Gorgeous skirt, @Huff! Even though my legs are longish for my bod, I think I’d have to pass as I’m (nearly) 5 foot 1. Trip hazard! I love floaty, flowy skirts and dresses, but I look like a wilting flower. (Especially in the humidity!!!) They are so practical for our climate, too! Alas, the boho look (which I adore) is not for me!
Sandals are fab @Never! Always pleased to cheat some verticality!!!
Hope everyone’s weekend is splendid... spent today watching my DS (13 in a couple of months) trundling around chasing a soccer ball. (His team is completely unskilled but very enthusiastic. For the last couple of months I have been hearing about how they “nearly” got a goal this time, and guess what? They scored their first goal today!!! It’s not unlike watching a herd of golden retriever puppies chasing a tennis ball, come to think of it! Very cute! Tomorrow we are driving to Noosa (a very famous beach on the Sunshine Coast - Don’t get too excited, the weather forecast inspires ark building.) to visit one of my childhood friends for lunch. He and I used to play in sandpits together and have known each other since we were five. My kids find that so bizarre. The bromance between him and my DH is something to be seen. Fortunately I adore his partner so it’s going to be a lovely day, weather and pre-teen mood swings will be ignored. (At least the weather gets us out of hiking, which I would have loved, but would have definitely set the daughters off....)

Luckylollies · 01/06/2019 13:20

@huff skirt looks fab on you, now tempted to add that to cart (must. resist.)

@never thanks for the review. I didn’t realise they were heavy too. they’re very pretty and I might not mind wear-and-tear but if they are heavy (uncomfortable?) I will prob pass.

grannycake · 01/06/2019 13:38

I don't find the woodstock sandals heavy and can wear them all day. haven't worn them enough to comment on durability.

Love the black and pink skirt but I'm also far too short for that style

I did find a pair of leather strappy sandals for just £10 in Asda thi morning so really pleased with that

Ellapaella · 01/06/2019 14:04

@Huffthepuff I love the skirt, looks great on you. Jealous muchly of Len and Huff for having sunny weather! It's warm but overcast here. DC were paddling in the sea on the beach earlier but we've just had a rain shower.
I'm off with a friend to walk our dogs and go for a sneaky drink shortly so hoping the rain will do one.
Thanks for the fitflop code @Ninkaninus - will have a browse later. Enjoy your day in Bournemouth - I went to university in Bournemouth and have very fond memories of the place.
I'm not hushing it today - I'm wearing my whistles cashmere mix hoodie and Gap girlfriend jeans - very boring but just right for the weather.

Piddling here. And cold. And we can hardly get anywhere in the car as the roads are jammed with horse drawn caravans making their way to Appleby. Fed up.

GinandGingerBeer · 01/06/2019 15:10

Hello, our last day in turkey today
Think we. At gave to buy an extra suitcase to take all our shopping back home in
Thank you for all the co washing advice @soy. One quick Q, should I do an initial clarifying wash to get any sulphates out before I embrace the CG method?
I'll attach a pic of the MV dress I think you'll like. Started writing a post yesterday and then internet cut out and I lost it but thank you for all your lovely compliments and whoever asked was it @Writersblock2 ? about my hush dress I can't remember the name but it definitely appears in the sale each year so keep an eye.
I have the Woodstock's and I don't find them comfortable as they make my Achilles ache. Doesn't stop me from wearing them though Smile

dontcallmelen · 01/06/2019 15:34

Oooh very pretty dress Gin really suits you, safe journey home 😍

SoyYo · 01/06/2019 15:49

Sitting in my garden sipping a sparkly water with lemon, it’s hot hot hot in East Anglia today and my garden feels like Eden (see pic)
I have to go pack for our trip to Spain soon but I so love the weather that I’m just sitting here enjoying my roses and the exquisite perfume from an orange blossom bush.

SoyYo · 01/06/2019 15:52

@Gin I ADORE that dress! You look stunning! On CG yes do a final wash with a sulphate (but silicone free check for any ingredients like dimethicone) shampoo to get rid of the silicone build up. Then you can continue with SLS free shampoos and silicone free conditioners (and co washing in between SLS free shampoos)
Enjoy your last day in Turkey and safe journey home!

SoyYo · 01/06/2019 15:53

@Huff the skirt is magnificent! Really looks great on you! Great buy! I had a look online and if there’s any stock in the sale I’ll definitely buy to try (though at 5 3” possibly too long for me). Total boho Yum!

SoyYo · 01/06/2019 15:54

@never show us the blue jacket! I bet it’s amazing! Would deffo have bought one too if there were any 10 left.

SoyYo · 01/06/2019 15:59

Anyway need to get my arse into gear soon as must be packed before we go out this eve to the movies (DS1 23 birthday today! We gave him a new proper vynil player with speakers so he stops using DH’s “precious” one plus books. He’s an avid reader. Into the Beat Generation writers like Ginsberg, so I gave him Richard Brautigan books who’s also from that generation but so much more quirky and upbeat than Kerouac, I hope he will enjoy them as much as I did when I was around his age).
Must Get Act Together!

SoyYo · 01/06/2019 16:01

Sorry DS2 birthday my “baby boy” who’s been struggling with MH as you know. Can’t believe it really...can’t be that long ago! 😢
Anyway he is doing better and guess what he’s chosen to see at the pictures?
A bloody Pikachu movie! Grin
God preserve my sanity later...

dontcallmelen · 01/06/2019 16:05

Beautiful pic Soy & birthday wishes to ds🎂 😂 at Pikachu movie though.

SoyYo · 01/06/2019 16:06

I wanted to see Aladdin! And DH John Wick 3 or whatever he’s called!
But DragonBallZ seems to win the day with twenty somethings 😉

neveradullmoment99 · 01/06/2019 16:07

Well its brightened up a bit but a bit windy although warmish. I was out shopping for food, which i hate! Posted hush parcel back and now off to make a coffee. @gin that is a beautiful dress. Love it.
Beautiful natural garden picture @soyo. So pretty.
I will post a piccy of the blue embroidered jacket when I get a moment!

SoyYo · 01/06/2019 16:14

Thanks @len. He is a truly beautiful boy I’d post a pic of him to just show you how handsome and totally RocknRoll he is not mindful of his privacy (doubt any MN posters of his generation but you never know and he was very well known with various bands in the Brighton circuit as he’s a musician)
Anyway I’m happy he’s happy and doing so much better these days.

LibbyJeffries · 01/06/2019 16:35

Made the mistake of trying on the Alvers dress in my JL today. Bum. I love it and can't stop thinking about it. £65 though.... (less 10%). And I really don't know when I'd wear it. And the arm holes were a bit big on my small (but pudgy) frame. And the sides skim the ground when they really should be above the ankle bone

And yet....

twosoups1972 · 01/06/2019 16:45

@melen I really like the M&S sandals, they are very versatile.

@huff the skirt is really gorgeous, looks lovely on you.

@Soy congrats to your dh and hope you had a lovely evening.

We’re enjoying the lovely weather today. Off for a family trip to the cinema later to see Aladdin preceded by a Thai meal. It’s dh’s birthday tmw but dd1 will be going back to sch in the morning so we want to do something together tonight.

Just popped to the shops earlier to get a few things for dh and spotted a few lovely things in JL including a lovely red dress from Whistles. But at £135 I’ll wait for the sales.

dontcallmelen · 01/06/2019 16:47

Aww Soy so glad he is finding his way through & he has lots of loving support & good input from services & he wants to recover his equilibrium which is one of the most important factors in recovery💐

dontcallmelen · 01/06/2019 16:49

Cheers soups yes I reckon they are keeper, very soft leather & really comfy footbed have a lovely evening.
Dgd here so am hiding for five minutes, as she is currently playing a very complicated game of being a post lady.

dontcallmelen · 01/06/2019 16:54

The Matalan wedges are going back, I think they are a little bit old lady says she who is old😂 I was seduced by the cheapness but I know I won’t wear them so instead of sticking them in the cupboard, my new sensible head is sending them back😇

Ellapaella · 01/06/2019 17:03

@SoyYo my cousin is in a band that have gained a large following in Europe and they started out in Brighton. He's 27 now, I wonder if they know each other?

OP posts:
twosoups1972 · 01/06/2019 17:13

@never what size did you get the Sandrine top in? I got a 12 but can’t decide if it’s too snug over the bust.

EachandEveryone · 01/06/2019 17:15

Im wondering whether to get a pair of cropped harems for glasto. With one of those lovely kimono tops?

Bad news yester. The surgon said i have a massive hernia due to the hysterectomy. I can bloody beleive it. Well, I can because i can see the sodding thing. More surgery in through the scar. I was only organising last years Summer gear yesterday thinking it was so big for my swelly belly and it sounds like im going to be the same this year. Work arent very impressed. I feel like its my fault.
