Previous thread

Let's keep criticism to the clothes rather than the women please...

Minimammoth
I think the peach colour on Teresa May is so much nicer than the blues she wears which are so cold with her grey hair.

Notmyrealname855 · 26/02/2019 07:55

Christ that’s an ugly dress! Never put a small person in big prints! On the runway it looks almost a different shade (and a nicer shade). Even if they had it adapted later, the print is too big for her.

That would be very cool, if MM went “you think I’m spending too much on my clothes? Watch this!”, and had all her maternity dresses re-done by a seamstress for post-preg years. I’m guessing she’ll do that otherwise this was one expensive pregnancy!

Like the look of the king but rather dodgy if a high profile woman can just go missing (?) and it not be followed up

LifeCasting · 26/02/2019 07:56

Oh goodness! I didn’t realise it was HIS wife! Sad

OutwiththeOutCrowd · 26/02/2019 08:01

Mrs May is really deserving of her own thread on her fashion choices. She said on Desert Island Discs that she wanted her luxury item to be a subscription to Vogue, so she’s definitely interested.

I think that when she wants to show that she’s got balls, she wears them round her neck.

She’s also very fond of one particular coat. To me, the coat is quite sci-fi ‘Mad Max’ with its leather and zip. It seems the perfect choice for the leader of a dystopian post-Brexit society in which law and order have broken down….

Anyway, back to the royals!

BigGreenOlives I thought it looked like she had some blue leggings on underneath!

About the Moroccan princess, not being seen in public life doesn't necessarily mean she's missing. Perhaps she's unwell. Perhaps she hates the spotlight and had enough of living in scrutiny. Never explain as people say....

user1457017537 · 26/02/2019 08:22

Re the Moroccan Princess I think she was quite high profile until two years ago and hasn’t been seen since. No news on her whereabouts. I find this strange and unsettling that no one is questioning her disappearance.

certainlymerry · 26/02/2019 08:23

Can anyone imagine a prominent person in the RF just disappearing without any commentary ? It\s beyond weird. I'm sure M and H have spent some time in deep conversation about it.

AFifthOfKoolAid · 26/02/2019 08:28

Again, perhaps she has chosen to be this way. Perhaps they have just divorced and she's living a quiet, private life. Perhaps it's nothing more dramatic than that.

Notmyrealname855 · 26/02/2019 08:37

Maybe she is out and about but the divorce settlement says she can’t be in any press? So she’s effectively disappeared from public life?

Would love a thread on T May!! Never liked her politics that much but by god at least she bothers to turn up to work any more! Who could be arsed when all that happens is you have this group or that berate you? IMO she’s a scapegoat to a lot of mediocre and sad old men! Anyway... her dress sense is pretty amazing, and she takes risks quite a few times (often on jewellery). Can we include her in the thread?

AFifthOfKoolAid · 26/02/2019 08:40

Ha Theresa May needs a thread all of her own. I love her chain chain.

I really like TM's twofer jacket posted by Outwith ,there's more about May's jackets from Herno in this DM article
She's got one in pale silvery blue as well .

OutwiththeOutCrowd · 26/02/2019 09:04

Thanks for posting that peridito. Interesting to get a better look at the twofer.

I rather like seeing her in something individual-looking amongst a sea of conformist men in near-identical business suits.

And I think she takes more risks in her fashion choices than the royal women.

LovingLola · 26/02/2019 09:06

The Duchess of Kent quietly disappeared from royal life a number of years ago. She would have been quite prominent a couple of decades back ..

ElspethFlashman · 26/02/2019 09:09

She turned to teaching. She's called Mrs Kent. Or was, perhaps she's retired by now.

I believe she always had anxiety/depression and so the Queen was very understanding about her not doing anything more in the public eye.

Notmyrealname855 · 26/02/2019 09:15

Love the chain necklace! Lest we also forget the Westwood tartan suit, and the leopard print shoes. Going to snoop on Herno!

queenofarles · 26/02/2019 09:32

Lalla Salma is reportedly seprartated —divorced—and still living in Morocco, so she is living a quiet out of the limelight life, according to local news publication in Morocco and Spain she is still living in her royal residence in Rabat with her children, she was seen in public on holiday last year with both her children in Italy .

I think it’s a very dignified move, sometimes marriages fall apart and it’s better for both parents to live seperatly . it seems they both reached an understanding, she is still treated as a princess , but without the limelight and I bet she is grateful for that.

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 26/02/2019 10:12

Blimey, that Dior was almost a hundred grand, according to the Mail.

QueenOfTheAndals · 26/02/2019 10:14

The key words there are "according to the Mail". Maybe £20-30k but £100k? I doubt it!

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 26/02/2019 10:20

I wouldn't be surprised.

It's Dior, it's couture.

beanaseireann · 26/02/2019 10:34

Mrs May, like me needs a lipstick to brighten up her face .
I look dead without it.

ajandjjmum · 26/02/2019 10:42

The Duchess of Kent had a breakdown following a miscarriage in her 40's, iirc. She tutored pianists as Mrs Kent. She always seemed a kind, gentle woman - hope she's happy.

RomaineCalm · 26/02/2019 11:05

Just looked at the summary by the DM of Meghan's 'tour wardrobe'.

It strikes me that nothing quite works properly. She has gorgeous hair, make up and shoes but every outfit has something that isn't right.

The Dior kaftan was awful - it just swamped her and the colour was unforgiving. The skinny jeans/casual look really suits her but the breton top and the jumper/blazer did nothing for her. The black dress with the white blazer didn't look quite right either - I think it was the neckline of the dress. And the print on the blue CH was too big for someone so petite.

I love her in the darker, well cut clothes that have something a bit different about the neck/hem/zip etc. I can see her wearing more Victoria Beckham once she has had the baby - I think that style suits her.

Saying that I don't envy her the lifestyle one bit. At that stage of pregnancy I'm pretty sure my holiday wardrobe was a stretchy skirt, a couple of vests and a pair of flip flops!

hanahsaunt · 26/02/2019 11:21

The BBC tour photos are gorgeous - www.bbc.co.uk/news/in-pictures-47366261 - everything looks good and she spoke in French to the goal keeper. What's not to like?

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 26/02/2019 11:36

I liked the pleated dress and the blazer best of all outfits.

queenofarles · 26/02/2019 11:48

Dior prices for couture are really high, nothing is below £60k and that is for a simple dress with no embroidery work, so I guess £100k is about right.
