Really HONEST opinions on this dress please (pic)

I never wear dresses, I feel I’m too short 5’2 and at a size 16 I look like a ship in full sail.

DD has convinced me that this looks nice and will be lovely for summer evenings and holidays.

It feel very comfortable but i feel like a lumpen blob. I know I need to lose weight but I also need to look nice while I’m at least trying.

Completely honest opinions please as I’ve kept the ticket on it so far just in case it needs to go back.

I like the last Next dress on you lass.

You look lovely (though I hate your user name - you are not Dowdy in the slightest) but I think a pleated skirt with a v neck cami would be a better “take” on this look for you.

OP - I’m 6ft and a 10 and I promise you it comes with it’s own set of wardrobe problems!!!!

The Next dress looks much better , have you tried the sleeveless ones they do , there is no reason that I can see why you can’t go sleeveless . Might be worth looking at QVC as well , they’ve got a dress on TSV today and have quite a few that might suit the brief .

It's not my favourite print, but it's not awful and you don't look terrible in it in any way, shape or form. Plus if your DH likes it you might end up feeling good in it around him. Put some nice underwear on, some perfume and a smile and you're good to go.

But only of you can convince yourself that you look good.

Last year the pockets were at the front on the v neck so that's a shame.

I would presume you are very old. The dress isn't flattering at all, quite old fashioned shape

Have you ever tried Phase Eight dresses? They have some really flattering wrap dresses and also shirt dresses with tie waists that might be nice and holiday-ish?

That next dress is fantastic on you. It makes you look a lot slimmer than the others.

I think with dresses it's hard to find the right fit for your individual body but once you do (like that Next one is for you) you will learn to spot them easily.

I think it looks awful - sorry but I think it doesn't suit you. The prints fine you don't look big just frumpy. Try going for a v neck and brighter colours

The dress with the brown fern fronds looks so much better, much, much more flattering and chic. It is a little bit dark for summer but how it works for you will depend on your colouring. Plus I intend to spend half this summer in a black linen mix jumpsuit so I rule dark is fine . And the other patterns you describe do sound a bit aging.

That dress from Next looks great!

Oh I like the next fern print much better a great bangle or dangly earrings. Super!

The shape of that next dress is so much better on you. But the colour isn’t very summery.
