Evening all Grin

Apologies for the cheesy thread title.

Come and join the MN Perfumistas for gorgeously-scented chat (or Germolene and burnt frankfurters...)

SotD Andiroba then SotE Hummingbird. Love Hummingbird so much.

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 09/04/2019 22:17

No problems Maud.
And I thought I was the only one who tried cooking & MN together Grin

teta · 09/04/2019 22:46

Lots didn’t you send me a sample of the Avignon for the advent calender? It’s a very well made perfume and a bit too sophisticated for me. I’m more the earthy naturals & green florals.
Mother Miller Harris citrus’s are wonderful. Fleur du matin is one of my all time favourites. The more recent Miller Harris perfumes seem to be taking a very different turn.
Maud, your Bloom visit sounds fun.
Sotd is Patchouli Clouds🌦.

KaliforniaDreamz · 10/04/2019 11:03

Checking in!
SOTD is going to be MH Powdered Veil

KaliforniaDreamz · 10/04/2019 11:03

Caught up with Fleabag last night - have u all seen?

MaudBaileysGreenTurban · 10/04/2019 11:19

Yes, watched it last night

Although have gone off Andrew Scott a bit since someone on Twitter pointed out that he looks like both Ant and Dec at the same time GrinGrinGrin

SOTD is LADDM. I love it so much!

teta · 10/04/2019 14:26

Sotd is Patchouli Clouds.
Am I the only one who hasn’t watched Fleabag?
I’m trying to avoid spoilers but I know a priest is involved😀.

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 10/04/2019 14:43

No I haven't watched it but I think I will (when I get round to it.)

MotherOfDragonite · 10/04/2019 16:14

I haven't watched Fleabag either, teta! It does sound good though....

I'll try to sniff some Fleur du Matin if I come across it. I only really know Miller Harris from the past year or so, so I don't know any of the older scents. I like most of their stuff, though, even when it isn't quite 'me'. Pamplemousse is very wearable, though!

MrsMoggs · 10/04/2019 19:38

2nd series was particularly fabulous. Hairdresser scene made me howl.

When you've all caught up we can discuss the scent each character would wear...let's start with Olivia Colman's toxic step mother Grin Grin.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 10/04/2019 21:38

SOTD MMM Untitled. Lovely sunny day here, but actually really cold.

Feel free to ex-communicate me, but I didn’t like Fleabag. I just couldn’t stand the talking to the camera like it was a person bits. I watched most of S1, but didn’t bother with this one. DP loved it though.

1frenchfoodie · 10/04/2019 22:30

Saw that on twitter Maud , uncanny and cannot be unseen Smile SOTD Bois d’ascèse. I am in love with another perfume though - the outrageously (for me) expensive Silphium by Stora Skuggan. It is green, spicy and with insence but fresh, not churchy. Just wish it wasn’t €120 for 30ml.

teta · 10/04/2019 23:37

Ooh frenchfoodie that perfume sounds right up my street. The bottles are amazing and other-worldly. I’m a sucker for any perfume with Myrrh and Frankincense in.

Lotsofpots · 11/04/2019 06:28

I've binged Fleabag in the last two days. Currently two episodes into season 2.

teta yes I did send you some Rouge Avignon at Christmas! I find it weirdly sultry.

SOTD is LE no15. I'm optimistically thinking I won't get many more chances to wear this until the autumn as it's a wintry scent for me.

MotherOfDragonite · 11/04/2019 09:55

Gosh, the Stora Skuggan bottles are beautiful! I am really tempted to do a run in to Liberty to sniff all the things that are on my "to sniff" list.

Does anyone know if the MM Replica memory box is in stock anywhere? Or is it just all gone? I'd love to try some.

KaliforniaDreamz · 11/04/2019 10:23

yes you all need to watch so we can discuss.

Although have gone off Andrew Scott a bit since someone on Twitter pointed out that he looks like both Ant and Dec at the same time this nade me laugh

the actor was in an ep of Sherlock as well playing a real, erm, nutcase.

SOTD the very useless non staying Coeur de Fleur. but i love it so.

Have a terrible hangover today after a very impromptu kitchen session with my friend after a huge dog walk with 6 kids. we deserved it.

teta · 11/04/2019 10:29

Mother I have one I’m about to eBay. It’s pretty perfect but all the sprays have been tested once. I try to recoup some of my expenditure in order to fund some more 😊. I think my next purchase will be the Stora skuggan sample set.
Sotd is Eau d iparie in honour of Myrrh and incense. It’s chilly and frosty here. Lambing Dd overslept due to exhaustion so I was up early to wake her up and cook breakfast.

KaliforniaDreamz · 11/04/2019 10:38

teta saw some leaping lambs over the weekend, such a glorious sight, but such hard work for the farmers.

CountFosco · 11/04/2019 13:14

let's start with Olivia Colman's toxic step mother

The obvious joke is Poison but I actually suspect she'd wear something fron 4160T and have adopted Sarah Mc as an 'interesting' friend 'this is my friend Sarah, she has synesthesia and hears perfumes as chords. I'm wearing one of her darling perfumes now, isn't it fabulous'.

Iambuffy · 11/04/2019 13:42

Dh is making noises about me buying some AT perfume!!
Should I?
It feels so extravagant!

MaudBaileysGreenTurban · 11/04/2019 13:59

count GrinGrin god you are so right!

buffy go for it!

Iambuffy · 11/04/2019 14:01

But which one!!??
Argh....

EnormousDormouse · 11/04/2019 14:10

Perfumistas, I am a long time but occasional lurker on these threads - just wondered if there has been any discussion about the Paris Osmothèque perfume archive? It's just that I was lucky enough to attend a lecture they gave a few weeks ago where I got to sniff 30 perfumes 'through the ages'. Can give more details about it if anyone's interested and it hasn't been discussed before.... as I said I just drop in so it might have been done to death already!

Iambuffy · 11/04/2019 14:10

Wow! That sounds amazing....
