That was my perfume as a teenager.
I used to save up & wait for the GWP Umbrella. I think at one point I had 3 Gloria umbrellas on the go. The handle was a swans head. (Not a real swan I hasten to add)
Tried Gloria V again about 10 years ago & it didn't smell the same, I suppose that's your skin chemistry changing as you get older.
Plus it reminded me of my stupid first proper boyfriend......

Mother I'm sorry that you & your DD had to put up with that.
As your DD gets older she'll come to realise what her Father is really like & that will be sad for him. But serves him right.

wax thinking that MitPG reminds me most of Babylon Sunset (because of the big fruit and sandalwood opening). But MitPG is a bit more knowing (is it the indolic jasmine that suggests the presence of oud, or is there some actually in the mix?).

Haven't smelt Vanderbilt for years

I don’t know about Vanderbilt.
I got a Kate Spade perfume last year for my birthday, I remember my aunt telling me she’d bought it before Kate Spade died. It’s a really lovely perfume, nice and floral, with some lemon and peach notes apparently.

Yes, MrsMoggs, “knowing” is a good word for MPG. I do feel I haven’t got to grips with it properly and need more time. It’s interesting, that’s for sure, with different notes morphing in and out.

SOTD was 4160Tuesdays Sex Goddess. It has a very pretty violet/rose drydown. Not goddess-like, though.

I'm so undecided about MPG now after those descriptions. I wish I had a sample as part of me thinks I would love it!

SOTE Diptyque Volutes EDP. Totally too heavy for hot weather, but lovely -- I must revisit it again in the fall. Perhaps the first tobacco-heavy scent I've really liked. And some other scent that's familiar from somewhere, but which I can't recognise.

Mother, I will pop a sample of MPG in the post to you today. It’s definitely not one to be bought untested.

I'm in quite a lot of White Queen today. It's...potent.

My Notino samples have arrived! Out of the bottle I like the smell of Hermés Un Jardin Sur Le Nil and Un Jardin Mediterranée and Piguet Petit Fracas. Currently wearing Un Jardin Mediterranée as it spilled all iver me trying to wrangle the lid off the 1ml sample bottle (they are so hard to remove without spilling!) and I can't stop sniffing myself. I can't describe smells - my nose isn't sophisticated enough at all, but I know what I like and I'm liking this after 5 mins!

SotD Tea Tonique. Haven't worn this for a while and I liked it more than I remembered.

All shattered here after sports days and football. Lovely day though thankfully.

DKNY Be Delicious today. Then went into a shop and retried Lancôme Ô de l’Orangerie just to double check the smell... mmm it’s so good. I’m starting a (paid) internship next month so will get my mitts on it then.

SOTD Michael Kors Wonderlust. I've worn this a few times & wasn't sure if I liked it as it had undertones of Joop Homme which is rank imo.
Now have worn the Wonderlust today & I'm getting that creamy Michael Kors vibe that's in all his perfumes, a teeny coconut note & now a few hours later a lovely orange blossom slightly bubble gum smell that you get from Mock Orange/Philadelphus. And no hint of the yukky Joop.
I wonder if just before my fluey cold appeared, the virus made me smell different?

SOTD Heeley Sel Marin.

I spent yesterday in a and e with mum.
She was kept in overnight so got to go back in later.
Then I got a phone call that my dear aunt is dying over in Ireland.
And dh left for a week away with work at 7am.
Missed a dental appt that no doubt they will charge me for and an important school meeting about ds2s residential trip.
Quite fed up this morning.

SOTD is...no idea yet. It's ds's 16th birthday today so, though I'm supposed to be marking, I am going to take him into town to buy him a new phone . Weather is damp and drear so it'll need to be something cosy.
