Ooh....I've just Dabt.
Found a new bottle of Private Collection Jasmin White Moss in the Department store. I had a 10 ml decant of this year's ago and have craved it ever since. Only to find out it was discontinued.
It's just so green and beautiful and yes, it reminds me of Cristalle somewhat, crossed with one of the vintage Diors.

Bodyonme · 03/08/2019 15:53

I have also ordered the Perfume Society box, it was too tempting and DH offered to treat me!

Sotd PP Paris. Never smelt the original so don't know how good a dupe it is but it's lovely! Powdery rose and violets, yum.

It's made me realise that I'm never going to get on with Tauer's Une Rose Vermeille though even though it's also a rose and violet combo. I don't suppose anyone would like to swap my sample of it for a sample of phi une rose de kandahar or rose flash? Or habanita?

Iambuffy · 03/08/2019 16:27

Do love all the DABT's :)

cantbelievemyeyes · 03/08/2019 16:43

Bodyonme I could do a swap for Rose Flash, I have loads left? PM me if you don't get a better offer Smile

Iambuffy · 03/08/2019 21:14

Sote my beloved pp by the fireplace

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 03/08/2019 22:47

SOTD Chanel 19. mother I know it’s not the same, but my cat had a “very upset stomach” through the night, both ends. She was smart enough to go into the bathroom, at least.

MotherOfDragonite · 04/08/2019 12:24

Judy, I'm torn between thinking YUCK and being very impressed that your cat is smart enough to head for the bathroom. Well done, catto!

Iambuffy · 04/08/2019 12:45

Sotd Avon lbd weekend

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 04/08/2019 14:47

mother she’s only been sick once previously, and did exactly the same then. It was definitely yuck, but far less yuck than in a room with carpets!

SOTD is Zoologist Dodo. Salty, green, fruity. I do actually rather enjoy this one but haven't yet sniffed a Zoologist that would tempt me to a FB. They are clever and imaginative; I admire them rather than love them. calm have you tried your sample yet, what do you think?

FloofyCatDoesVeryBadThings · 04/08/2019 17:21

V interested in the Zoologist reviews. I've only tried Hummingbird (courtesy of Count Smile) and it was definitely imaginative, and fabulous to try something different. Thought provoking. Unfortunately I think I'm not sophisticated enough to really appreciate it Blushas had no idea there were so many notes, when I looked it up.

Talking of unsophisticated Wink I totally forgot to report back on DH's Secretions Magnifique (again thanks to Count!). Well it was somewhat of an anti climax We did laugh a lot when he opened it so it was very successful in that sense but DH was adamant he couldn't smell anything Hmm I was too scared to sniff deeply but there was definitely an unpleasant retch-y feeling at the back of my throat (why does all this sound so...dirty WinkGrin)

Pulling sympathy faces for un fragrant babies/pets. My DCat has an unfortunate habit of deliberately only being sick on the stairs - we have a dark stairwell so it's always an unpleasant surprise to step in it, especially on crutches! Imagine the life insurance claim Smile

Hoooo · 04/08/2019 18:03

Sote Avon lbd

Rather like this. May have to get an fb when its next on offer

I've just gone through my perfume drawer and 2 large sample boxes...😮

NO MORE PERFUME THIS SUMMER!!😫

Hoooo · 04/08/2019 18:05

(Oh its buffy btw!....)

MrsMoggs · 04/08/2019 20:57

I wondered if that was a Grinch reference, but I see they start with a W.

Have been looking for things to sell on ebay, to offset the cost of a TPS box, but selling is very slow going right now.

SotD has been Nuxe Le Matin Des Possible, which is a simple but satisfying petit grain, orange blossom and musk combo. The orange opening made me think of Lyn Harris's, Le Cologne, but that quickly gets much herbier (has that warm elastoplast thyme note).

Dodo sounds interesting, although the only salty note I so far really get on with is in Fleurs de Sel. I'd love a FB of Bat and Civet.

cantbelievemyeyes · 04/08/2019 21:17

I really shouldn't have bought the Harvey Nick's box but it's done now, meh. Random cheapie buy yesterday was EA Blue Grass- at £3.99 for 30ml I couldn't not. Actually very surprised how much I like it! A bit much for a minute or so, but then it's just straight up expensive soap with a bit of spiciness. Can see it getting some decent use.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 04/08/2019 21:56

SOTD Courreges Hyperbole. I suspect that’s not the correct spelling, but too lazy to go and check.

floofy my cat is never sick, so this was a very unpleasant surprise. Annoyingly she is now refusing to touch the “orange” flavour of food, which is what she ate just before being unwell. She will only eat one type of cat food, which comes in four colours (flavours) so this is a huge pain.

I DABT.

I saw an ad on Facebook for a new fragrance subscription called Ffern. And I ordered some of their summer EDT. Annoyingly, I really like it (it comes with a sample on the outside so you can send it back, free of cost, if you don't...). It's very unisex and very fragrantly herbal and gorgeous for the warm weather.

Hoooo · 04/08/2019 22:41

Oh, I've seen that!

Glad you like it :)

CountFosco · 05/08/2019 00:35

SotD EA Green Tea.

Floofy Hummingbird does have an insane number of notes. It's much fruitier than my usual loves as well. I tried a few Zoologists last year and really enjoyed them all. Civit was my favourite I think, like eating toast and butter with a cat on your lap.

teta · 05/08/2019 05:41

Mother now I really want to try ffern as it sounds delicious. Did you have to sign up for at least two bottles?
We’re here in our concrete pods. Very comfy beds, outside private shower with massive 🕷 ,We’re miles from anywhere. So we have a hire car. The nearest supermarket is totally dry😮 so we had to drive around to find beer.

Hoooo · 05/08/2019 10:18

Pod sounds interesting teta!

Bodyonme · 05/08/2019 18:18

Oh yes please can't! Will PM you this evening.

MrsMoggs, I've had the Nuxe Le Matin on today as well, it's lasted fairly well on clothes but has disappeared on skin. I prefer Le Soir but they are both nice and very wearable.

MaudBaileysGreenTurban · 05/08/2019 19:01

SOTE is L'AP Vanille Insensee (cba with accents). I love this; I bought it in NYC and it always reminds me of being there.

My L'heure Bleue arrived 😍 I think it might replace 24 Faubourg as the ultimate grown-up scent. Although Faubourg is more meet-the-headmaster grown- up while LHB is silk-negligee grown- up.... Either way, bloody marvellous stuff.

Calmasasleepycat · 05/08/2019 22:10

So frustrating - I’ve just lost 20 minutes worth of post because my page decided to reload 😨. I was trying to describe Dodo and Chameleon for Maud. They are so difficult to get a handle on, so I was struggling. Neither of them are FB worthy for me, I think, but are so interesting. They have masses of notes and I couldn’t really pick them out, so I just decided to not to take any notice of notes and describe how they smell to me.

Chameleon starts off with bright lemon (and wee-wee but that soon wears off), then turns into fruity bubblegum before drying down to a very pleasant salty earth note, like taking a coastal walk when the tide’s out. Other reviewers are getting lovely tropical notes, but not me 😨. I have a bit left so will try it again in colder weather.

Dodo has a green opening, but it’s not a squished grassy green, more of a baked-in-the-sun vegetation green. Then I smell scented coal, like a coal fire from the 50s before it is lit. It’s mineral rather than floral, but very fragrant. It’s very distinctive and I keep sniffing my arm.

I own full bottles of Elephant and now Civet. The others I particularly liked were Beaver, Moth and Bat.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 05/08/2019 22:11

SOTD FM Hiver.
