Previous thread

Now that the Orange One has gone, it's almost time for a visit from the Oranje One! Yes, Queen Max will be attending next Monday's Garter ceremony. It'll be a triplicate fashion face-off between her, Letizia and Kate - who will emerge victorious?

Thanks for the new thread Queen!

Not sure about Kate's ensemble. I wonder if those shoes were her original choice and then she looked at the weather and realised her feet would be damp and freezing.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 12/06/2019 23:02

were not* her original choice

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 12/06/2019 23:03

I swear I typed that correctly!

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 12/06/2019 23:05

Kate looks great & the shoes are fab!
I think she has lots of hair & volumising powder & backcombing are involved to get that va va voom & height. (Same as my hair)
Also using Mane n Tail shampoo & conditioner gives me big swishy hair. Well if it's good enough for horses & Jennifer Anniston.....

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 12/06/2019 23:11

Mane n Tail Hoofmaker Hand & Body Lotion is excellent too.

ElspethFlashman · 12/06/2019 23:14

I don't like the dress.

Or rather, there are bits of it I like (the stripey woven effect is dressy without being too evening-y) but I hate the hips and waist.

It's just too clingy and tight and thin. I can see her pelvic bones sticking out in several shots and I really don't want to see that much of someone.

The girl is far FAR too thin. It's something that people don't want to talk about and everyone goes "Oh but she plays tennis, look at her toned arms". But then she puts on a dress like that which leaves her virtually naked except for a padded bra, and its like the orthorexic elephant in the room.

But hey....good hair, I guess.

UrsulaPandress · 12/06/2019 23:14

Just looked at the photos of Kate in the DM and I reckon you can see a bit of VPL.

SlipperOrchid · 12/06/2019 23:42

Elspeth I agree but never say it as people get very critical of other women criticising another woman's appearance and then others chime in with her body shape, her height and how she is run ragged from having to chase around after three children all day.

She IS unhealthily thin. She is not slim. She is not slender. She is underweight. I would go as far as to say it is obvious she under eats.

beanaseireann · 12/06/2019 23:46

Thank you for the new thread QueenoftheAndals

Gooseysgirl · 12/06/2019 23:49

Loving Max's green frock and bling in Dublin (it's a re-wear)! Sabina also looking fab in the bright blue. I'm not a fan of KM's look at all tonight. And I agree she is too thin.

Haggisfish · 13/06/2019 00:11

I also saw a hint of vpl!

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 13/06/2019 01:07

Hmm I may be wrong or I may be right. I may be even wishful thinking.
I think Baby No4 has set up camp as they say.

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 13/06/2019 01:45

I mean I'm wondering.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 13/06/2019 06:28

video of Kate at Action on Addiction dinner

She must be supremely confident to wear a clingy white dress knowing that everyone is looking at you, when making a speech.
I guess Kate is up there with a Hollywood actresses, wife’s of billionaires etc where part of their « job» is to look impeccable and in this day and age, that is looking perfectly slim.
I will however say even if she is underweight it is obviously isn’t affecting her health drastically as she has managed to get pregnant with 3 healthy children.
I don’t doubt she has a chef; a personal trainer and time during the day to exercise properly. But genetically she also has the blueprint to be naturally slender.

QueenOfTheAndals · 13/06/2019 06:41

Given her history, I'm not sure we'd have seen Kate shearing sheep in Cumbria if she was pregnant again @TracyBeakerSoYeah! She usually goes off the radar for at least a month.

She's also making an appearance on Blue Peter this evening!

Close up of Max’s jewellery

RhubarbIsEvil · 13/06/2019 06:52

Here’s my penny’s worth:

  1. I had thin hair when I was younger. I lost a lot of weight and my hair suddenly looked enormous when it was blow dried.

  2. I’ve been taking Norwegian fish oil for the past 6 months and my hair is fabulous, darling - my hairdresser commented on it last week - shiny, excellent condition and lots of new growth so it’s very thick. My nails are strong and shiny and OMG my eyelashes! Not a sales pitch but maybe Kate is taking a spoonful a day?

  3. I agree with PP who said that he weather dictated the heeled pumps rather than strappy heels.

  4. Everytine I do a Les Mills class I always think of Kate leaping in the air and crunching her would-be assassin’s head down into her knee. You have to be fit and light to do it properly!

4). I keep mentioning Viscountess Hinchingbrooke (Julie Montagu) who is absolutely teeny tiny in a Kate way but look at her Instagram - that girl eats and is strong!!

If I had a housekeeper, chef and personal trainer in my home gym then I would be 3 stone lighter, that’s for sure.

QueenOfTheAndals · 13/06/2019 07:17

Is Viscountess H the American lady?

Also, what's the brand of fish oil you take @RhubarbIsEvil? I've been on biotin for a while but not sure it's done anything. My hair grows quicker but I can't see any extra volume in it.

OP posts:
RhubarbIsEvil · 13/06/2019 07:30

Yes, she is. I am slightly obsessed with her as you can tell! The fish oil is by EQology and they also do a vegan version made with olive oil. It’s about £1.50 per day so not the cheapest. Here’s a photo of my thumb which is not buffed, varnished (nor manicured Blush).

IHeartArya · 13/06/2019 07:35

Thanks for recommendation Rhubarb - I’m not generally allowed fish oils & a fair few supplements as interferes with medications but I’ll have a look, maybe one of the few I am allowed Smile

Alwayscheerful · 13/06/2019 07:40

Checking in.

beanaseireann · 13/06/2019 08:09

I agree with CurlyWurlyTwirly
Even though Kate appears very thin she was healthy enough to have three lovely children.
I'd say she has a will of steel.
Unlike me Smile

Max looked fantastic.

desertgirl · 13/06/2019 08:12

I have really thick hair but it’s very fine - I could easily go from a Kate size ponytail to enormous hair if I used something volumising and a blow dry - even dry shampoo gives me ‘big hair’ but it doesn’t look that much without anything.

latedecember1963 · 13/06/2019 08:14

Thank you for the new thread, Queen.
Max looked beautiful in the green dress and jewels.
I liked Kate's sparkly shoes.
These are my sparkly shoes from Dorothy Perkins. Grin

Hairydilemma · 13/06/2019 08:23

LateDecember I love your shoes. I do love a sparkly shoe.

Far too much of my wardrobe in fact is for my imaginary life where I am a duchess who needs sparkly shoes, as opposed to someone who works from home and needs lots of jeans and jumpers Blush
