I've been wearing my beauty pie samples the last few days. Like them a lot. They're easy wears - pretty familiar, and don't seduce or challenge me, but are good value and very pleasing. Could happily buy fbs.

I love zoologist. Need to try dodo. Think a trip to bloom is in order.

Sotd Avon lbd

Hoooo · 06/08/2019 09:34

Just bought a 30ml of this for £3.79

Very nice inoffensive scent.

MaudBaileysGreenTurban · 06/08/2019 11:07

Have you been wearing your beauty pie samples then, lots? Grin

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 06/08/2019 16:30

Talking about Chameleons we had a house pet last night. A very noisy Gecko in our concrete pod. Ds 1 woke me up in fright as he though he heard someone unlocking the door ....... It was the Gecko.
And I have 16 mosi bites on my foot ......Ds2 rates this hotel as a 2* as he's fed up of it and the mosi's. I actually rather like it as it's so unique
Sprayed a wonderful lemon verbena body spray on me today but can't remember the shop name . But have a feeling it was a Korean beauty place as the DD's have bought shit loads of the skincare and make up.
I've brought some brow mascara as the DD's said I needed some brow definition . Sotd was fleur du matin this morning.
Mother I've ordered a bottle of the Ffern summer perfume as it sounds so intriguing.

Bodyonme · 06/08/2019 19:29

Your travels sound amazing teta, don't suppose you have a blog do you, I'd love to see pictures!

Judy, snap, well the PP version. Proper old school perfume, I feel like I should be in a skirt suit and pearls instead of jeans!

MaudBaileysGreenTurban · 06/08/2019 20:11

SOTD has been Tauer Incense Rose. I might wear L'heure bleue to bed tonight (in about an hour, I think, I'm shattered)

teta, sounds fascinating, although I think I'd die of mosquito bites, they seem to love me.

calm I agree with your Dodo review. It is very distinctive and yes to the minerality; I think that's what I was smelling as a salty note.

Hoooo · 06/08/2019 21:25

Sote 4160 amber woods

MrsMoggs · 06/08/2019 21:44

Just sold two pairs of shoes; a BT beckons....

Tell us about Amber Woods Hooo - was laughing about the Men in Tents misunderstanding on the 4160T website.

Your trip, if not the mosquitoes and social unrest, sounds amazing Teta.

Maud - glad you love L'HB. You had me wondering about what to wear if you were planning to sleep with a Head Teacher. Must be my hormones.-

Hoooo · 06/08/2019 21:57

Its lovely!
And for £20 for 30mls I couldn't not...:)
It's very similar to amberama tbh but without the raspberry note and, as you would expect, more woodsy in the drydown :)
Very wearable imo.

MrsMoggs · 06/08/2019 22:03

Have been trying out Santal Sky (Kierin) today. Quite a green airy sandalwood. I like it more than Santal 33 - it's less bleak, and more rounded-out, including by saffron. But beginning to think I might be better with sweet, milky sandalwoods. I do love Kenzo's L'Elephant.

Hoooo · 06/08/2019 22:08

Mrs moggs...have you tried Z&V this is her?

I think you'd like it!

MrsMoggs · 06/08/2019 22:21

Spot on Hooo! Thanks to Calm, yes I have, and it's lovely. (I pick up an almost minty note in the opening that baffles me though).

Sad to report there has been a calamitous leak affecting 'Calm Corner' and consequently most of Calm's careful labelling has been lost Shock. But good for lucky dips now Smile.

Hoooo · 06/08/2019 22:38

Ah! :)
I don't get mint from it though.

MrsMoggs · 06/08/2019 22:40

Not sure if I imagine it as there isn't anything listed that would explain it...

Lotsofpots · 07/08/2019 07:01

Oh FFS. Stupid app telling me my post wouldn't post. Soz.

Hoooo · 07/08/2019 14:35

Sotd estee lauder modern muse nuit

Calmasasleepycat · 07/08/2019 19:20

MrsMoggs and Hooo!, I have retested This is Her and there is a minty note, like a minty toffee, that I haven’t noticed before. I get the same note from MadonnaTruth or Dare Naked. No mint is listed in either one, so I think it’s a matter of nose interpretation!

MrsMoggs, I will pm you with a list of what I’ve sent you. I like to make a note so that I don’t double up, although I can’t promise that there aren’t any missing from the list!

SOTD was Caron Eau de Reglisse, a lemony liquorice with an earthy drydown. I keep going back to it.

JaimeBronde · 07/08/2019 19:49

MrsMoggs my initial reaction to Santal Sky was a no because all I could smell was the saffron which I hate. To me saffron smells like bleach which I hate after an unfortunate root canal experience with a dentist years ago. The dentist accidentally slipped & dropped the hydrogen peroxide sprayer into my mouth towards my throat & I ended up having a not very pleasant drink of bleachy water. So as soon as I smell anything bleachy (apart from Domestos) I start to taste it & sometimes can feel a bit nauseous
But I persevered & after the initial bleach undertone disappeared I get this glorious soft warm slightly spicy resinous wood with that green note which I'm loving.
10am Flirt (Kierin) is gorgeous too, figgy & floral with that almost edible sharp green note I get in FS Neon Rose & Chanel Bel Respiro.
Floofy have you tried 10am Flirt as I think you may like it?

Maud L'Heure Bleu was one of my signature scents years ago. The carnation & neroli notes stood out on me. I get what you mean about the grown up sexy smell.

SOTD is Monotheme Tuberose (had a few sprays in M&S) a big white evening floral with what I call a hint of beehive smell. (PIL's friend has his beehives in the field at the bottom of their garden. In the height of summer when near the beehives you get a honey/flower/sex/naked skin smell which is absolutely gorgeous!)

Hoooo · 07/08/2019 20:45

Hmmm

I'll have to retest....
