Dear me, I've been away for a few weeks with very little internet access and seem to have missed all of this thread and much of the previous one.

Looking forward to seeing the DoC taking Charlotte to school on Thursday. When are the royal tours? I can't remember when the Cambridges are off to Pakistan? Sussexes to South Africa?

Look up the schools, it’s a global chain and the pupils have to do things like be volunteer firemen if I recall correctly. I think someone from the organisation came & spoke to us when I was at school.

Very little said about the similarity between QS and Sofia tbh, a few articles (who manage to make it sound cute). But in all fairness I don’t read or follow gossip sites, I just make an effort for this thread. Btw, they’re saying that Ingrid Alexandra has finally found her style icon - princess Sofia.

The school is in a huge castle overlooking the Bristol Channel, King Willem of the Netherlands is a former pupil.

Wow IA speaks fantastic English! Not surprised she sounds American, I find kids here pick up that accent from the telly quickly and she must have travelled a bit too.

Re rich, powerful men surrounding themselves with glossy young girls who are supposed to be grateful for dinners, frocks and jewellery, I think that is definitely still a thing in some circles.

consider, for example, the endless "yacht girls" on the Riviera etc, doing apparently little but being decorative and getting snapped by the tabloids or celeb magazines. Also, sugar daddy websites, where the dinners, frocks, lifestyle are the whole point from the woman's side - the money and power on the man's.

Don't get me wrong - I am totally not condoning it, and it's very much not my scene. But it is a thing.
