Sotd Avon lbd weekend

Iambuffy · 30/07/2019 14:00

I feel very bad that I've DABT...

But mot that bad...

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 30/07/2019 19:46

SOTD Heeley Hippie Rose. Yesterday was POAL. I must be on a Rose kick at the moment.

OP posts:
JaimeBronde · 30/07/2019 20:02

Must be roses in the air or something as SotD is FS Neon Rose. My absolute favourite at the moment.
I've not DABT but I've done a pick n mix at Feel Unique. I have
Proenza Schouler Arizona
Huda Beauty Kayali Citrus
Kierin NYC Santal Sky
& their 10am Flirt.
I also got some more Neon Rose because I love it so much Blush

MrsMoggs · 30/07/2019 21:47

SotD was Givenchy III. In a restless mood tonight so have sniffed around my vintage drawer and settled on a) Eau de Gucci Concentree. Can't decide if this is more purple than green, but it is a fresh floral on a warm sandalwood base. Big-boned and handsome rather than sweet or pretty - they don't make them like this anymore. Floral in the same assertive style as vintage Missoni, although the notes are quite different. Also b) Scandal, Lanvin - an outrageously seductive balance between a beautiful purple iris and delicate but dirty musky leather.

Iambuffy · 30/07/2019 22:08

Odd day here too.
I might just pretend it never happened tbh
Sote convent les minimes (sp?)

MrsMoggs · 31/07/2019 08:26

Think it's because of my new Korres violet shower gel, but I'm having a purple flowers moment. SotD is L'Heure Bleue.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 31/07/2019 13:05

SOTD Diptyque Philosykos. MrsM that shower gel sounds so lovely - I had a look but couldn’t find it online, did you buy it in Greece? My favourite Korres is the lavender one, but I do like the fig, and Santorini Vine too.

I'm very tempted by a bottle of L'heure bleue that's lurking on allbeauty...

Ugh. 4 hours of sleep last night due to the back-to-work dreads. Knackered, and have returned right back into the thick of it. A colleague jokingly asked me this morning whether they were all giving me the impression that everything collapses into chaos as soon as I go on holiday...I politely said 'noooooo of course not!' but secretly was thinking, god you useless buggers can't do anything without me holding your hands can you? Hmm

Don't get me wrong, I don't think I'm irreplaceable or nuffink, but blimey people, show a little initiative...

Sorry, boring work rant over Grin SOTD is the rather fabulous Rouge Avignon by Phaedon. I like this better each time I wear it.

Iambuffy · 31/07/2019 16:22

Sounds very familiar maud!!

I'm feeling sorry for myself atm. Failed coil fitting. They think the op I had last year left too much scar tissue :(

Bloody hell, its sore! :(

Sotd Z&V this is her.

Calmasasleepycat · 31/07/2019 17:23

Bloom Perfumery are having a 20% off sale. It only lasted 3 days and today is the last day, so I have definitely DABT and bought a bottle of Zoologist Civet! The 20% discount more than covers the hefty postage costs. This has been top of my wish list, together with Andy Tauer’s Au Coeur du Desert. Here is a link if anyone’s interested. Bloom Perfumery.

SOTD has been Miller Harris Cassis En Feuille, a very green blackcurrant and tomato leaves perfume.

I love to hear about your vintage perfumes MrsMoggs. I, too, love L’Heure Bleu. I would never want to be without it. It’s a favourite bedtime perfume for me.

MaudBaileysGreenTurban · 31/07/2019 17:44

I am studiously ignoring your link calm Grin

buffy, ouch, sounds horrid. Hope you feel better soon.

Do I need that bottle of L'heure bleue, then? I've sampled it in-store and do like it, but I think I need to live with it to really love it, iyswim?

floofy, I've not tried any PP Shock. I really should, shouldn't I?

Iambuffy · 31/07/2019 18:10

Can't advise maud I'm not a guerlain fan and I think l heure bleue smells like lavender zoflora...
(Gets coat...)

Calmasasleepycat · 31/07/2019 19:37

I shall be looking out for Lavender Zoflora now ....

Calmasasleepycat · 31/07/2019 20:06

... But L’Heure Bleue is mostly iris on me, with powdery soft florals. It is one of those perfumes that becomes part of your skin.

Iambuffy · 31/07/2019 20:49

It's the guerlinade.

It's my fragrant nemesis!

MrsMoggs · 31/07/2019 21:08

I have been wearing modern L'Heure Bleue today and it's lovely and yes Maud you probably do need some Smile. The debate is whether to hold out for vintage (probably not - modern is good and the top notes seem very prone to being off in vintage bottles)?

Nothing at all like lavender Zoflora which is also very lovely (do you remember when we all had a big Zoflora crush and PIAM flew bottles and bottles of the stuff home with her before seeing the highly flammable warning? Shock).

Lavender Zoflora reminds me more of S&B Suffolk Lavender which is a very incensy sort of lavender, and also lovely Grin.

Jicky really should crop up about now - a marmite lavender Smile?

Yes, Judy I did! I had a big Korres haul from a local pharmacy; lots of buy 1 get 1 free packs. Consequently I was that embarrassing person dumping stuff out of my case at check-in to avoid excess baggage charges Blush and then I bought some more at duty free. A lot of presents, and the rest I'm going to style out as Brexit prepping Smile.

Calm - I am very jealous of your Civet and am going to pretend I have't seen your link. Or Buffy's.

MaudBaileysGreenTurban · 01/08/2019 07:01

Oh well, since you've all been so persuasive Wink

Good old allbeauty. I had to have it delivered to work though, otherwise there would be eyerolling Grin. It's a classic really and probably vital for any perfumista's collection, so I don't feel tooooo bad!

SOTD is Phi Une Rose de Kandahar, courtesy of the lovely teta.

Iambuffy · 01/08/2019 16:26

Perfume society boxes have arrived :)
I've got a box of samples for mum and there were several I really liked...estee lauder modern muse nuit, MH sherzo, MH tender, JHAG vanilla vibes...

Not sure about scent of a dream...

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 01/08/2019 21:10

SOTD Tauer Lonestar Memories. I don’t wear this nearly as often as I should - a smidge too much and it is TOO MUCH, but the right amount is heaven.

mrsM I just did a Korres order from M&S, they have a pack of four shower gels for £20 at the moment. We have a huge walk-in cupboard in the hall (I think some other houses in the street have converted it into a shower room) and DP calls it my apothecary because it’s full of my stash. He will laugh on the other side of his face come Brexit. (Although I am not sure how much toothpaste and deodorant we can eat.)

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 01/08/2019 21:11

buffy SOAD smells like Elnett.

OP posts:
Iambuffy · 01/08/2019 21:27

I can't decide what it smells of...I get none of the base notes...

MrsMoggs · 01/08/2019 21:35

Several MHs on the TK Maxx website today including Coeur de Jardin and La Fumee (think they were a very reasonable £34.99 for 100mls).

Judy if it comes to it, and you need chick peas or kidney beans, just let me know. Note to wannabe preppers: worth checking how many you already have in the cupboard before stocking-up. Shock

Calmasasleepycat · 01/08/2019 21:46

I held off the Perfume Society offer because I wasn’t sure I would like SOAD. Fragrantica shows patchouli as a strong note for most reviewers and it can sometimes be unpleasant to my nose so I thought I would wait for one of you to report back. I’m glad I did now!

My Civet arrived today, together with free testers of Dodo and Chameleon, the new Zoologists. I will try them over the next couple of days.

Iambuffy · 01/08/2019 22:00

It's pleasant.
I just dont get the notes on fragrantica
