Great feeling isn't it, MiniFloof also did extraordinarily well (I shall take a non stealth boast opportunity when I can, next year I have a DC who won't be sitting many GCSEs - and we will be thrilled with any numbers! - so I also have lots of sympathy for disappointing/unexpected results)

My SOTD, funnily enough, was First by Van Cleef & Arples. A random dip into the sample box! Very appropriate and I adore it. Old fashioned flowers and wardrobes. It requires matching shoes and handbags but I think everything does anyway

(There was talk of the MG lids making suitable weapons, I seem to remember. I feel they may come in handy for chucking through windows when we are chained to railings and clutching placards in the upcoming months )

Woke up to doggie diarrhoea everywhere ( sorry to mention non fragrant things) . He's not been right since being in kennels. Came back 4 kgs lighter with a raging eye infection to boot.

After the adrenaline of yesterday's results it's been nice to lounge in the sunshine with a book and SOTD Eau d'Hadrien from the HN box.

At last, a citrus I can get on board with! It was one of the first perfumes that stuck in my mind when lurking on the very early perfumista threads - I think quite a few posters were wearing it one summer - but my aversion to lemony perfumes meant I'd never tried it. I'm happy to report that, although fairly fleeting, it's lovely. Starts off fizzy and fresh but not screechy (which is what citruses often end up as on me) and the drydown brings out a wonderful adehylic woodyness that is both invigorating and comforting. Hurrah! Good old Goutal

We're off on a micro holiday this weekend as we've not been able to book any proper time away because of the café. I can only really wear one perfume for the Sunday and take one perfume for the Monday so - what will suit the northern irish coast and traditional seaside pursuits?? MMM Sailing Day and Beach Walk feel a bit... unimaginative! And I don't want to take any of the new HN box ones as they're too precious!! Any suggestions?

SOTD MG Lemon, thanks to hooo. Don’t be daft re the lid, they are SO heavy! It was perfect for a warm day at work.

DP is off to the cricket this weekend so I have done all the cleaning, had M&S tea, and plan not to leave the house again until Monday. No bank holiday here, annoyingly.

Lovely sparkly citrus

It's dark green 😁 but does look black in the photo. I'm veering towards the green as I wear a lot of those shades. I love black but as a soft autumn it's too harsh on.
