Welcome to the new members.
Wearing Ffern summer again. Which is actually better in Autumn 😁.
@Hoooo I hope the appointment goes well.
Going to Mallorca next weekend for a mini break so I'm looking forward to a last bit of sun before Winter sets in.

MaudBaileysGreenTurban · 23/09/2019 11:21

TF Tobacco Vanille today. I know this is one that divides opinions but I am rather fond of it, once the plasticky opening dies down. Could do with a bigger whomp of tobacco though, imo...

Hoooo · 23/09/2019 13:50

Sotd Estee lauder modern muse nuit

No further on really.

Crutches and rest.

clucky3 · 23/09/2019 16:14

I love tobacco vanille too. SOTD is Santal blush, it feels a bit summery but perfect for early autumn too.

I've barely got started on my ffern summer and just had an email yesterday saying that autumn is being dispatched today Grin

MotherOfDragonite · 23/09/2019 16:21

I totally agree, teta, I liked it in summer but it was only when the colder weather kicked in that I was completely charmed by it!

SOTD was Lattafa Oud Mood and my SOTE (afternoon?!) is Blousy. I can no longer decide if I love it as much as I first did, but I swear I can smell blackberries -- not listed as a note... I do find the MH scents sooooo easy to wear, though.

teta · 23/09/2019 16:23

I'm really excited about the Autumn Ffern. Though may not be here when it arrives. My Dad fell a few days ago and refused to go to the doctor's and has been hobbling around in pain ever since . So a week later he went to Casualty to find he's smashed his vertebrae and needs to be kept in - Retired doctors make the worse patients.
He's still recovering from his heart op🙄

Hoooo · 23/09/2019 17:17

Oh blimey teta!

I can't decide if I want an fb of Estee lauder modern muse nuit

MaudBaileysGreenTurban · 23/09/2019 18:49

His name is Theo...and he is skanky Grin

Ahhhh, this is SO GOOD. The EDT is actually a little more wearable than I remember my sample from MrsM being (I think that was EDP?) - precisely because it is a little lighter and more obviously 'flowery'....and then that filthy cumin note creeps up on you, all silk underwear and unwashed hair and bedsheets and old fur coats. But there's rose and jasmine and orange blossom too, keeping it just this side of ladylike. Absolutely glorious.

Having said that, though, I might have to get a bottle of the EDP too, for days when only smelling very unladylike will do Grin

BR540 · 23/09/2019 18:51

Evening all. Hope everyone is OK, crutches aside!

I had a dreadful sickness bug at the weekend that came out of nowhere and floored me, but seem to have recovered today, just bloody knackered.

Currently wearing DSQUARED Want, which is a woody vanilla with spicy rose. Reminds me of Mancera Roses Vanille.

I’m now craving Elizabeth Taylor Diamonds & Rubies and an early night...

Lotsofpots · 23/09/2019 19:16

maud your description of TF tobacco vanilla perfectly sums up how I feel about it too.

Lots of poorly/injured perfumistas! Hope everyone rests and recovers.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 23/09/2019 20:17

SOTD Heeley Cardinal.

Sending good wishes for poorly people. 💐💐💐

I am feeling very sorry for myself...

So full of cold 🤧😷

Crutches are a pita.

Such a busy week, too!

teta · 23/09/2019 21:20

Theo was too skanky for me and was instantly returned . Luckily there was a user bottle out that people were spraying. I literally had to stand away from people in the queue for the check out after I'd sprayed. I smelt like I hadn't washed in a year and left my incontinence pads at home.
Sorry you're feeling bad Hoooo.

MrsMoggs · 23/09/2019 23:42

Sorry to hear about all the poorly Perfumistas, and Teta's Dad. Get well soon Flowers

Funny you say that Maud, I find the EDP marginally more wearable, because it's richer, which takes the harsh edge of the skank on my skin. Yes, would've sent you EdP.

SotD is Terre d'Hermes. Big long lasting flinty vetiver.

FloofyCatDoesTerriblyBadThings · 24/09/2019 08:29

I have a vague memory of trying the TF Scent in Harvey Nicks, after a very boozy cocktail session and feeling very sick (the cocktails may have been implicated there too Wink) I wonder if it was that one, or a different perfume?

Pinkjellyfish did you get rhubarb from the Floral Street one? I've not enjoyed their others but that one does sound intriguing (are you a NCer btw or is my memory definitely all gone Blush)

Teta your poor dad! And everyone else suffering with poorliness, I swear we must pass things on via our screens (or it was from my DD Smile) as I do smell of unwashed bedsheets as I feel terrible too this morning and have a raging temperature. Like any good Perfumista I have covered this up with perfume (Chanel 19, the perfume not the EDT. I need a FB of this. Now I think I may have been too hasty saying I don't like most of the Chanels (is it you Hooo who also feels like this?).

Btw, last time I went to Selfridges in an attempt to try some Exclusifs the bottles were sitting on a display with lights underneath which were hot so the bottles were warm, it really annoyed me. Plus the sales people were very Hmm towards me so I went to the Le Labo concession instead (the staff there were lovely. I liked the Bergamot one)

FloofyCatDoesTerriblyBadThings · 24/09/2019 08:31

The bergamot perfume I mean, I made it sound like there was a staff member called Bergamot Blush (AIBU to canvas opinion on that in the baby name section? I really like it!)

Hoooo · 24/09/2019 09:03

Lovely parcel from mrsm this morning!
Thsnk you...much needed cheerfulness :)
The occur is exactly as I remember!
Halston amber is lush and I'm wearing it now ❤

Hoooo · 24/09/2019 09:04

I've got a lemon drizzle in the oven and a choc loaf.
Just trying to defrost the fricking fruit for the crumble that I forgot to take out last night...

teta · 24/09/2019 13:17

Has the cooking cheered you up Hooo? Or is it a necessity?
Following a not very pleasant trip to the dentist I've received a lovely parcel of Ffern Autumn. The opening is stunning - Olibanum, nutmeg and bergamot = all of my favourite notes. Then moves into a deep rich Patchouli with lots of smoky notes from pepper, juniper and pimento. It reminds me of Friedemodins Fire but far more subtle and less overbearing. Come to think of it, it's the same perfumer!!

teta · 24/09/2019 13:22

Sorry it's not Fire but Friedemodins Feu Follet that it reminds me of. With several notes in common.

Hoooo · 24/09/2019 13:43

It’s his b day tomorrow but Dh and I have to go to 6th form thing for Ds1.

Hoooo · 24/09/2019 13:45

Yep that’s me floofy
I like coromandel though.
Sorry You’re feeling poorly.
I’m rough too but on day and night nurse

MaudBaileysGreenTurban · 24/09/2019 16:16

I need to join the ranks of the poorly - I have a UTI for the first time in yeeeears, which is making me feel very grumpy and ratty (for the first time in, oh, days?? 😆) I think I'm a bit run down.

Sorry if tmi, folks!

SOTD has been Eau My Soul.

MrsMoggs · 24/09/2019 17:05

Maud - me too. Sad

MaudBaileysGreenTurban · 24/09/2019 17:28

Oh blimey MrsM Flowers rotten isn't it?
