56

Thanks Mother. I love l'eau d'Issey - it's probably not very sophisticated, but I adore it. Also wearing Good Girl by Caroline Herrera & Coco by Chanel. I love Captured by Candlelight, but thought a lot of the 4160s smelt quite similar, like a sweet shop (sorry if that's heresy round here Grin). I don't particularly like too much floral or 'pink' perfume.
I've got my eye on the Tauer & MMM discovery sets next, but happy to be guided if anyone has any other suggestions?
Thanks

Hoooo · 04/11/2019 07:25

Good choices flora!

Sotd will be pp by the fireplace

It's raining cats and dogs here :(

MaudBaileysGreenTurban · 04/11/2019 08:16

Happy Monday all! SOTD is the fabulous Clinique Beyond Rose. This probably needs to go on the Desert Island list, really. Just brilliant.

teta · 04/11/2019 10:08

Wearing Marina Barcenilla patchouli Clouds today. Very appropriate for the autumnal scene today.

JeannieTheZebra · 04/11/2019 17:09

Hi 😊 I’m just getting into niche perfumes and I’ve been lurking for a while... well, basically the last two threads... and I’ve finally got up the courage to post.
I like spicy perfumes this time of year, like Chai by Baruti, and also soft ambers. I don’t like anything too floral but, weirdly, I quite like Chypres and Fougeres. I just bought 4160 Emerald Wings and my sotd is Shazam.

Hoooo · 04/11/2019 17:21

Hello zebra Smile
Welcome!
I'm amber lover too! Chypres are also a fave of mine.
If you are after a cheap amber fo try avon timeless - a beautiful ambery chypre - £5!!

KaliforniaDreamz · 04/11/2019 19:22

I'm in for ADVENT

SOTD L'air de rien mmmmmmmmmm
