I have absolutely ruined my hair. Ruined it.

So my hair was platinum blonde this morning, did it myself, took ages.

I decided to put a scwarzkopf live pastel pink on it as its my favourite colour.

I have natural brunette root regrowth (which I like) so I throw the colour on.

I didn't realise it has LIGHTENER in it.

So my hair goes pink and my roots go orange. Shock

I had some bleach so I lifted my roots to platinum and reapply some of the live pink.

Same happens again. Orange roots.

I have no money to go hairdressers. None.

So I look online and it says orange/red will cover

I have 2 mango twist dyes. So I apply them

I rinse and my hair is am awful awful colour

And to top it off my hair has broken about 3cm from my scalp right on top of my head so I have spikey hair on top.

I haven't stopped crying.

I have really low self esteem and I feel like utter shit.

I had just started to feel better about myself and thought I could pull off the hint of pink

Now I'm left with some awful patchy dull red hair with broken roots.

I've been so stupid :(

It's pink! I like it a lot. I can't see where it has broken off. The colour is actually very nice. Can you get away with it at work?

PhalangeReginaPhalange · 15/06/2019 22:44

I love the colour!

mathanxiety · 15/06/2019 22:45

That's a pretty decent colour!

The texture looks nice too.

mondaysaturday · 15/06/2019 22:46

The colour is really cute - definitely more pink than red. I really like it. A few washes and it'll almost certainly fade out into the 'hint of pink' you were going for originally.

Straysocks · 15/06/2019 22:47

Love, love, love that colour.

Crushedvelvetcouch · 15/06/2019 22:47

Lots of conditioner for the next week or so, then wash with head and shoulders, then stick olive oil on your head and cover with cling film.
Rinse and repeat.
Believe me I have had a few disasters with bleach and hair snapping off. It grows back.
Protein treatments help but if you can't afford them then cracking a couple of eggs on your head, mixing with olive oil and leaving for a few hours then rinsing with cool water and applying conditioner twice a week will really help.

The colour is actually fine and will fade to the pale pink you wanted given time.

GiggleMcDimples · 15/06/2019 22:48

I actually really like it! I think maybe it's just a shock to you because it's so different to what you've been used to seeing for a long time, but it looks really nice. Give yourself a few days. And headbands for the spiky bits. Or hairspray on your hands and smooth them down so they don't notice as much. Plenty of gentle conditioning and don't scrub your hair dry xx

Ohyesiam · 15/06/2019 22:50

Op, from the bit of your face I can see you look very pretty, great skin and cheekbones. And if you’re overweight, you certainly do t carry it on your face.
Your hair is pink, if I saw you in the street I would just see a woman with pink hair.
I know it feels dreadful when you don’t feel like you look right, but bones op I don’t think you’ve got much to worry about

user1497997754 · 15/06/2019 22:53

I like the colour.....put lots of conditioner on it everyday and leave on for as long as possible.....try leaving hair to dry naturally.....get some of those nice different coloured bunny ear headbands ...x..

MotherOfDragonite · 15/06/2019 22:53

I know it's probably a disappointment because it's not what you wanted, but that's a really nice colour! I think you'll rock it with a headband.

PestoCaffeinisto · 15/06/2019 22:54

Honestly, it’s really nice!

Mistlewoeandwhine · 15/06/2019 22:55

What? It looks great!!

RedPink · 15/06/2019 22:56

I honestly like the colour. It’s pretty. It will calm down a lot very quickly too.

FloofenHoofen · 15/06/2019 22:56

It honestly doesn't even look that bad. Don't be so hard on yourself.

Cryinganddyeing · 15/06/2019 22:57

I've just straightened it and it looks completely different. It looks copperish now?

Whatever is going on I feel a lot better about it after reading these replies.

I guess I just expected to be blonde with a tiny hint of pink when I went to bed.

It's just hair though.

So much worse could have happened today.

I have absolutely ruined my hair. Ruined it.

Hairband like these x

Tomato ketchup is supposed to when it goes that yellow orange colour at the roots. Leave it on for at least 20 mins, rinse off, then, slap loads of conditioner on leave over night.
Then google how to remove pink. There are different methods for semi permanent colour or permanent colour, you haven’t mentioned which you used!
But let your hair and scalp rest, before doing anything else!

user1497997754 · 15/06/2019 23:00

You can push your fringe back under hairband until it grows back if a problen

BearFoxBear · 15/06/2019 23:01

I like it!

I've also had a slight disaster today, did my blue/black colour at home for the first time and it's a bit shit. Plus I've stained my white shelves, sink etc. Arrgghh!

Cryinganddyeing · 15/06/2019 23:02

Glitter I'm a size 22/24.

I know lots of big ladies who rock it but I have a funny shaped head and I know I would. Doesn't mean I'm insinuating anyone else my size would. Just me x

Colour is lovely

TDMN · 15/06/2019 23:03

I LOVE that colour!!
I have had basically this EXACT disaster (er... a couple of times) and also suffer with low self esteem so I know how you feel. I also went for headbands for the few weeks until i could dye it again and it actually cover everything.
I also did a very similar thing a while back with the spiky bits - i just hairsprayed them all down until they grew out, recommend the Tresemme extra hold (white bottle) as it is IMMOVABLE. Best thing to do is SPRAY THE LIFE OUT OF IT, wait until its completely dry then brush it out a bit, then another light dusting of hairspray.
