@soups it’s a lovely dress but I know what you mean, specially with boobs higher necks are tricky and the fact we keep decapitating ourselves on the (bad) selfies doesn’t help much either as it’s already a two dimensional view and partial at that on the wearer! So many other things can detract big boobs: nice hair/face, fab shoes/accessories. I think it shows off your slim hips very well and the colour is beautiful but ultimately if you don’t feel “you” in it then consider eBaying as it’s current season. I’d wear again on another occasion when you’re feeling great and if you have some low platform shoes/sandals I think it’s a lovely easy happy T shirt dress.

@nink glad you’re having a great day and the poncho looks so nice, I like its paleness and shimmer potential/the neckline.

@justi look Fw to seeing the trainers and we hear your pain re far right politicians. We all want Jacinta for our PM now! NZ lucky to have her.

Thank you for the kind comments on BA haul. My favourites are the gf chinos, lose and easy and don’t have any chinos so useful (and bargainous) for this summer and I’ll be £ in when I return the broderie top. Btw the quality of the broderie is much higher than other high street versions I’ve seen. This is proper old fashioned broderie and it is worth the money with the 10% off do @never it suits you a lot more than me and you should deffo keep.
I just look like a shapeless blob with it on unfortunately.

So just finished all work class and off to my weekly Pilates soon

NotAnActualSheep · 22/05/2019 16:54

Oh no, soups - it looks like such a nice dress and the colour suits you. You look great, but we can be our own worst critics. Can it be rescued with another jacket/ shoes/ jewellery do you think? I agree M&S does have some pretty things at the moment - there were some very nice linen sundresses that I was tempted by, but didn't have time to try on (and I don't need...)

nink - lovely poncho! I like the pompoms...I have a knitted one that has pompoms on the necktie thing, that I got when they were in fashion around a decade ago, and still wear...I love it...so soft, and as near as I can get to wearing a blanket in public. (it was from the first season of M&S Per Una before they got sh1t - which shows how old i am). And well done on the lottery win Grin Surely that means your Mulberry fund is now at -£31.70?! I like how you snuck in the wedding so neatly there! How exciting! (Do you have a dress/ outfit yet? There's a nice lacy number in hush if you're interested Grin).

soy - yes, that white dress really needs someone with olive skin and easily tanning to carry it off. It would look stunning with your dark curls i reckon. I think us "english roses" (ahem...) need something cream or a "soft" white for it to work - even in actual wedding dresses with a ton of makeup... I love your BA things - the wide trousers and jumper are such a good match, and the chinos are lovely too. Good that the only thing you want to return is the one from hush themselves - as BA returns are annoying, and not free..

I'll join you all in the booooooooo to Farage (or Farridge as we call him) and Brexit generally. And I'll do another boooooooo on laska's behalf, as she can't but wants to . And yy - everyone needs to vote even though it is difficult at the moment - or those like him will claim it as a huge victory. I think the thing with the list system is that it is more proportional than first past the post, so it's not so critical to tactically vote...every vote for a remain party will send some kind of message (small and un-listened to though it may be Sad) even if your candidate isn't actually elected.

laska -fab kimono - I agree it will look lovely over the navy Janelle.

OK, so my hush things came. The embroidered sleeve dress is beautiful - but i think it is just a bit much. It's just a t-shirt dress if you ignore the lovely sleeves, and the fabric is quite thin. As expected, the washing instructions on the website, which say you can do a gentle machine wash are wrong...the actual dress say it is cool hand wash only, and I think you would have to to avoid wrecking the embroidery & sequins, which are on a sheer mesh panel. Its really pretty and sparkly, but I don't think it would get the wear to be honest - and the sequins would probably rub on my arms. So it's gone back. Similarly, the crochet tee is nice (lovely neckline), but expensive for a tee, and v thin cotton (could see my nude bra quite clearly, so nothing else would stand a chance!). So that wasn't too successful Sad. I also sent back the sunset sweat (not sure I said I'd ordered that at the weekend?) - I kind of had a bit of FOMO Grin. It is really lovely and soft, and a good shape, but the colour doesn't really do anything for me tbh. But the main reason is the flipping "distressing" of the ribbing round the neck, cuffs and bottom - why do they do that?! It looks as if someone took a perfectly good sweatshirt and snipped it randomly with some nail scissors - the colour alone gives it that lovely faded "oh, this old thing" vibe...it doesn't need to look like its been in an accident with some agricultural machinery...

But i did order the handbag, and I've decided I'll keep the khaki wren too Blush so i definitely don't have a Halo of any description...

Ellapaella · 22/05/2019 16:54

@SoyYo I love your bargains! Chinos are bloody fabulous- really really like those.
@twosoups1972 I think you are being too harsh on yourself - you look lovely and I think the colour is great on you.

Work class Confused I meant calls! Autocorrect troubles...
Plus @soups I meant wear again on another day before deciding if it’s not really “you”.

Ellapaella · 22/05/2019 16:56

@not i really must dash to Pilates but quick one to say I love love the black dress on you (sorry!!) you did make me laugh with your descriptions and the crochet t shirt is meh so return.

Thank you Ella

@Nink yes a wedding! Can you have two weddings one on a beach wearing the lace dress so I can live through you vicariously Grin Seriously excited for you!
Double Congrats today!! 🥂

miffy2 · 22/05/2019 17:13

soups lovely colour and you have a fab figure- try the dress with a fitted jacket/cardigan maybe? That can take the focus off the boob area (I am booby and usually avoid high necks but have some dresses that I love so I am always looking for ways to wear them)

Soy, great bargains! I love the chinos, my favourite style at the moment (I own a few from Gap and am wearing my black pair right now)

Nink happy birthday!!!! Enjoy the day.

Ladies, is the general consensus a yes to the Moritz jeans? They are back in stock and I forgot to throw a pair into my order this AM. I'm dithering. I got a lovely pair of wide leg crop khaki chinos from Gap that I love so I was considering the denims. Would I need to size up? My middle is where I carry my weight right now.

GinandGingerBeer · 22/05/2019 17:25

Ooh, lots to catch up on....
@Laska love your Santana outfit. Looks great with that too, a most flattering combo

@ella. Your kitchen is lovely, so calming and cosy.
@soups I love the t shirt dress, could you try some different underwear with it? I have the Jamie from last year and need my mega pants on with it, sometimes a bit of structure underneath makes all the difference.
@Ninkaninus Happy Birthday! Sorry you're having trouble with your eyes..... Sending you good wishes Thanks
@soy love everything! Those jeans are a superb fit! You are so slim! I like the broderie top too.

I know how what you mean re care instructions @ @not but but.... oh it's lovely. Really suits you....

Sorry if I've missed anyone. I couldn't get on MN last night? It wouldn't load for some reason

Someone asked about my cruise & Croatia. One of the stops is Hvar ( I've been before to a wedding and it's beautiful 😍) can't recall the name of the other place.... maybe once the HRT kicks in I'll get my brain back Grin

twosoups1972 · 22/05/2019 17:34

That was me @gin If you can manage a visit to Dubrovnik I would really recommend it.

Thank you for all your kind comments re Hush Susannah. I wore it today with a denim jacket which made it a bit better. But I was hot! And both my 16 year old and 12 year old dds have declared it as WTF Mum? Grin Not sure what I was thinking of spending £59 on essentially a t-shirt dress. And the tie thing keeps coming undone. Will try and Ebay.

@sheep funnily enough I saw the embroidered dress in JL during my lunch hour today, thought it was very nice. But I do see what you mean, it's not one thing or the other. The blue Santana is gorgeous!

@nink wedding is so exciting! We will, of course, be with you every step of the way Smile Hope the Mulberry fund continues to increase. I saw a lovely Mulberry in JL today- think it's called Hampstead.

grannycake · 22/05/2019 17:44

The pink dress from summer collection. Again it's a bit tent like but I love the colour and I reckon it'll be a sort of summer Ivy - same throw on and I'm dressed vibe. And pockets. Am a sucker for pockets.

grannycake · 22/05/2019 17:45

Forgot the pic doh!

That's really nice granny and looks like it fits you perfectly.

neveradullmoment99 · 22/05/2019 17:53

Me too @miffy around the old tum! I tried the 12 and they were perfect and comfy.

neveradullmoment99 · 22/05/2019 17:56

Love the dress @granny. Much nicer in real life.
@soyo, purchases look great. Shame about the broderie top. I kept mine but it is a bit 'square' cut. @not I adore the embroidered dress. Do you think it could be a daily wear dress or is it too dressy? I just wouldn't have the occasion for dressy.

neveradullmoment99 · 22/05/2019 18:07

Nink Happy birthday. Sorry - haven't really read back, just skimmed. I may have missed out a few posts. You have all been so chatty today. Loving looking at everyones purchases. Well the black santana came and the daisy dress. The daisy dress is pretty big so its going back. Its a beautiful print but I think it will be in the sale so not too bothered about it. Its kind of wintry next to all the summer stuff. It is lined and quite well made but although its a relaxed fit, I think it looks just a big big on me.

neveradullmoment99 · 22/05/2019 18:13

@not, just read your feeback on the dress. Sounds totally impractical. Think you did the right thing sending it back.

Laska2Meryls · 22/05/2019 18:37

Here is the Kimono, wearing with my Moritz crops.
No other photos from stuff today, all going bac. , the new navy crop joggers are dreadful.. really cheap looking and nasty fabric.. The yellow carilo dress gaped at the bust. even on the 16.. which I tried because the style looked skimpy, but the bodice wasn't well cut anyway esp around the top.. v disappointing, but it was a lovely colour though.. and if you are small of nork would look good..what do you think of the Kimono? I won't take it back, but I'm not sure now if it's me , I may give it as a present

Huffthepuff · 22/05/2019 18:39

Great haul Soy and Not!
Granny that pink dress is lovely on you!

Tried on the Miriam in an 8 today. Better on the shoulders and boobs but too short on me and also got the line across my chest that Len mentioned. So annoying! So I'll keep the 10.
Also ordered the Bryce culottes Which I previously ordered in a 12 and there was too much fabric. These are much better.
My question is to those who have the Bryce Cullottes, have they been useful? Do you recommend? Not sure if they are flattering on me at all but I love the fabric

wearenotacodfish · 22/05/2019 18:46

Oh no Laska I ordered the cropped joggers last night. I should have fussed the quality wouldn't be up to much after I had to send the stripe ones back. Hopefully I have more luck with my Boden order.

neveradullmoment99 · 22/05/2019 18:48

The kimono is lovelyLaska Looks nice with the moritz.
Love the dress on you Huff and actually I think the culottes are very flattering on you so keep!

Ellapaella · 22/05/2019 19:09

@grannycake I love it! You look great. Dress is lovely and perfect summer colour.

OP posts:
Ellapaella · 22/05/2019 19:12

@Laska2Meryls love the kimono! Iove how you've styled it with the Moritz trousers
@Huffthepuff agree you should keep the culottes as they really suit you.

OP posts:
grannycake · 22/05/2019 19:13

Thanks for lovely feedback. The pink is the same dress as the Miriam really and I now have both. It looks lovely on you huff by the way. Still hoping the material will be less starchy once washed and will hang slightly better

I thought the cropped joggers were OK. I want them for hanging around the house in the evening or in the motorhome when we're away and they'll be fine for that. I like the cropped legs as being a shortie joggers are difficult

Nothing else needed now and I'm off to Provence at the beginning of July so hopefully all summer stuff will be worn then. I have another 2 weeks or so at the beginning of August as well but will be home alone for that as DH will be back at work

Ellapaella · 22/05/2019 19:20

Ooh sorry not I missed your pics - loving the embroidered dress and the Santana skirt looks great with that tee.
