I have absolutely ruined my hair. Ruined it.

So my hair was platinum blonde this morning, did it myself, took ages.

I decided to put a scwarzkopf live pastel pink on it as its my favourite colour.

I have natural brunette root regrowth (which I like) so I throw the colour on.

I didn't realise it has LIGHTENER in it.

So my hair goes pink and my roots go orange. Shock

I had some bleach so I lifted my roots to platinum and reapply some of the live pink.

Same happens again. Orange roots.

I have no money to go hairdressers. None.

So I look online and it says orange/red will cover

I have 2 mango twist dyes. So I apply them

I rinse and my hair is am awful awful colour

And to top it off my hair has broken about 3cm from my scalp right on top of my head so I have spikey hair on top.

I haven't stopped crying.

I have really low self esteem and I feel like utter shit.

I had just started to feel better about myself and thought I could pull off the hint of pink

Now I'm left with some awful patchy dull red hair with broken roots.

I've been so stupid :(

Gosh that's actually really nice. You did a fab job there.

Don't throw anything else at it now. It's worked out brilliantly. Really pretty and eye catching. So quit whilst your ahead!

Pinkybutterfly · 17/06/2019 20:06

RiversDisguise · 17/06/2019 20:07

MeMeMeYou · 17/06/2019 20:12

Wow you’ve done a great job sorting it. It really wasn’t that bad before but looks super fab now. The graduated colour is awesome

Cryinganddyeing · 17/06/2019 20:14

Oh no I won't touch it again now!

Seriously though, I'm in the queue too...

QueenoftheBayou · 17/06/2019 21:36

Don't use ketchup, that's a green hair thing. I'm currently in the process of removing dye and I'm using Head & Shoulders mixed with vitamin c powder, works so well! I've had many disasters with platinum blonde and colour, just treat your hair really well for the next few weeks (no straighteners) and it'll wash out so fast. The broken bits just look like baby hair, don't stress Smile

TixieLix · 17/06/2019 21:44

I actually quite like the red colour. I'm not just saying that to make you feel better, I really like it. When I was a teen I used to get my hair bleached (naturally mid brown). It would never go light blonde though it was always a yellowy colour. I got fed up with the regrow tho so I e day I decided to buy a home dye kit and go back to my usual mid brown. I was supposed to leave it on for 20 mins but after 2 mins I had a panic and washed it off. My hair was so porous that it had gone almost black. Imagine going from a yellow-blonde to black in one go! So yes, lots of us have made mistakes with hair dye but it does grow out again (thank goodness!) if you're hating it too much try head and shoulders or a clarifying shampoo to fade it.

whymewhyme · 17/06/2019 22:23

That's not that bad there's a girl at work who has actually been and payed £90 quid at the hair dressers to be that colour !

whymewhyme · 17/06/2019 22:26

Coconut oil is your friend slather it and go bed wash out with a few washed next day! Do that regularly! I get mine from aldi 1.70

Cryinganddyeing · 18/06/2019 09:51

Yeah I'm going to make some protein masks x

RuffleCrow · 18/06/2019 09:57

It's not nearly as bad as you've described it. I think it's actually a really nice colour. Go with the head band idea and give your hair a break for a few weeks at leasf before you decide what to do next.

Cryinganddyeing · 18/06/2019 10:00

I posted yesterday I'd fixed it with non abrasive dyes x

I have absolutely ruined my hair. Ruined it.

Looks lovely and no spikes bits.

I've got the right user name for this thread haven't I 😊

Cryinganddyeing · 18/06/2019 11:07

The spikes are definitely there just hidden 😂

DeadButDelicious · 18/06/2019 11:51

That's a lovely colour! And the spiky bits will soon grow!

Cryinganddyeing · 18/06/2019 12:32

I was extremely lucky really. I mean if those few strands broke a lot more could have! I could have had a friar Tuck bald spot😂

HypatiaCade · 18/06/2019 12:44

It looks lovely! Give your hair some recovery time, and maybe give it a conditioning treatment to put some moisture back into it.
