I have absolutely ruined my hair. Ruined it.

So my hair was platinum blonde this morning, did it myself, took ages.

I decided to put a scwarzkopf live pastel pink on it as its my favourite colour.

I have natural brunette root regrowth (which I like) so I throw the colour on.

I didn't realise it has LIGHTENER in it.

So my hair goes pink and my roots go orange. Shock

I had some bleach so I lifted my roots to platinum and reapply some of the live pink.

Same happens again. Orange roots.

I have no money to go hairdressers. None.

So I look online and it says orange/red will cover

I have 2 mango twist dyes. So I apply them

I rinse and my hair is am awful awful colour

And to top it off my hair has broken about 3cm from my scalp right on top of my head so I have spikey hair on top.

I haven't stopped crying.

I have really low self esteem and I feel like utter shit.

I had just started to feel better about myself and thought I could pull off the hint of pink

Now I'm left with some awful patchy dull red hair with broken roots.

I've been so stupid :(

Sorry if it's too soon for humour X

suckonthatmaureen · 15/06/2019 23:45

That's actually a really lovely rose gold colour. 😊

If it makes you feel any better I burnt my fringe off before Christmas. I was faffing with the grill and it went boom!

It wasn't just spiky, it actually melted! It looked ridiculous. ☹️ I found a wavy style helped disguise it, as did headbands!

Tootyfilou · 15/06/2019 23:46

You have beautiful skin, and the colour is lovely.

ittooshallpass · 15/06/2019 23:48

The colour looks great... and the skin on your cheek that we can see is glowing. You have beautiful skin.

It may not be exactly what you wanted, but you can carry this off OP!

Goldmandra · 15/06/2019 23:49

I like it even more in the later picture.

OP, you have not ruined your hair.

Hair spray and hairbands are your friends until those spikey bits grow a little longer.

Maybe you could try to give the rest a break from colouring until a new length has grown through that's more robust?

StormcloakNord · 15/06/2019 23:50

Oooft OP I love that colour in your latest pic.

If it makes you feel any better I'm away to spend ££ getting my hair the exact colour you have it! It's amazing!!

SirVixofVixHall · 15/06/2019 23:51

The colour looks lovely !
It will probably fade gently as it is over bleached hair, you can use Vosene if you want to hasten the process but it looks a great colour to me, and a very nice shape.

pineapplebryanbrown · 15/06/2019 23:52

Your hair looks fabulous! I like it.

I once bleached my hair and it melted and broke off, I had terrible yellow chicken fluff for months. Then I had an accident and knocked out my front tooth to complete the look.

Drum2018 · 15/06/2019 23:53

Looks great. I was imagining way worse with very obvious difference in shades but it looks all the one colour in the pics. No need for headbands at all.

NeedSomeTimeInTheSunshiiine · 15/06/2019 23:56

Oh wow, it actually looks lovely! I know it's not what you planned, and I was properly bracing myself for the photos... but you look good! I'd never have noticed the spiky bit. I like it a lot!

MorondelaFrontera · 16/06/2019 00:15

condition to death

but you really shouldn't straighten your hair at the moment. If you don't want to have to cut it really sort, leave it alone, just condition with all the suggestions from above.

Rachelle11 · 16/06/2019 00:18

I love the colour personally!! Looks fab!!

Stormy76 · 16/06/2019 00:20

I did the same a couple of years ago, decided to dye my hair pink, it went a weird pinky orange .....particularly at the roots. Then I thought ‘I know I will go to boots with my weird orange head and buy a hair dye’. I went from pinky orange to dark orange ......which was not better at all! Had to them go to a hairdresser who put a load of blonde highlights in and while the colour was ok my hair was ruined. I have spent a fortune on hair treatments etc but it eventually grows out.

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 16/06/2019 00:30

It's because it's not how you imagined your hair would look like that has thrown you a bit.
However your new hair colour looks great & in that photo you have posted well you look like you've just stepped out of a very expensive hair salon & your hair is lovely, shiny & swishy & looks professionally coloured.
You look fab!

Amiable · 16/06/2019 00:31

I love your new colour! The colour looks great with your skin tone and I love the shape too. When you described the hair breaking off I thought you meant loads, but I honestly didn't even notice it in the picture until I really looked. If I hadn't known about it I really wouldn't have seen it!

Slopacker · 16/06/2019 02:13

People pay £££ for that colour! And it’s in right now. If you haven’t got any hairspray, tame those little sticky uppy bits with a smidge of olive oil, coconut oily or even moisturiser.

It looks so thick and glossy!

SavoyCabbage · 16/06/2019 08:34

Maybe you should train to be a colourist!

PragmaticWench · 16/06/2019 08:38

It looks great!

Your hair will need some protein after the chemicals, and Tesco Keronics conditioner (white bottle with green logo) is cheap and contains protein. I'd use that lots, maybe leave it on for half an hour each time, and it'll help with the snapping hair.

BuildBuildings · 16/06/2019 08:39

It's a lovely colour. The spike bits will grow quickly to they're not sticking up.

WelshMoth · 16/06/2019 09:29

Gorgeous shine on your hair.

goose1964 · 16/06/2019 09:32

It is similar to DDs hair, it fades really quickly though, last time she did it and was mid fade, some places more orange and others pink, my son said it reminded him of a cocktail and thought it was an expensive dye job

Greyhound22 · 16/06/2019 09:36

It's ok OP honest Thanks

StoatofDisarray · 16/06/2019 09:42

I love the colour too, it reminds me of Ariel the mermaid! Also agreed your skin looks lovely.

youvegottobekidding · 16/06/2019 10:21

The colour in your latest pic is really nice, I'm actually trying to get mine that colour! Your hair looks lovely, nowhere near as bad as you first described. I use to colour mine loads & found using the Aussie deep treatment 3 minute miracle colour condioner after every wash (washing hair about every 2 days that is) helped with the condition of my hair.

LittlePaintBox · 16/06/2019 12:50

Honestly, I think the colour looks lovely. I'd love mine that colour but I can't be bothered with all the intermediate steps it would take to get there from greige roots and brunette dye.
