Hi all, I've been following the tribe group on Facebook for a while but just wondering if anyone here has tried it. I can't seem to get to the bottom of what they advise, seasons etc. Is there something similar closer to London. And she keeps advising chunky trainers, is this a thing now?

I love proper vintage marksies pussy bow blouses with wide leg trousers and retro trainers! My go to work outfit.

I agree with the majority on what the business needs but "customers nees to lower their expectations"?? These have been set by sbs advertising & messages they promote. The over the top reviews ect "suzie is just like a best friend" ect I am here to empower all woman. I do not feel it is fair to blame customers who expected a service they dont recieve. Plus the packages have changed so much since the beginning of the business you use to get alot of info even in basic packages which is now not the case. So these testimonials they use from old sbs customers are missleading as they no longer offer the same service packages.

I think familiarity breeds accountability and thats where SBS seems to be lacking & this last week has evidenced this better than any negative review has.

I've been watching this thread with interest, i had an analysis last year. Whilst it was not ground breaking I did find it helpful and as a 40 something stuck in a Boden rut it has helped me.

I found the make up tips useful, particularly because I just had no knowledge in that area, never really wearing much make up. I purchased a recommended lipstick and have had no end of compliments on it.

The group clearly works and helps some people, i have picked up some ideas which have helped me change my wardrobe a bit. I'm not one who posts photos of outfits or asks for feedback on my choices, but some people obviously find that really helpful. I do find it odd that balanced feedback cannot be given on a post, i don't want to hurt anyones feelings but some photos are not people's best outfits and there should be constructive feedback allowed. Currently if don't like something I simply scroll on and don't interact. I'm not sure that is always the best outcome for the poster though.

I do think there is an issue with personal/professional lines being blurred with what is shared on the stylists social media and some stylists overshare or talk about things that have been shown to not be of interest to the majority of followers following feedback. As in life I like some of them more than others, that's to be expected. The access all areas to someone's life is not what I want from a business, that is what personal accounts are for. But as I said I am mid 40s so may not be their target demographic.

With regards to complaints it certainly sounds like some work needs to be done by them so they have a robust complaints process. To simply dismiss someone's concerns about a service they have purchased is not good business.

100% agree with this.

I agree with you that some of the reviews are very over the top! I’m slightly bemused to read that so and so cried when they read their analysis or how it changed their life, etc. It’s very extreme but I don’t think reviews are solicited. I wasn’t asked for a review by Susie.

I’m not sure I should have talked about “lowering expectations“ - a paid product is a paid product after all but I wasn’t expecting fireworks for a 50 pound service (or whatever I paid) and I think it’s better to be realistic. It will give handy tips and pointers (hopefully) but that’s about it. I wonder if anyone will post here about the life changing effect? Might be interesting to have that perspective.

As for the packages changing, I wasn’t aware of that and that is indeed misleading and would create false expectations. She should look into that.

@Sinkingswan

I'd have to say I agree with the comments about the after service. That is definitely an area for improvement but I'm unsure as to how any of you can say that people are being analysed as the wrong season if you are not trained in this yourself? Surely a group of women who are trained in this are better equipped to make that assessment than we are?
It’s not really a matter of being trained, anyone can do it. By “it”, I mean with some practice you can sometimes visualise which type of colours people look best in. Some people are harder than others as they’re not very obviously either cool/warm or clear/muted. Summers = cool and muted colours Winters = cool and clear colours Autumns = warm and muted colours Springs = warm and clear colours

@Sinkingswan Because there have been so many shocking examples in the facebook group of people being analysed as the wrong season.

FlasknTea · 12/08/2020 16:44

Ah interesting! I hardly ever go on the Facebook group so hadn’t seen this. Explains all the reviews ;-)

FlasknTea · 12/08/2020 16:45

You can't delete negative reviews on FB. You can disable reviews so they can't be left and previous ones can't be seen, but you can't delete individual ones. At least that's how it worked when I was running a business page a few years ago.

ohmygiddiest · 12/08/2020 17:08

@Oopsadaisydoddle It looks like Styled by Susie would need to set Trustpilot reviews up. So we will probably never see this happen.

Styledbyserpents · 12/08/2020 17:46

There is no way on God's green that woman in shorts is an hourglass!!!

Styledbyserpents · 12/08/2020 17:50

She's just said she has no hips but has been analysed as an hour glass?? I see someone else has had the same thought!

Sinkingswan · 12/08/2020 17:52

But unless you have been trained in colour analysis, how do you know its wrong? I would have no idea so I would trust the judgement of the professionals over someone's opinion 🤷🏼‍♀️ Maybe that's just me though.

weareyoung · 12/08/2020 17:53

YY to the business going rapidly downhill since expansion.

I know of Susie from the days when she started out doing 'style parties' (🤢) in the area local to me. Back then, I'd never heard a bad word said. It was all overwhelmingly positive.

I said previously, possibly on this thread or another, that the rapid expansion of her business will be the ultimate undoing of it. At the moment, from the outside, it's a bit like a horse that is bolting with the rider still on its back (just...).
