Good luck for both mini floofies and Hoos tomorrow. I remember not sleeping the night before dd1 results.
I've just discovered all Hrt patches are out of stock everywhere.
H is in India so I've messaged him to see if he can get some. He will probably come back with something strange instead . Like sacred cow patches or something equally bizarre .
Sotd is Ffern .

Hoooo · 21/08/2019 11:35

Hoooo · 21/08/2019 12:39

Hoooo · 21/08/2019 12:39

Oh. And my ebay vintage obsession is fake!

MaudBaileysGreenTurban · 21/08/2019 15:33

Hoooo Flowers for you and your mum.

Yes, GCSE results horror first thing tomorrow chez Maud, too. What perfume would suit a mixture of dread, hope, pride, love and fear? Grin

Hoooo · 21/08/2019 16:48

No idea!
Let me know if you think of one! :)

theansweris42 · 21/08/2019 17:30

Hello, do you give recommendations?
I'm looking for something I've not had before.
I like spice, citrus, exotic...
I love Chanel Cristalle, Laura Biagiotti Venezia and the dark Jo Malone perfumes. I love Violet, Frankincense and Bergamot too.
Am middle aged NHS manager with 2 DSs and peri menopausal. Need a boost!
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

MrsMoggs · 21/08/2019 19:37

Welcome 42. We often suggest trying a few things in small quantities...If this appeals it might be worth looking at The Perfume Society's discovery boxes, including the current collaboration with Harvey Nichols, which contains travel sized bottles (and you can always swap anything you don't like here with us Grin).

Also worth a peek at indie perfumery, 4160Tuesdays, who do sample sets and 9ml bottles, so you can experiment a bit. You might like Shazam! a big radiant orange/oriental that is so uplifting is should be prescribed (note: it does have a bit of a hippy vibe), also oriental gourmand White Queen (big frankincense note)?

Am sure other people will be along with ideas... Smile

Hoooo · 21/08/2019 19:37

Get yourself some estee lauder cinnabar, l artisan perfumer eau de ambre or calvin klein obsession :)

Hoooo · 21/08/2019 19:39

Andy tauer perfume is grearlt for Frankincense and myrrh notes...
LADDM or ACDD

theansweris42 · 21/08/2019 19:58

Thank you for the ideas I'll have a Google and maybe try some small/sample sizes.
Exciting Smile

MaudBaileysGreenTurban · 21/08/2019 20:15

Frankincense is one of my favourite notes - I would second all the suggestions made here and also point out that Comme des Garcons' 'Incense' line is fabulous for lovers of the exotic.

Also try Bloom Perfumery for sample sets like this one or this one

My fave violet perfume is Lush's Kerbside Violet but it divides opinion (it's very earthy and realistic imo) but you might also want to try Apres l'Ondee (transparent yet spicy) or Insolence (parma violets), both by Guerlain

theansweris42 · 21/08/2019 20:37

Fab am making a list for a fragrance department recce.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 21/08/2019 21:15

SOTD MMM Lipstick On.

What is it with medication shortages? Brexit? I couldn’t get my IBS meds for months earlier in the year.

floofy my birthday was in February, so this was a very belated present! We’re in different cities so tend to only see one another a couple of times a year.

Hoooo · 22/08/2019 07:33

Me too, maud!

In the good old days we could have fortified ourselves with a dose of laudanum 🤣🤣

MaudBaileysGreenTurban · 22/08/2019 07:42
Grin

I had a terrible headache all night and at 3am did contemplate taking a nice big dose of co-codamol and just drifting through the day today!

Keeping fingers crossed for your ds, hoooo x

Hoooo · 22/08/2019 07:46

Yours too xx

FloofyCatDoesAwfullyBadThings · 22/08/2019 08:52

Judging by the total fuck up that seems to have been made of the "new style" curriculums/gradings for both GCSE and A levels and the carnage in the Floofy house on A levels day may I suggest Chance as SOTD? And Brew and Cake. If all else fails, I have some tramadol Grin maud you can be first in the queue (only joking before anyone PMs me Wink)

42 I wonder if you would like Sisley Eau de Soir? It's what popped into my mind when I read your post.

Hoooo · 22/08/2019 09:15

I've gone for avon lbd

MaudBaileysGreenTurban · 22/08/2019 12:21

MrsM, your package arrived, thank you! Bois Vanille is divine, I love it. I will pop yours on the post today now that the GCSE horror is over 🙃

Hoooo · 22/08/2019 19:28

Exhausting day...

Ds1 did brilliantly :)

Sote pp by the fireplace

Bodyonme · 22/08/2019 20:22

Hope all the mini perfumistas are happy with their GCSE results!

MrsMoggs, if the offer is still valid, please can I swap bella oudh for the memo? I've been trying both and I think I will use more of the memo. Please PM me your address if you still want to swap!

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 22/08/2019 20:57

hooo the MG Lemon arrived, thanks so much! Will be giving it a proper outing tomorrow. SOTD NRFH. Wishing all GCSE recipients big smiley faces!
