Unusual but lovely dress for October registry wedding

I'm looking for ideas of what to wear for my wedding in October. We are going to be doing registry office then pub/restaurant for the evening after so nothing crazy formal. Will be around 30 people present.

I'm not fussed about wearing white, am actually less inclined to as am very pale so can wash me out a bit! I have a lot of tattoos so needs to work with that. The problem is that people keep suggesting 50s style/Lindy Bop/rockabilly type dresses to me because of this and actually I just do not like that style at all!

I'm a size 8-10, early thirties, 5 foot 6, dark hair.

Any idea would be much appreciated!

@bobloblawlawblog yes it is! Can't wait for it to arrive so I can try it on Blush

bobloblawlawblog · 09/06/2019 10:10

Post a picture of what it looks like on when it arrives! Is lovely.

Yeah I've got metallic green Vampire's Wife in my head now and I think it may not leave. I shall muse on it for a month or so in the hope that I suddenly hate it and then don't need to spend so much (let's face it, that isn't going to happen though) I do really like the Ghost one which is a lot lot cheaper!

I def think am going to go for a black witchy boot with a heel whichever dress I go for.

No backpiece, but do like a low back on a dress, which Ghost one were you thinking?

I love the Vivienne Westwood dresses - I have two and always felt amazing in them. Its just finding the colour that feels right and special for you. The Vampire's wife ones are lovely too - I just wish they had more pictures of the dresses on someone, so you can see how they look.

Wonderful photo on The Vampire’s Wife Instagram of Courtney Love in one of their dresses.

How about a nice pencil dress from Zoe Vine? Or this one which I have and wore to a wedding recently.

Arrested Development fan needsometime?

I love the colour and shape on that but I def don't want maxi length due to extreme clumsiness.

WonderWoman that looks lovely on the model and I'm sure on you but I don't want to go down the fifties style route, just isn't me really!

Yes, big AD fan! Grin

If you don't want maxi, then I def think go for Vampire's Wife!

Maybe I should just sack off the dress idea entirely and go full Tobias...

Bobloblaw, Askmehow's suggestion is perfect - you can be your own 'something blue'. Grin

And frozen bananas for dessert.....

But that Vampires Wife dress is beautiful! Wow!

bobloblawlawblog · 12/06/2019 21:23

Well that is my menu mainly sorted!

There is another vampire contender colour wise, the beautiful metallic blue...

How much is that particular Vampire's Wife dress? Is it the Falconetti one?The way I see it is: £1,595.00 is a lot for a dress but probably less than the average woman spends on a wedding dress. And the big plus with the VW dress is that you'd get to wear it over and over again. Which you can't really do with a wedding dress. Unless you're Miss Havisham.
