Previous thread. I think we'll be a bit short of royal outfits as they're all off on their holidays atm. But Kate's regatta is coming up next week, hence the thread title!

Same rules as always - keep it light, critique the clothes rather than the women, and don't believe anything printed in the Daily Mail

She just needs a really good stylist who properly understands her figure and fashion and how to combine the two. Mary has benefitted hugely from the advice of her stylist(s) - she owes them a lot I think (although I do think Mary has a much more confident approach and understanding of fashion in general (style-sure, they call it in Danish - knowing and understanding how to dress well in a way that works properly, while still being fashionable/modern/trendy).

Not sure the any of the pieces match and I've never liked pepluns. You'd need darker (or much fairer) hair for the black to look good.

However, this outfit and hair make Kate look young. She looks happy and the hair is her natural hair texture.

I love, love, love the trousers and trainers. The top just needs to be a little longer. And to all you haters, at least she didn't wear Breton. Really, scorned if she does and scorned if she doesn't.

She looks really young with her hair like that and the tan.

I like the top of the trousers but the bottoms look odd, I like the top but it is also a weird length.

The peplum looks awful with those shaped trousers!! I would rather see this outfit than her standard skinnies and breton though!

Her hair looks so much better in a wave as opposed to the heavy sausage curls. Quite like the lighter colour for summer too.

Love the Supergas – I have some navy ones and they go with almost everything. Tempted by the white version but they’d never stay clean!

Well, it is a style thread lots of people have said they like that she’s tried something different at least.

They did get changed:

I like how the caramel bit in the top accentuates her caramel hair highlights (that nearly sounds !Ike a romance novel) but the peplum doesn't go with the hornpipe trousers. Good on her though, she always looks smiley and poised!

That model photo shows how the top is supposed to sit. Much nicer.

I am still thrilled that she didn’t wear the usual uniform.

Yes, kudos to her for trying something different. And good on her for donning shorts - is she the first royal woman to appear in public wearing them? Though maybe Sophie wore them once...

And to all you haters, at least she didn't wear Breton.

Erm what? I don't think any of us are "haters". And the reference in the thread title to Bretons was light-hearted.

Kate’s shape looks so bizarre today. I had no idea she had such short legs.

She looks terrific in the shorts outfit.

I think it’s the position of the buttons that makes it look like she needs to hoik her trousers up. I like the top! The proportions are just a bit off.

Now looked at the buttons enough that I feel like they’re staring at me.

I can see why she likes a coat dress tbh, or just a dress. This is an outfit that I feel demonstrates her lack of interest in fashion - just not quite put together right. Don’t have this issue with a coat dress! Just put it on.

Kate looks great but I agree with Annasgirl that Kate's top would look even better a tad longer.

George looks excited. Charlotte is definitely less enthusiastic! haha.

I like Kate's natural hair today, but don't like the makeup with the look, as it's quite heavy. Is baby speculation a step too far? (Sorry).

Lovely to see George with his grandparents! What a great way of including them in a royal event, but showing how 'earthed' George is being brought up.
