The side seams on the kaftan are puckering, I really wouldn't expect that from a Dior dress.

It doesn't seem made well.

ScrambledSmegs · 24/02/2019 19:12

That second photo on the madaboutmeghan blog - I swear I can see a limb or something next to her navel. Ouch!

Hairydilemma · 24/02/2019 19:12

Hope I just came on to play Afifth’a game too, but managed to delete my post instead of posting...

Anyway, that middle dress was one I’d picked!

Also this www.seraphine.com/en-gb/blush-silk-lace-maternity-gown.html?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIwKnq54jV4AIV0xXTCh21Gg8JEA0YASABEgJFnPD_BwE

Or this if one-shoulder was acceptable www.isabellaoliver.com/uk/shop/maternity-clothes/maternity-dresses/belmont-maternity-maxi-caviar-black.htm

AFifthOfKoolAid · 24/02/2019 19:12

I think those first two would have had criticism for being too revealing for Morocco. Teal one is nice

justasking111 · 24/02/2019 19:13

Not crazy about the neckline and crossover on the dior dress much prefer her in red than that washed out colour. Her make up is always spot on.

ScrambledSmegs · 24/02/2019 19:13

Anyway, I don't particularly like the dress on her as neither the colour nor neckline is flattering but as usual her hair and makeup is spot on. It probably looks a lot better in person though, I'm sure most of this stuff is rendered less attractive by modern photography and high def.

justasking111 · 24/02/2019 19:14

Have to say for years wasnt keen on Kates clothes, she has upped her game a lot recently. Perhaps it takes time to find your royal style.

BartonHollow · 24/02/2019 19:21

I thought that smegs!

PinguDance · 24/02/2019 19:21

I love this Dior look - it's matronly in the best possible way, I know that doesn't sound like a compliment but I mean the kind of swanning in like "yes I'm pregnant, yes I am wearing a crystal encrusted wizard sleeve kaftan and so what... I dgaf I am very important and fabulous".

Which is also what a lot of people dislike about her but I'm here for it.

Ivgotasecretcanyoukeepit · 24/02/2019 19:25

Love the Dior but it is hugely disappointing that yet again she is not show casing british designers.

BartonHollow · 24/02/2019 19:28

Exactly @PinguDance

It's very What Would Princess Margaret Do? Grin

AFifthOfKoolAid · 24/02/2019 19:31

Same, Pingu!

Genuine question: at these events women are expected to be immaculately turned out and in their Sunday best. If she had turned up in a lovely Isabella Olivier or Seraphine dress, would the hosts perhaps be offended? What is the British equivalent of Dior? My favourite Meghan dress was her evening wedding gown, so maybe something by Stella would fit the bill? Would you count Claire Waight Keller, who yes designs for a French brand but it British born and trained?

Aberforthsgoat · 24/02/2019 19:31

I can’t decide if I like the Dior I think it might have been better in a different colour
She looks so radiant in jewel tones

BartonHollow · 24/02/2019 19:32

That should be the motto for this collective actually

When it comes to personal/work stuff

What would Princess Anne do ?

When it comes to being glamorous and looking important

What would Princess Margaret do?

😂Grin

itswinetime · 24/02/2019 19:32

So just incase the powers that be have a cheeky look in what British designers would people like to see Meghan work? For maternity wear or for post baby. Obviously Stella McCartney we know works for her and I liked the Victoria Beckham dress at Christmas but Who else? Kate has her go to favourites? Who would be on the dream list for Meghan?

Paradyning · 24/02/2019 19:33

The insect clasp on the bag is divine

BartonHollow · 24/02/2019 19:36

British designers

Alice Temperley is British right? I like her stuff

Catherine Walker - I still covet the dress of hers Darcy Bussell wore

Aberforthsgoat · 24/02/2019 19:36

I sometimes ask myself that when I have a particularly unpalatable work task to do @bartonhollow > what would princess anne do? Grin

Also, not following you around I promise!

peridito · 24/02/2019 19:36

BartonHollow Smile Smile

Chardonnay I did wonder what the bump bit under M's left arm was .Is that the puckering seam ?

Royal style & gossip: Megs goes mad in Morocco, Kate keeps cool in Kensington
BartonHollow · 24/02/2019 19:38

You're apparently my twin Aber so it's fine! Grin

Aberforthsgoat · 24/02/2019 19:39

Grin it does seem that way!

PinguDance · 24/02/2019 19:40

It would be nice to see Meghan wear some British designers but I do wonder which ones would suit her style - Kate is virtually a patron of Alexander MacQueen so MM might want to avoid them and I can't see Meghan in Jenny Packham or Temperly. Maybe she'd be more into Vivienne Westwood or Christopher Kane - but maybe they're a bit edgy? I'm sure there are lots of small British designers I don't really know about she could wear but in terms of the 'names' in British fashion I can't see her suiting many. I suppose she could venture out in a Burberry coat every now and again.

Aberforthsgoat · 24/02/2019 19:40

Seeing that picture I don’t love the way the sleeve drapes either

She looks beautiful though, obviously - absolutely
glowing

hopeishere · 24/02/2019 19:45

It's actually growing on me! There is something very odd around the bust though!

PinguDance · 24/02/2019 19:46

lol I'd have to work on my withering put downs if I were to try and channel Princess Margaret!
