The bridesmaid dresses are growing on me. I think individually they are quite nice but the all togetherness with so many BMs makes it seem a bit much?

I wonder if they had two styles though weather dependent? If it’d been 35 degrees like last weekend they surely wouldn’t have worn such heavy dresses?

EmGee · 31/08/2019 21:01

I quite liked the wedding dress. It is rare these days to see a bride (and bridesmaids) covered up so much. So I like it because it's just so different from the figure hugging, strapless dresses we see so much of. (No offense to strapless dresses!! I just think in a church wedding the shoulders should be covered.)

I thought the men all looked pretty good!

I disliked Bea's dress. It reminded me of a Quality Street wrapper. None of the female guests looked that good. But maybe they looked better in the flesh?

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 31/08/2019 21:01

Like the dress, don't like the embroidery on it.

The scene with the bridesmaids in the wind looks very threatening, for some reason.

frugalkitty · 31/08/2019 21:04

Having seen more pics of the bridesmaids, and without wanting to sound mean.....they all look like their boobs are in need of a lift. Maybe it's the empire type line of the dresses but they look like they need a good hoik up to me Blush

Doyoureallyneedtoask · 31/08/2019 21:07

I liked Eugenie’s dress and Sienna’s dress.

Cressida always dresses badly at weddings and why does she always wear low cuts? She is flat chested and they rarely look good. Beatrice - words fail me tbh.

The bride’s dress is different. I don’t dislike it. It is a strange choice for a summer wedding though

Happy anniversary Ginger

I think if she was Helena Bonham carter or Florence Welch, you could see it fitting their style. But when she has so much lip filler it’s at odds with the style.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 31/08/2019 21:30

I liked the shape and idea behind the wedding dress, the high neck looked fresh and modern, but the choice of fabrics ( heavy for the dress) and then as pp said the collar looked like an afterthought.
It was all rather Puritan rather than festival.

Cressida looked a right mess; work jacket and beach espadrilles. It’s only because she is young and pretty that she gets away with it.

Nobody looked good at that wedding. Katy Perry looked promising till you saw the unicorn coloured dress and cheap looking shoes peeking out.

Re Diana. I hope this doesn't sound insensitive on this day of the anniversary of her death but she had such a beautiful athletic body. She wore clothes rather than them wearing her iyswim.
I miss her.

frugalkitty · 31/08/2019 21:56

This is one of my absolute favourite Diana outfits. I loved it at the time and love it still. The bolero was taken from a different dress worn previously if I remember right. Stunning from top to toe. Bless her.

Blimey- Sarah ferguson’s Outfit is horrid, isn’t it?

QueenOfTheAndals · 31/08/2019 22:46

Very funereal, and black isn't a good colour on pale redheads.

I think the York sisters love clothes and fashion, probably more than say Kate does, but quite often they look like they're trying too hard - Beatrice's dress at Ella Windsor's wedding also looked like it was wearing her.

God, that's an awful wedding dress 😲.

I, too, heart Bea's shoes though.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 31/08/2019 23:25

In other news, I see Thomas Markle is at it again. Brace yourselves. DM article.

Clankboing · 31/08/2019 23:28

I watched the video of the wedding in the Mirror earlier - it looked really chaotic. The wind was really strong and it looked like the dresses were blowing everywhere. The bridesmaids were struggling with Ellie's dress flapping all over the place - the veil was too. I felt like they were holding the dress up unecessarily at times too. But also: the cheering, screaming and chanting in the crowd! Awful. As a bride I would have been so stressed by it all - but I guess the famous get used to this.

mathanxiety · 01/09/2019 03:02

Yes, that wind was something else, and maybe the street acted as a funnel. You can hear the gusts on the video.

mathanxiety · 01/09/2019 03:05

Agree that Fergie's coat washed her out. Not the right colour for her complexion.

Odd to see her in such a mumsy hat too, though maybe she wore it because she was afraid something with a brim would have acted as a reverse parachute in the wind. I think the coat would have looked better if it had been balanced by a wide brimmed hat.

AppleKatie · 01/09/2019 07:31

Wow just read the latest Markle tirade. He can’t be as nice as he paints himself surely? If he was, he’d keep quiet and be privately sad. These articles are so poisonous.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 01/09/2019 07:58

Those bridesmaids seem to be lifting her dress too high. Surely that isn’t necessary to raise it to thigh high?? Not very bridal.

I think she changed to a festival outfit for the reception. Is she particularly religious? Wondering why it’s a cathedral wedding. But I have no idea who she is.

QueenOfTheAndals · 01/09/2019 08:16

How did we miss this story???

Some cute family stories just shouldn't be shared! When that boy is a teenager the presenter is going to pay for his indiscretion....

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 01/09/2019 08:28

If I was the DoS this morning my head would be buried in my hands. Whatever does her father think he's doing, and where did this crazy idea come from to air his grievances through the British media?

He says she is badly advised. Hello Pot, meet Kettle...

QueenOfTheAndals · 01/09/2019 08:30

@Myimaginarycathasfleas The boy's dad is a fairly well-known presenter and musical theatre actor and his grandfather is an Aussie rock legend, so it's not like they're doing it for the money!

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 01/09/2019 08:42

@QueenOfTheAndals no, it seems an odd story to put out about your very young son. Hopefully when he's older he'll see the funny side...

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 01/09/2019 08:45

Of course, with that theatrical background maybe it's part of a cunning plan to launch him into the world of entertainment!

AdaColeman · 01/09/2019 09:23

TV and theatrical background....I wonder if they are backers of Diana The Musical by any chance?
