It's not really his PR though, it's the institutions PR too. And the Queen seems to have managed that very closely over the decades. She's not going to let her most wastrel son fuck it all up.

Back to The Crown, Tobias Menzies is a very fine actor indeed, and I am looking forward to seeing him play Philip.

Tobias Menzies is a good actor yes but he is no way handsome, but Prince P was v. handsome. I can accept Olivia and Helen but nit Tobias. And Matt Smith was not handsome enough either.

I dunno - there's something about Matt Smith. He has the kind of essence of Prince Phillip. Shouldn't be sexy, but is.

It's even weirder to think that Helena B-C played the Queen Mother in The King's Speech. Now she's playing her own daughter.

One of HBC's early gigs was as Jane Grey and she's also played Anne Boleyn (as has Claire F), so she isn't a stranger to royal roles. And of course OC was Queen Anne in The Favourite!

It doesn't look like the producers have gone down the Jenna Coleman in Victoria route and got them to wear contacts but both actresses are so good that we won't notice their eye colour after about 5 minutes!

I still stand by my thought that OC should have played PM as she looks more like an older Vanessa Kirby who played her before and she also looks more like PM anyway (insofar as she looks like either of them).

No idea who I would have chosen to play HM though. But I bet HB-C has had a blast playing PM!
