Previous thread

Now that the Orange One has gone, it's almost time for a visit from the Oranje One! Yes, Queen Max will be attending next Monday's Garter ceremony. It'll be a triplicate fashion face-off between her, Letizia and Kate - who will emerge victorious?

Kate's very slim but I don't think she looks unhealthy. After what the press put Fergie through in the 80s, any female member of the royal family must be terrified of putting on weight. She probably has a chef who can whip up delicious healthy meals - she won't be existing on cabbage soup!

Catherine is definitely very slim but I wouldn't say she is unhealthily thin AT ALL. Most red carpet A-listers and a lot of top athletes are the same shape. I do get fed up reading about how she's underweight and too thin. Poor Fergie, back in the day, got the same kind of flak for not being thin enough and she always looked fantastic, I thought.

RatherBeRiding · 13/06/2019 12:19

Oops cross-post! Grin. Great minds and all that....

BlingLoving · 13/06/2019 13:07

I think she's very thin, but she doesn't look unhealthy at all. She literally glows most of the time, is clearly extremely strong and very active.

the first photo of her in the white dress I thought she looked awful and agree with a pp that the second mid thigh band thing isn't great, but actually, when I watched the videos and saw other pictures I mostly just thought she looked gorgeous, extraordinarily confident and a little bit sexy.

Did anyone watch the video when she comes back from giving her speech? The man sitting next to her, jumps up as she approaches. The man opposite and the woman next to him half get up looking confused, while another man just stays sitting. Personally, the old fashioned thing of gentlemen rising when a woman gets up or down from the table is unnecessary to me but I thought it was quite sad that the couple (?) sitting opposite her didn't know what was going on. Not sure if they should stand or not. I'm guessing they saw the (older) man who did stand and thought it was a royalty thing.

I had a boyfriend years ago who always did the standing up thing. I found it very odd. He also once tried to give me money when I decided after we'd taken our seats in the cinema (that he'd paid for) that I did in fact what an ice cream or something. The relationship didn't last! Grin

AhoyDelBoy · 13/06/2019 13:12

She'll outlive all the puddings of her age waddling round, that's for sure.

DoC's no slender than a lot of athletes imo. She looks really well, wish I looked as good as her!

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 13/06/2019 13:31

What with all the jumping up and kneeling down, the head bobbing and the curtsying, any engagement with the royals is quite a workout!

I disagree she looks unhealthily skinny and I didn't see any bones sticking out in last nights dress.

She looks on the surface happy and healthy and throwing herself into her work with mental health amen children she is on blue peter tonight launching a project for a kid to design a statue for her garden when it is moved. Spoiler alert the khaki jacket is back

I love Max and Wax, he looks like a man who is proud of his amazing wife. She looks like someone who spreads joy and fun, I bet the people she meets for work are put at ease by how engaged she looks.

beanaseireann · 13/06/2019 14:30

I'm sorry it's drizzly and dull for Max and Wax in Dublin today.

SunshineCake · 13/06/2019 14:48

@TraceyBeaker I mentioned a few days ago I thought the D of C might be pregnant again but I think my posts don't post as most aren't replied too. Most disappointed when I posted a lovely photo.

itswinetime · 13/06/2019 15:00

There always seems to be speculation about the DoC being pregnant don't you have to be careful at farms when pregnant though? I'm sure at the adventure farm near me all the signs say pregnant ladies should handle the sheep just incase. Might just be them being overly cautious though. Personally I think they are done she seems different since Louis more involved in her projects ect

SunshineCake · 13/06/2019 15:09

It was only because of a slight bump. I remember guessing she was expecting before it was announced with George. All on the basis of her hair Grin. I was surprised no one said anything as it seemed very obvious to me.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 13/06/2019 15:10

We're probably all silently nodding in agreement with you @SunshineCake!Smile

You could be right I don't have anything more than a feeling she is done!

Whydoesitalwaysdothis · 13/06/2019 15:40

Meghan's wedding dress on display at Holyrood House in Edinburgh from tomorrow.

Disfordarkchocolate · 13/06/2019 16:14

If people want to play Schrödinger's uterus can it be on another thread, it must be one of the worst things about being famous (well that and the fat/thin shaming).

PinguDance · 13/06/2019 16:24

After saying I thought DoC looked overly prim on the last thread She brought out a pair of sparkly shoes to show me what’s what. I miss those jimmy choo stripper shoes she used to wear all the time - silver ones with a platform, I liked them and they also made her so tall she towered over people. These ones!

Those shoes are fabulous Pingu.
I can also see Max wearing those but during the day!

QueenOfTheAndals · 13/06/2019 16:38

I agree @Disfordarkchocolate, let's all climb out of Kate's uterus!

@SunshineCake I don't think anyone was deliberately ignoring you, it's just that the last thread moved really really fast.

Also re hair - my hair is not far off Kate’s and my hair really does go that big on mornings when I dry shampoo it . With styling I could probably get it to go ‘full kate’ - don’t know how long it would last mind but I guess it doesn’t have to

QueenOfTheAndals · 13/06/2019 16:42

It's been very wet the last few days, her big hair could've been a combination of a blow dry and the humidity. I think this is the closest we've seen to her natural hair. It was their Pacific tour and it was pretty humid then too.
