God that Hello article was sycophantic. It’s like the writer had necked a bottle of Prosecco and tried to be as sickly sweet as possible.

I think Eugenie looked lovely along with Sienna. But, didn’t love Ellie’s dress and hated the bridesmaids. It’s bad enough being a bridesmaid in a crap dress for a normal wedding but knowing you’re going
to be in the national press in a sack must have been anxiety provoking.

banivani · 01/09/2019 09:31

“Now, I don't mind a bit of a breeze, if any, I prefer it. But that one was aggressive. So I says to myself. I say 'Colm, this is no day for a do'.
When the bride arrives, and I say by this stage, the wind was fierce.
I've never heard wind like it. Howling like a banshee it was. So the poor girl, the bride now this is, she arrives and isn't she no sooner out of the car than she's lifted up in the air like a paper doll and blown into a flowerbed.”

queenofarles · 01/09/2019 09:40

OMG Banivani Grin GrinColm and sister Michael.
Ya it’s probably a good thing the wind was not so fierce , Ellie is tiny .

queenofarles · 01/09/2019 09:43

I’m actually quite surprised it took the press this much to contact Thomas Markle again, and if their is any truth about their Move to California well he can personally try and visit them there!

DevonUkelele · 01/09/2019 09:45

I wonder if they are backers of Diana The Musical by any chance?

Haha... Barnesy? Look, I've been wrong before but I really don't think so. Not on this one.

David Campbell is well known in Oz. His father is, to many, an icon - the original "working class man". Proud of the godawful poverty and alcoholism he left behind, first in Scotland, then in suburban Australia.

Is she? Have no idea who she is really have to admit but my daughter says I’d recognise one or two of her songs if I researched it.

Having looked at close up (read: intrusive paparazzi zoom lense) photos of the dress I have to say the workmanship looks exquisite to me. Zero puckering of the seams and that’s silk crepe.

paradyning · 01/09/2019 10:22

Who is that Di is kissing in the red dress in the Sun link please!
It looks like Earl Spencer butvdidnt think he was in the army!

QueenOfTheAndals · 01/09/2019 10:36

I think that is the current earl @paradyning, certainly looks like him!

Oh, I thought it was Harry!!

Stravapalava · 01/09/2019 10:51

Although thinking about it, it couldn't have possibly been, seeing as Harry was much younger than that when she died!

AliasGrape · 01/09/2019 11:42

Thanks for the Tatler link queen - some iconic looks there! I love the red and purple in Hong Kong.

Fell down a Tatler rabbit hole clicking random links and came to this, Lord Ivor Mountbatten and his new husband. Apparently the ‘first member of the extended royal family to come out publicly as gay’ according to the article. www.tatler.com/article/lord-ivar-mountbatten-interview

ajandjjmum · 01/09/2019 11:48

I did a double-take. It obviously couldn't have been Harry, but it touched me, as a photograph of her with an adult Harry may well have looked like that, had she not died.

QueenOfTheAndals · 01/09/2019 12:18

That's right @AliasGrape but not one of the royals could make it to his wedding. Not even the Wessexes, and he's Lady Louise's godfather!

Instagram post from Prince Harry about thé upcoming trip to South Africa in a few weeks

I wonder if we will get to see a bit more of Archie, like we did with the Cambridge children; when overseas. Or maybe he will remain under wraps.

AppleKatie · 01/09/2019 13:07

If he’s a private citizen surely he should remain under wraps. Get off the plane with the Nanny once the press have gone etc etc...

After all the appearance stuff is the work bit isn’t it? For the adult royals?

Laiste · 01/09/2019 13:51

Watching the wedding video it's just occurred to me that the bridesmaids are all in very 'covered up' dresses because the bride's dress which is very covered up. She fancied an Elizabethan style dress so couldn't really have her bridesmaids upstaging her in sexy shapes.

Quite possibly this is very obvious stuff, but i've only just had the lightbulb moment Grin

I think Eug is in a pair of those 'orrible clear PVC shoes. WHY!?! Squished chicken flesh feet ...

BertrandRussell · 01/09/2019 13:51

“If he’s a private citizen surely he should remain under wraps. Get off the plane with the Nanny once the press have gone etc etc...”
I agree. But apparently we have the right to see him.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 01/09/2019 14:00

I wonder how long Archie will have to sit on the plane with his nanny till the press disappears.
I guess he hasn’t had the glare of loads of press cameras, which is pretty Unnerving.
We don’t have a right to see him, but it seems more trouble than it’s worth to try and hide him.

BlingLoving · 01/09/2019 14:17

I saw the instagram post. What was interesting is the way Harry writes about South Africa - like it's been there a lot. Botswana, yes. Lesotho, yes, but if he's spent a lot of time in SA it's been quite under the radar. I guess when he was with Chelsy they may have been out there a fair bit and it's likely whenever he's in Lesotho or Botswana he may well pop to SA at the same time. But it's been very under the radar as we haven't seen much in the way of pictures etc.

lavenderandthyme · 01/09/2019 14:19

Nice to see harry posting rather than Meghan. I think he's trying to make it clear that he will be carrying out the engagements but they will travel as a family.

BlingLoving · 01/09/2019 14:23

"It's been there a lot". haha. I meant, "he's" been there. Am not trying to remove gender pronouns or suggest he's not a real person! Grin

queenofarles · 01/09/2019 14:23

Bling I think he visited his cousins in Cape Town.

lavenderandthyme · 01/09/2019 14:29

Yes, his uncle and cousins lived in Cape Town for a long time.

QueenOfTheAndals · 01/09/2019 14:49

Kitty's brother and sisters may still live there. I think their mother does, along with her child from her second marriage.

We’ve been to Limpopo SA for Safari and it’s close to Zimbabwe and Botswana , guess he might have been to that part of SA too?

Yes, The Spencer twins still live there and Victoria Lockwood too.
