Yeah. I'd try it 1st *Judy?

Not sure ds1 is that keen on 4160 WIDOMH!

Iambuffy · 14/06/2019 14:56

I dont know why that ? Is in there judy

Iambuffy · 14/06/2019 15:08

Dirty amber!?
Smells right up my street! :)

MrsMoggs · 14/06/2019 17:15

I see Midnight in the Palace Garden (parfum strength) is SotW. Would be perfect for these long lush radiant green evenings, if it wasn't so darn wet and cold.

MaudBaileysGreenTurban · 14/06/2019 17:43

I was just popping back to post about MitPG, MrsM. Probably a good thing that it's never worked for me...although I don't think I've tried the parfum strength before?

MotherOfDragonite · 14/06/2019 17:46

MrsMoggs, Midnight in the Palace Garden sounds lush!

Who has had a good sniff? Would I like it? I am so terrible.

cantbelievemyeyes · 14/06/2019 18:05

Was also wondering about the scent of the week, not tried that one...

Bodyonme · 14/06/2019 18:33

Fleurs de sel lovers, do any of you want what's left of my sample? I can't get on with salty smells!

Sotd was Tocca Brigitte after the Tocca discussion this morning!

SmellMySmellbow · 14/06/2019 18:51

@Bodyonme I would love a sample if poss - I couldn't find it on notino! I'd love to try it...

MrsMoggs · 14/06/2019 20:23

Mother - it has huge and magnificent ripe fruit and wood symphonic opening, featuring a fermented fizz that turbo-charges the first hour or so (recall Sarah Mc describing it as being like a fruit bowl you forgot to empty before going on holiday? Big over-ripe citrus note). It settles into a rich but amiably light woody base. It is luxurious in a very relaxed way.

Bodyonme · 14/06/2019 20:28

No problem Smellbow, PM me your address and I'll get it in the post next week for you!

MrsMoggs · 14/06/2019 20:42

Have a feeling it's only ever been released as parfum, Maud? A lot of The Crimes of Passion were.

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 14/06/2019 23:47

SOTD was M&S Island Escape Seasalt & Bergamot borrowed from DD. Smells like margaritas, hot pavements & ocean on her.......not so much on me.
And I got told off for borrowing it. She's only 12 Blush

MotherOfDragonite · 15/06/2019 09:42

I think I have a 4160 Tuesdays problem. Seriously tempted by the sound of Midnight in the Palace Garden!

In real life, I am wearing Commodity Gold.

Iambuffy · 15/06/2019 09:45

mother do you want the 4160 TSB?

teta · 15/06/2019 10:42

@TracyBeakerSoYeah I get that too.Dd1 has worn that perfume for years and it smells stunning on her. On me it just smells stinky ( very non technical term!) . Her favourite though is Shay and Blue Blood Orange from last years summer beauty box.
Are m&s doing a box this year? She likes to smell nice and try new make up while calving, milking and grooming Grin. Even if the rest of her is covered in poop.

Housewife2010 · 15/06/2019 11:19

Hello. Can I join? I've rediscovered Diptyque's L'Ombre Dans L'Eau this week. It's a perfect wet Summer scent so perfect for a damp June. ( My wet Spring scent is Guerlain's Aqua Allegoria Herba Fresca which reminds me of a wet garden. )

MaudBaileysGreenTurban · 15/06/2019 11:59

Talking of dcs and borrowing perfume... I could smell something familiar this morning as ds was getting ready to go out. Went into his room and realised he's nicked my 4160's Rhubarb & Citrus!! Cheeky bugger; it's one of my favourites. He's also powered through the sample of Tauer L'eau in a matter of days.

It's his birthday next week so, while I'm happy to keep him supplied with samples, it looks as though a good unisex scent might be worth buying for him. I don't want to spend too much (sorry ds) as he sprays, um, liberally - any ideas? He's had Cool Water and CK One Summer in the past. I think something a bit unusual might go down well.

What would be good for a 16-year -old boy who's clearly up for experimenting with scent ? Grin Grin

MrsMoggs · 15/06/2019 13:26

Maud - take him to Lush and let him choose something from Gorilla? If you can get to Liverpool, an afternoon here would be amazing (if not necessarily cheap...).

I haven't bought from Direct Cosmetics but they have some very reasonably priced Le Couvent des Minimes - fits the unisex brief.

MotherOfDragonite · 15/06/2019 13:32

Oh no buffy -- you didn't get on with it? I had tried a sample before and decided it wasn't for me. It's lovely but just not me. My 4160 Tuesdays problem is pretty bad though as I have picked up Freeway, Amberama (blind buy and mistake) and Centrepiece in pretty quick succession in the half price scent of the week! Plus a 9 ml of Eau My Soul on full price because I couldn't live without it, eek.

Interesting question, maud! What's a rough price guide? I wonder if a discounted Miller Harris might fit the bill as some of those smell awesome on chaps IMHO -- Vetiver Insolent? Or a citrus one, or a tea one?

Iambuffy · 15/06/2019 13:37

It is lovely but yet again I struggle with florals:(

My ds1 likes dirty by lush. You can get all sorts of products in the scent.
It's sort of minty and fresh

MrsMoggs · 15/06/2019 13:43

Yes Teta out on 18/6 I think, and has a 10 ml? S&B (Cherry Blossom?)?

Iambuffy · 15/06/2019 16:51

Off out for ds1s belated birthday meal...I'm wearing my beloved Avon nightmusk.

I find this hot, muggy, wet, humid weather really difficult wrt scent.

Last summer I lived in 4160 Tuesdays mrsgloss indoors, mrsgloss lemon sherbert and next eau nude.

None of them seem quite right today.

teta · 15/06/2019 17:06

Ooh really, thank you @MrsMoggs.
DD will be thrilled.
I will buy one for her as a surprise.
@MaudBaileysGreenTurban your son has very good taste. Mine still uses Lynx deodorant and hates all my perfumes, as they make him feel sick.

MrsMoggs · 15/06/2019 20:10

Avon demonstrator set up in one hour on eBay. Not sure how old it is??
