Hi all, I've been following the tribe group on Facebook for a while but just wondering if anyone here has tried it. I can't seem to get to the bottom of what they advise, seasons etc. Is there something similar closer to London. And she keeps advising chunky trainers, is this a thing now?

I've had it done. I found it really useful and very informative. I wasn't surprised to find out I was an hourglass but didn't know my colours and that made a huge difference. So I do think it's worthwhile

I also agree that the FB page isn't as good anymore

betternamechangeforthisone · 30/12/2019 12:05

I really want to get the hair analysis.

From what I’ve seen on the group the chunky white trainers aren’t recommended for everyone, just the ones who need balancing out I think.

I don’t like how closely they monitor the group - I understand they can’t be letting people basically give out the same advice for free but it’s too much.

LightOfAThousandStars · 30/12/2019 19:05

I agree with the FB comments and as others have said not everyone has had an analysis so you can't judge the service based on that alone. I first heard about Susie through a mumsnet thread (might have been this one actually) and am happy to have found the page because it has such a positive vibe. I recently had an online analysis after being in a rut with what to wear and it's helped me loads on what colours and cuts to go for so it saves time shopping and I am returning less items from online shopping too. The only thing is I had one of their 'Online Shops' and I feel it didn't work out for me, there was nothing on there that I would wear and feel like some of the recommended items were repeats from what was already advised on the blog. Getting an Online Analysis was worth it for me though and so convenient being a Mum it's not easy getting out and about to have it done.

Sagradafamiliar · 30/12/2019 23:38

The posters who post on the long running OOTD type threads on here are 1000x more naturally stylish than SbyS.

DontFundHate · 31/12/2019 06:33

What's ootd?

I agree sbys isn't really stylish, lots of following cheap trends. But I do think the group is helpful if you post say two different pictures and ask which looks best, and the actual analysis is specific in terms of cuts and colours but general enough so that you can follow the advice with your own (good) style

gingersausage · 31/12/2019 06:53

I wish I’d thought of a way to get endless amounts of £30 just for telling people what to do 🤣.

Sagradafamiliar · 31/12/2019 08:46

Dont Outfit of the day.

overtheseagull · 31/12/2019 14:36

I agree that SBS is anything but 'stylish', but then I guess everyone has a different idea of what constitutes style. Her looks are cheap and cheerful.

She's recently recruited a few new (novice) stylists and I wonder if her business is going to get a bit too big for its own good soon.

I also have major beef with her going on about not indulging fast fashion, yet offering personal shops at Primark. Hmm

pontiouspilates · 31/12/2019 14:53

I've had a style analysis done. Some useful information in terms of body type and 'colours' but to. Be honest there was nothing groundbreaking in it. I find that people are so slavish about following the advice eg chunky trainers, biker jackets etc that they just look like clones.

DontFundHate · 31/12/2019 22:17

@Sagradafamiliar wow, my new favourite thread, thank you

LightOfAThousandStars · 31/12/2019 23:13

Do you have a link to the OOTD thread? I've tried to find it but can't seem to locate it.

DontFundHate · 01/01/2020 08:40

Easy! Because ive added it to my watching Crown Smile

hoopdeloop · 01/01/2020 08:48

I got styled by Susied and loved it. It moved me away from dark colours and encouraged me to wear brighter colours. I got some great help in the Facebook group. The stylists also say it’s a guide and not a rule book, you can still wear different things to what you’re advised and different colours

Greyhound22 · 01/01/2020 09:02

I was thinking of this yesterday.

People really like her and I like her positivity - but I'm not a fan of how she dresses herself. She has new stylist starting by me who in photos looks more I would dress so I was thinking of doing it but not sure if they have a standard set of clothes they put on everyone. I'm not into clashing and trainers with everything. I dunno maybe that's the point but it seems very fast fashiony.

I'm also put off by the links to stories in the Daily Fail etc the one about the sunglasses in Primark was ridiculous. Clearly pushed by PR and then shared everywhere.

LightOfAThousandStars · 01/01/2020 13:42

Thanks for the link @DontFundHate

TheKitchenWitch · 01/01/2020 17:17

I think it's a joke; the "outfits" are just everyday shite. There's no style at all.

Ellapaella · 01/01/2020 18:13

I'm not convinced by the hair analysis... when people post before and after pictures of their hair I always think they looked better before they were analysed.

ChocAuVin · 03/01/2020 00:48

Yeah; no. I’ve just checked the link to her FB above. Totally underwhelmed.

Gooseysgirl · 03/01/2020 01:13

I really wish Susie would not work with the Daily Fail, it has really disappointed me about her.

gingersausage · 03/01/2020 06:28

@TheKitchenWitch I’m sure I’ve got a picture of me wearing that outfit c.1991 🤣. I guess it’s retro now.

Novicenovice · 03/01/2020 07:04

I am convinced that they don’t get the colour analysis right for about a third of the people they analyse. I’m always looking at the pics people post and thinking “hmmmm, that colour actually looks crap on you.” And as the group is no overly nice as you’re not allowed to post anything negative everyone rushes on to say how good the person looks. This happens especially with lipstick. Sometimes it’s so obviously the wrong shade for a person but nobody is brave enough to say “actually, I don’t think you’re a summer - it isn’t doing anything for you” or whatever.

I had the hair analysis and it has done wonders for my hair. That was worth every penny.

DontFundHate · 03/01/2020 08:13

Yes me too @Gooseysgirl (note my username!) I don't think I've looked at the group since. She's explained it by saying she's adding positivity to the newspaper, which is true, but I just know personally, if I wanted to advertise myself (which is all she's doing really) then I would never ever consider the daily fail

TheKitchenWitch · 03/01/2020 09:04

I don't want to be rude, but the really? If this was just a regular FB post from a friend, then fine. But if you're setting yourself up as some sort of fashion and makeup stylist then no. Just no.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 03/01/2020 09:24

Let's be honest, Susie has found a niche (women who are unconfident about style and want someone to tell them what to wear) and good for her for capitalising on it. I don't like any of the style in the group either (joined to see what it was all about, much like Mrs gloss Grin) and I 100% don't believe you can diagnose anyone's season from pictures, but a lot of people seem very happy with what she is doing.

Obviously I haven't had a diagnosis from her, but I do wonder what information she is giving about the seasonal colours, as so many people seem to post "I'm a winter does this khaki suit me?" Hmm which makes me think she doesn't actually explain colour theory that well.

closetotheaction · 03/01/2020 14:40

@BlairWaldorfLovesShopping Another aspect of her 'niche' market is that the fashion is cheap.

The insta grids of the stylists she's just employed are...interesting Hmm
