Which dress is better for family wedding?

After posting on here I've received some great advice, so I'm hoping to get some opinions on these two dresses.

I'm a size 18 after having a baby 11 months ago. My shape has completely changed so I'm feeling very lost at the moment. I'm looking for a dress to attend a family wedding.

I've got personal shopper appointments with both John Lewis and Debenhams this weekend. I'm still going even though I quite like these two dresses. I'm hoping to get further advice on what looks right on me.

The first dress is Studio 8 (size 18). It was suggested my bigusbumus so I'd like to say a big thank you if you are reading this! I didn't think I would like it but I love it! My husband says I can't rock magenta though Sad

The second dress makes me feel like a princess. The skirt is swishy. However, I had to order it in a size 20 which dampens it for me slightly. It's a Coast dress. I'm an 18 in every shop but I'm Coast I can't fit into the size 18.

So which dress is better for the family wedding? The magenta Studio 8 wrap dress or swishy Coast dress? (Or neither?!)

I'm getting so close to getting a dress that makes me feel good!!! Haven't felt good in anything for a while.

Ruthw - I don't have a hair accessory or fascinator sorted. Any suggestions on what would go with the Coast dress? The bottom is a pale pink colour.

Another vote for the Coast one, you look amazing and I’d never have guessed you’re an 18. The first one does nothing for you, please return it or give it to the charity shop.

Flamingjo · 22/07/2019 16:31

You look great in both of them tbh but I think I like the black one better as well. It really flatters your figure.

MotherOfSoupDragons · 22/07/2019 16:35

Definitely the Coast one. You look fab in it. The other one is frumpy imo.

shinynewapple · 22/07/2019 16:37

Definitely the second dress! The first one would 'do' if there wasn't a choice , it looks IK but the second dress is absolutely beautiful and really flattering.

SleepingStandingUp · 22/07/2019 16:38

Coast swishy Princess dress!!!!!!

iwillkeepthishouseclean · 22/07/2019 16:38

First one is awful second one is the best !! Shows your shape more x

Vesperia · 22/07/2019 16:47

second dress I think is more flattering

LegoPiecesEverywhere · 22/07/2019 16:52

The Coast one definitely. I wouldn’t bother with a hat or fascinator.

Snog · 22/07/2019 16:53

BOth look good but the Coast one is FANTASTIC!

Beach11 · 22/07/2019 16:53

The Coast dress 😃

BikeRunSki · 22/07/2019 16:56

Coast one. Accessories in magenta! Best of both worlds.

Phimma · 22/07/2019 16:59

Personally I think the black topped one is more flattering to you. That's the one I'd pick.

NoTheresa · 22/07/2019 17:00

Coast one.

InglouriousBasterd · 22/07/2019 17:01

Love both but just wanted to add you look nothing like a size 18. They both look lovely

TixieLix · 22/07/2019 17:03

I'm not sure if you like high heels OP, but something like this in blush pink would go nice with dress number 2. Don't go for black accessories.

TixieLix · 22/07/2019 17:03

Or something a bit lower in a sandal would be lovely.

CustardDonuts · 22/07/2019 17:06

Ooh I really like the black one, you look lovely in it!

fruitbrewhaha · 22/07/2019 17:08

The first looks a bit like you are wearing a dressing gown. Plus those wrap around jobs always need holding together or arranging when sitting down and at a wedding you are often sitting.

Whoopstheregomyinsides · 22/07/2019 17:09

Coast every day of the week. It’s lovely and you look a 14 at most! Lovely shape

flowery · 22/07/2019 17:13

"The second dress makes me feel like a princess"

That's all you need to know. Read that again. How is the first one even a possibility when the second one makes you feel like that?! The second one is more flattering and you look slimmer. Cut the label out if the number bothers you!

Tootytata · 22/07/2019 17:17

Tixielix - thanks for your suggestion but I'm not into high heels. I bought these low heel straps sandals recently but they're in black. I'd love to get something like this in pale pink.

Would it be so bad if I wore these black sandals with the Coast dress?!

Second one is a million times better.

NavyBerry · 22/07/2019 17:46

Coast! So much better than an old fashioned purple one!

JaimeBronde · 22/07/2019 17:55

I did a quick google search (I love finding things for people) & found Zalando website & did a search on 'pink sandals'. All different heel heights came up & also 'pink wedding shoes' brings up other options. There's loads at all different price points.
