Unusual but lovely dress for October registry wedding

I'm looking for ideas of what to wear for my wedding in October. We are going to be doing registry office then pub/restaurant for the evening after so nothing crazy formal. Will be around 30 people present.

I'm not fussed about wearing white, am actually less inclined to as am very pale so can wash me out a bit! I have a lot of tattoos so needs to work with that. The problem is that people keep suggesting 50s style/Lindy Bop/rockabilly type dresses to me because of this and actually I just do not like that style at all!

I'm a size 8-10, early thirties, 5 foot 6, dark hair.

Any idea would be much appreciated!

Another route I am toying with is a short lovely dress and doc martens as I am absolutely horrific at heels. So am unsure how I would manage the right shoes for the Reiss ones? I have tiny skinny feet so they don't stay in things without straps/laces/buckles and can't walk in very high ones!

Will have a look for footwear!

In the meantime - here’s a red dress. Do take a look at the white dress with black lace on the same wonderful site.

Are you completely in love with the Reiss dresses?

This has a lace low back would look beautiful with your ankle tattoos popping through.

Am not sure why but am not feeling the Vicky and Lucas dresses, thank you though!

I'm also a picky so and so and don't tend to like the fabric of the Chi Chi ones.

That Marques Almeida is fab though. Although am worried will not be too flattering as isn't on the model?

Not in love with the Reiss ones, just first investigations

Carry on looking through MA site. I can vouch for the utterly superb quality of their clothes. (Maybe wait a day/week/month for their sale to start?) I have no connection to them - honest. Just love the things I have from there.

Anyway Bargain!

bobloblawlawblog · 07/06/2019 13:06

Oooo I love that George but just as an everyday one!

(With the MA dress - take a look at other colours on different models.)

BHLDN
I think that one would be stunning as a wedding dress but the formal dresses generally are all really nice.

Was the Lee Matthews (at 12.12pm) no good?

(Never say I’m overinvested. Grin)

GeorgeTheBleeder · 07/06/2019 13:20

(Actually @ 12.02.)

bobloblawlawblog · 07/06/2019 13:21

Like it but have a very similar Topshop one this summer. Also there's something weird going on with the hemline on it?

Bearing in mind the climate in autumn, do think about a cape or similar - it could look absolutely fabulous.

GeorgeTheBleeder · 07/06/2019 13:39

Fair enuff!

Echobelly · 07/06/2019 13:41

& Other Stories is nice for subtly different dresses: www.stories.com/en_gbp/clothing/dresses/occasional-dresses.html

This one comes in a blue and pale pink and could be really nice for an informal wedding, your body shape.

I think the Vicky and Lucas ones may not be in the style you are going for but they do amazing dresses.

Not sure if this will be your thing but I love it either way m.dhgate.com/product/stylish-2018-black-gothic-wedding-dresses/415637080.html#pdsimitem-1-5|null:9001:r0239301842

That Stories one is lovely too, however my arm is blues/greens/turquoise/black so I avoid navy as it looks weird with it!

Have a look at the outnet - you can get some really lovely but quirky stuff.
