I may be wrong, but I reckon when talking money Dior would have suggested circa 15k. The publicity would keep price down. This just wouldn't be talked about openly.

justasking111 · 26/02/2019 12:33

100k for the Dior, she was diddled Grin

ElspethFlashman · 26/02/2019 12:37

I don't care how fancy a couture house they are, at that price they can Fuckity Bye Now.

And after all that money it still fit badly!

I don't understand how the Valentino cost £600 though. Did they mean to write £6000? No way that only cost 600.

QueenOfTheAndals · 26/02/2019 12:58

The photo of him lifting her ponytail is so lovely. Regardless of what she wore, I think she showed herself to be committed to her role and her favourite causes over the course of this trip.

You've got to respect the Duchess Of Kent

She asked to be allowed to bring underprivileged children from charities she supported into The Royal Box

The AELTC went very Hmm "you want to bring RUFFIANS into The Royal Box"

And she said "but it's the Royal Box and I am a Royal and I want some deserving people to have an experience of privilege"

They said no

SHE HAS NEVER ATTENDED WIMBLEDON SINCE

BlueJeansNiceTop · 26/02/2019 13:50

I wonder where they went for their last (private) evening and day (today) in Morocco. I don’t blame them for tagging on a tiny break afterwards. I’m imagining some wonderfully luxuriant Moroccan spa! 🌺🌺

ajandjjmum · 26/02/2019 14:08

Never heard that story before Barton. Smile

Maybe she'd have been more successful asking for normal seats - which most of us would love!

Didn't she used to present the trophy? Wondered why that stopped.

BartonHollow · 26/02/2019 14:11

Early 90s it must have been it sticks in my head because my Mum was up in arms about it

HOW DARE THEY? GOOD FOR HER etc

I'll see if I can find a news source link for it

BartonHollow · 26/02/2019 14:13

An ancient link indeed !

The old style BBC News page!

The said a bereaved child would take a place that could be given to someone "worthy" of it Shock

The absolute fuckery of it!

No wonder she flounced

ajandjjmum · 26/02/2019 14:26

That is so interesting Barton. She was SO attractive. I thought the one photograph showed Diana in the Royal Box too, but looking at the date (1999), it can't be. Thanks for rooting it out!

QueenOfTheAndals · 26/02/2019 14:29

The child in question was the son of Philip Lawrence, the school headmaster who was stabbed to death outside the gates of his school.

Jesus Christ was it Queen?!!!

😱

I never knew that!

That's even worse somehow

QueenOfTheAndals · 26/02/2019 14:39

I have a lot of time for the Duchess of Kent, she's spoken openly about how the stillbirth she later had affected her mental health. She had to have a termination at one point too, as she contracted German measles in pregnancy.

When she was teaching she just went as "Mrs Kent" and the kids she taught were most surprised to discover she was a duchess!

Well that paints the aeltc in a most unpleasant light!

One the subject of clothes cost I'm not getting adverts for various things Meghan has worn, I much prefer the Carolina Herrera in the blue than this green.

And for British designers I'd like to suggest the occasional Paul Smith for dates at (several feasible options hee i think,
Although obviously not for maternity: www.paulsmith.com/eu/womens/dresses) and Ralph and Russo for eveningwear. I also agree that more Vivienne Westwood is always a good thing Grin

I prefer the green!

Horses/Courses !

Notmyrealname855 · 26/02/2019 15:38

Mrs Kent sounds amazing! Awful that the tennis lot treated a grieving child that way :(

FATEdestiny · 26/02/2019 15:43

On this day, the first official photographic sitting with The Queen was granted to the society photographer Dorothy Wilding. It took place on 26 February 1952.
The photographs taken during this sitting were the basis of The Queen's image on postage stamps from 1953 until 1971.

Wax & Max are on a skiing holiday. Daughters 1 and 2 are all Oranje but the middle daughter is Max Jr. And what a great hats they stand to inherit!

Daughters 1 and 3 I meant.

I love that photo of HM The Queen.

ajandjjmum · 26/02/2019 16:59

It is beautiful. I wonder if there was the uproar over bared shoulders that Kate and Meghan would no doubt face today!

itswinetime · 26/02/2019 17:11

I wonder if there was the uproar over bared shoulders that Kate and Meghan would no doubt face today!

Don't forget the cost of the dress I'm sure it wasn't cheap!

The queen looks lovely. I love looking back at old Photos of her she had some fabulous gowns!
So is the 5th the next diary date anyone now of any visits before that?

itswinetime · 26/02/2019 17:11

*know

Disfordarkchocolate · 26/02/2019 18:34

The Queen had some fabulous off the shoulder gowns and she had a much more curvy figure then Catherine or Meghan. If she reads any of this crap about pale nail polish and demure evening dresses I think she will have an inward chuckle and remember the gowns she and Margaret wore.
