Which dress is better for family wedding?

After posting on here I've received some great advice, so I'm hoping to get some opinions on these two dresses.

I'm a size 18 after having a baby 11 months ago. My shape has completely changed so I'm feeling very lost at the moment. I'm looking for a dress to attend a family wedding.

I've got personal shopper appointments with both John Lewis and Debenhams this weekend. I'm still going even though I quite like these two dresses. I'm hoping to get further advice on what looks right on me.

The first dress is Studio 8 (size 18). It was suggested my bigusbumus so I'd like to say a big thank you if you are reading this! I didn't think I would like it but I love it! My husband says I can't rock magenta though Sad

The second dress makes me feel like a princess. The skirt is swishy. However, I had to order it in a size 20 which dampens it for me slightly. It's a Coast dress. I'm an 18 in every shop but I'm Coast I can't fit into the size 18.

So which dress is better for the family wedding? The magenta Studio 8 wrap dress or swishy Coast dress? (Or neither?!)

I'm getting so close to getting a dress that makes me feel good!!! Haven't felt good in anything for a while.

Another one saying definitely the Coast one. It’s gorgeous and you look fabulous in it. The colour of the first one is a bit harsh and draining I think, and it’s nowhere near as flattering as the other.

Ps- am ridiculously jealous of your ankles. I am a size 10, but with the ankles of a sturdy pit pony. Yours are so neat and elegant!

Artesia - nobody has ever been jealous of anything of mine so I thank you for your kind words which have made my day! I'll never look at my ankles in the same way Grin

The coast dress. The magenta does nothing for your lovely shape xx

Orchidflower1 · 23/07/2019 18:48

Coast one all day long with maybe silver shoes / bag or pinky.

Tootytata · 23/07/2019 22:36

Rookiemere - it's definitely a size 20 Sad

I bought these earrings. Not sure if they go but I'm wearing them together! Smile

Of course, I'm wearing the earrings together...they come in a pair! Blush

I think the coast dress is lovely on you.
Please dont worry about the sizing-i always have to go up a size in certain stores and yes i have a coast dress that is bigger than I would normal buy.

justilou1 · 23/07/2019 23:25

The earrings are great!!!

FrogLion · 23/07/2019 23:33

The black and white dress looks lovely on.

MoltonSilver · 24/07/2019 00:22

I like the fist dress best except for one thing. I don't like that the sleeve length is in line with the waist seam. It draws the eye across making you look wide. I think that if you shorten the sleeves it will looks fabulous on you.

EugenesAxe · 24/07/2019 00:29

Agree with most comments; the swishy one suits you far more and the purple one is frumpy.

You have lovely slender ankles; the lack of a break in the purple dress makes you look a bit top heavy, but the bodice/skirt break stops that happening in the Coast dress.

EugenesAxe · 24/07/2019 00:30

Haha X-post on ankles 😁

Happyandglorious · 24/07/2019 10:32

2nd dress. You look great. Congrats on the baby and pls send a pic when you're slammed up with shoes etc

strongnosugar · 24/07/2019 23:12

Number two. You look great in it-classy and modern.

HernameisGio · 26/07/2019 19:46

Cut the label off the Coast one and it’s any size you want it to be Wink It looks fabulous on you and I think you should return the first one as you clearly too fab in other clothes to wear something like that - that is meant as a compliment. You look great in no.2 dress.
