This one looks to be (early?) 70s and has some marvellous things in it.

CountFosco · 15/06/2019 20:16

SotD Fleur de Sel.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 15/06/2019 20:32

SOTD Tauer Carillon etc. It didn’t rain here today! I wore a midi-skirt with bare legs for the first time this year!

Black skies, rain, muggy...bloody horrible.

teta · 15/06/2019 21:05

It's sunny here now and was lovely on my earlier dog walk.
I don't think I've worn any summery clothes yet this year apart from the three days of sun much earlier.

MrsMoggs · 15/06/2019 23:19

SotE Amour Nocturne. Today this reminds me ever so slightly of SM (must be the milk note). More torrential rain here earlier.

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 15/06/2019 23:26

There's so much rain at the moment Mrs that the air outside smells almost tropical. You know that kind of smell when you get off the aeroplane in the Caribbean or Pacific. Kind of smokey & damp washing.
Now that would be an interesting perfume.
Talking of perfumes there is an article in the DM about Next perfume. Apparently Next Aura smells like Black Opium & Alien.

Teta I presume M&S will be doing their Advent box this year. Unfortunately I detest Blood Oranges as was wearing it during a difficult time late 2017.

MissBattleaxe · 16/06/2019 09:28

Maud The Perfume Society current has a Men's box with about 15 samples in it. It would make a great gift.

MrsMoggs · 16/06/2019 09:34

Given it's Fathers Day (I think?) I've gone with a masculine (albeit a pretty unisex one). Vintage Eau Sauvage. What masculines do you wear?

teta · 16/06/2019 09:37

Sorry about the rotten memories @TracyBeakerSoYe Flowers

teta · 16/06/2019 09:38

I’m planning on spending the day watching Chernobyl.
Am I the only one who’s signed up with Now to watch this?

MrsMoggs · 16/06/2019 09:46

Not sure I can face it Teta. Reading Wolves Eat Dogs was enough...

Iambuffy · 16/06/2019 10:17

I shall be sniffing my dear dads old spice later and prob having a little weep :(

I wish I'd thought of that perfume society box for dh but he'd already asked for something.

I'm feeling very melancholy today.

It's been a stressful few weeks - gcses, illness, ds1 turning 16, leaving school....I feel quite discombobulated.

I must sniff aura next time I'm in town!

BuggaLugga · 16/06/2019 11:30

Hi all I'm new to this! How do you find the more unusual fragrances? I live in a small city , we have a jo malone so I have a few from there (current favourite patchouli and lupin from the limited edition spring collection - now sold out but luckily I bought 2 as everyone at work kept commenting on it!) - but other than m and s which have some nice ones and John Lewis which has Chanel etc how do you find the more unusual ones,? Do you buy samples online?
I wondered if a perfume society box might be a good start?
Thanks!

MrsMoggs · 16/06/2019 12:49

MotherOfDragonite · 16/06/2019 16:25

@BuggaLugga I went crazy and bought loads of samples from places I was interested in after looking on Fragrantica and on here. If you look up your favourite fragrances on Fragrantica it will suggest others that you may like (to the left of the main screen).

Miller Harris was great for sniffing lots of interesting things and getting a grip on what smelled like what -- they have some shops if you're near one.

We are all addicted to 4160 Tuesdays here (shout out: is anyone actually not?) but I found them a bit weird to start with. Possibly one for a bit later, if I'm anything to go by? Love them now though, they are so clever.

And then finally I got a discovery box from the Perfume Society and that was ace :-)

MotherOfDragonite · 16/06/2019 16:26

Buffy Flowers for you, these kind of occasions can be so tough.

MotherOfDragonite · 16/06/2019 16:27

Bugga, personally I found the Andy Tauer fragrances a real revelation, they really introduced me to the possibilities of scent in a way that I'd never discovered before with mainstream perfume. Worth a sniff -- you can get sample sets from his website, they are wonderful.

MrsMoggs · 16/06/2019 16:40

Plus a copy of Turin and Sanchez's, Perfumes - The A-Z Guide, followed by eBay😀

BuggaLugga · 16/06/2019 17:11

Thanks for the suggestions! I will look into them.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 16/06/2019 18:25

mother I don’t like any 4160s except What I Did On My Holidays, which is actually my SOTD. There is something just a bit off about them for me.

buffy I am struggling today too, so a weepy fistbump. I find all the stupid marketing emails so upsetting too!

Hi, been absent from here for a bit.
No SOTD yet. Many of my perfumes are summery. I’ve got a paid internship coming up soon, I think I may have to buy a perfume (or two)... one of the ones I like is a nice citrus one. Perfect for this time of year... if only the weather wasn’t so meh.

Iambuffy · 16/06/2019 19:08

Thank you judy. Hugs to you x

I like a few of the 4160s. Just not the floral ones! I think what she does is very clever, but sometimes I don't want to wear something clever - just something that smells nice! :)

I'm into my back up bottle of Pp by the fireplace....Good job I bought it....oos atm!! 😵

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 16/06/2019 19:19

Hugs to you too Judy
And thank you Teta

SOTE is Elizabeth & James Nirvana White. I love the violet in it & goes well with the Lily of Valley.
Well I never knew LotV (plant) was poisonous if digested!

I've yet to try any 4160 Tuesdays but I'm tempted by Goodbye Piccadilly, Rome 1963 & of course Freeway.
