Also was that MV dress this season? I'd love one! but cannot see it on their website

miffy2 · 01/06/2019 22:01

Popping in to catch up. Soy congrats to your DH, delighted that DS is doing so well and hope you enjoyed the movie :D

I love San Sebastian, Santander and all the North of Spain in general. I would love to holiday there again someday (I spent all my college summers in that part of the country).

I also have the M&S Hush-alike sandals, in silver. They are still new and I am breaking them in, not half as comfy as my Birkenstocks and I fancy I wouldn't last all day in them but they are lovely and I will wear them a lot (for short periods of time!).

never that jacket and earrings are fabulous! As is Gin's dress, the perfect summer holiday attire.

I was going to order the Porto top in white but it has just gone OOS in 12 and I fear the 14 may give me a maternity look by hanging off my 32Gs, so I might hang on and see if a 12 comes back in. Also the Moritz are calling my name again. We shall see.

I think I may have found the perfect style Tshirt for myself. While I really like the Peacocks V neck as recommended by Ella, I also wanted a wide neck top. This one in M&S is proving perfect, so much so that having worn the white, I went and bought it in black and lilac too. I don't know how well it will wash and it is polyester/acrylic mix rather than cotton but I like the cap sleeves and the wide neck. I got size 12 which is perfect for all my pleated skirts as there is no excess material when I tuck in.

GinandGingerBeer · 01/06/2019 22:20

I was there @Ella 😊
More doom..... sorry! My darling late sister was there too, ticking her bucket list and shiny happy people holds a very special place in my ❤️
Me & DH walked back down the aisle to it.
I'm like a tragedy on paper ( I could go on.... ) but I am quite a positive person despite the heaps of shit
We all have our loved ones who we miss dearly but are lucky to have had as part of our lives
Wine
So cheers to that.
Smile

GinandGingerBeer · 01/06/2019 22:23

I think your hair looks fantastic @laska. Really suits you when it's bright Smile
MV dress is definitely this season, I only bought it a few days before we came on holiday. I'll have a look.....

Laska2Meryls · 01/06/2019 22:24

Yes congrats to soy DH!!.. But beware and watch it though ,Soy, I have had to have stern words with my recently retired DH about him trying to 're-organise' the house and housework! .. I've told him in no small way , that its fine, has been fine all along, Is fine , and that nothing has changed except that he is not working any more, and that I am not having him come in and change stuff just because.. .. He just needs to find a new focus.. !! Grin

Laska2Meryls · 01/06/2019 22:25

Gin I found It! Just one in L left, & I ordered it!! It looks really fab on you , so hoping it will on me also ..

justilou1 · 01/06/2019 22:36

Hi Gin! I’m so sorry about your tummy! Have you asked if there is any way for them to avoid the mesh? ( They don’t use it at all in Australia anymore.) You must be very disappointed! Poor thing!!!

EachandEveryone · 01/06/2019 22:37

You must go to IOW festival it always has such a good line up. How amazing to beable to sleep in your own bed after

twosoups1972 · 01/06/2019 23:06

I LOVED REM back in the day Smile

twosoups1972 · 01/06/2019 23:07

@never love the jacket and the earrings are so pretty.

I've decided I need some pretty floaty summer dresses, have been inspired by gin. I've bought a lot of jersey dresses in previous summers which are practical but not very pretty.

justilou1 · 01/06/2019 23:23

@Ella, @Laska & @Melen, totally ❤️ REM also. I caught Michael Stipe’s t-shirt at a concert when I was 16 only to have it snatched out of my paws by a giant, hairy guy. Devastated. Love him!!!

GinandGingerBeer · 02/06/2019 07:07

Glad you found it @Laska. I tried to link last night but the WiFi is so sporadic here, I couldn't get a connection.
( it not me who needs the op @justilou1 it's @each Smile)
She didn't die at the stone circle but it was the Wednesday night when they have like an opening ceremony with fireworks and the wicker man. On her way back down it was just so dusty, she was on oxygen and passed away in her tent in the disabled field. My cousin is a nurse and tried cpr but sadly to no avail. It was a very traumatic time but she absolutely loved Glastonbury and I'm so glad I was there. Of course it made the news as the media love to report a death at a festival and make out it was all drugs n alcohol........Sad
We actually paid a fortune for tickets that year as we were the only ones who didn't manage to get tickets and I decided a week before that we must go! We had the time off..... we bought them off a concierge company in Florida, a huge risk but thank god we did.

neveradullmoment99 · 02/06/2019 08:00

Awww gin. What a sad story about your sister. You must have been devastated. Such a lovely way to look at it now. Its so hard when you lose someone you love. I loved REM.
I love that dress too. Glad its sold out or i would have been tempted.
Cant wait to see it on you@laska.

whiskyremorse · 02/06/2019 09:37

Hearing all the REM love is timely, I went to a tribute band music festival last weekend a bit unsure as to whether it was going to be a bit rubbish but the standout band for me was Stipe, the REM tribute. Really amazing and made me remember how much I loved them! So watch out for them

justilou1 · 02/06/2019 09:43

Sorry @Gin... I was trying to hustle the kids out of the house and keep my calm on -and failing miserably!!!-
Had an amazing day despite poor DH staying home to enforce DS’s homework that’s been lying about. Grrrr! I was tempted to let him get in trouble at school but didn’t want to reward him with a fab day out.

whiskyremorse · 02/06/2019 09:52

@gin what a, sad story, at least she was out doing something amazing with her family when it happened x

twosoups1972 · 02/06/2019 10:28

So sorry @gin Flowers

justilou1 · 02/06/2019 15:20

I’m sorry to read about your auntie, @Gin! Must have been terrifying for you all! She passed surrounded by those she loved best, after having a wonderful time, etc.... COPD is just awful. I’m so impressed that she went to Glasto!

neveradullmoment99 · 02/06/2019 15:45

Gin sorry i thought it was your sister. I see it was your Aunt that died.
I got some news today too. Very sad. A close family member has been diagnosed with two types of cancer and has 2 months to live. She is only mid fifties. I just cant stop thinking about it. So awful. Don't want to post too many details incase anyone I know reads this thread.

neveradullmoment99 · 02/06/2019 15:46

I guess we should always live our days to the full...

FuzzyPuffling · 02/06/2019 15:49

never I am so sorry to hear about your family member. What a horrible shock for you all and so very sad. Yes, we should make the most of every day; you are so right there.

twosoups1972 · 02/06/2019 16:18

@never so sorry to hear such sad news. Mid fifties is so young. Life can be cruel sometimes Sad

A friend of mine lost her mum about 6 years ago aged 62, then her dad more recently at 69. Agree about living life to the full.

Laska2Meryls · 02/06/2019 16:26

We just had a birthday lunch with my baby boy (DS) who is 29 today!! .....oh I do feel old.....

Gin oh so sad ,... but at least she went at a great event and not in some sad place .. Flowers

I also feel a bit Blush gin that I saw your lovely dress and just swooped on one totally hawk/sheep-like about two seconds later! . I will admit to having had a little Wine at the time, but quite frankly, tipsy buying is such a bad idea.. Is a lovely dress though, and i dont regret it ( yet) but I really do not need any more holiday clothes ..BlushBlush.

Its strangely cool and dull here today after being so hot and sunny yesterday..

twosoups1972 · 02/06/2019 16:38

@laska happy birthday to your ds Cake It is also dh's birthday and we've been out for lunch too! Grin

I'm going to order some dresses to try from Stories, anyone know how they come up size wise? The sizing is a bit confusing, I think a 40 is a size 12....

dontcallmelen · 02/06/2019 17:34

Gin 💐
never I’m so very sorry to hear your news, life is indeed bloody cruel at times💐
Laska happy birthday to ds🎂
soups I ordered a dress from other stories, should be here tomorrow will let you know what sizing is like.
