New thread for scented discussion, plus cats, teeth, and cats with problem teeth. Everyone welcome, we are as friendly as the title suggests!

Calm, Sleep Knot just arrived, thank you! I'm wearing it on my left wrist and Pillow Talk on my right. They are pretty similar with notes of jasmine, sandalwood and pepper, but SK is warmer, softer and a little 'dirtier', while PT is brighter with orange and yuzu up top. Both are lovely Smile

67chevvyimpala · 06/04/2019 16:47

I've just done an hour of yoga so I want something calming and comforting

MaudBaileysGreenTurban · 06/04/2019 17:23

Oh, I've fallen for Sleep Knot. It dries down to the loveliest, softest, creamiest sandalwood with a hint of vanilla. Blissful. I'm going to order a FB.

67chevvyimpala · 06/04/2019 17:28

😁
I'm in next cashmere

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 06/04/2019 17:57

Just perfume or clothing too Smile

67chevvyimpala · 06/04/2019 18:01

Just perfume! :)
Dh has just told me he "doesn't like it as much" as some of my others...

MaudBaileysGreenTurban · 06/04/2019 18:29

Whilst I'm browsing 4160s...has anyone tried Red Queen?

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 06/04/2019 18:53

SOTD LE No 15. Cosy.

67chevvyimpala · 06/04/2019 19:30

Sote 4160 amberama

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 06/04/2019 19:34

No15 is one of my signature sents which I usually wear Autumn & Winter.
SOTD is Floral Street Chypre Sublime (I'm working my way through my Floral Street Discovery Set).
I like this it smells soft & understated when first sprayed, rosy & violet with a hint of hedge! I don't think there is Jasmine in it but I can smell it and also a hint of expensive lipstick like Chanel. Then it develops into a sosphicated deep rose (Bulgarian or Damask) with a creamy powdery Turkish delight undertone & still that sharp green smell.
It's a feminine, sophisticated & I'm in charge/the boss fragrance.
The same feeling I get when wearing LE No15. Just checked & No 15 & Chypre Sublime both have rose, patchouli & pink pepper in them.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 06/04/2019 20:07

tracy I live in Scotland, it is very much still winter!

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 06/04/2019 20:51

Judy it's gone back to Winter here in the East Midlands yet last week we had one day when it hit the dizzy heights of 18C. DD put her shorts on!

67chevvyimpala · 06/04/2019 21:01

East mids here too.

The weather atm is MAD

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 06/04/2019 21:02

Yes mad but gloriously British!

67chevvyimpala · 06/04/2019 21:07

🤣

Lotsofpots · 06/04/2019 23:03

tracy you reminded me how much I love ylang ylang espresso. Gorgeous. I've been wearing it all day - may have to get a FB.

And an east mids contingent! Not sure I'm based but half my family have roots there so i have a soft spot for it.

CountFosco · 06/04/2019 23:41

SotD Herba Fresca.

The germoline in Nuit de Bakelite is so intriguing. I do love it but did think it might be NSFW. But DH and the DC don't like it so it's NSFH either!

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 07/04/2019 00:12

I'm very intrigued by Nuit de Bakelite from all your descriptions. It's making me think of 1920s silent movies especially the actresses Theda Bara & Pola Negri.
Yay East Mids rule!
I would also like to say that this is one of the most kindest & inclusive threads (aside from the mad Hof Advent Calendar 2017 thread) that I've ever been on in the last 12 years of MN.
Right you lovely lot we need to channel our inner vipers......not!

MotherOfDragonite · 07/04/2019 09:23

SOTD is Hiram Green Shangri La. It's just as magnificent as ever. The children are dragging me off to church Shock

MaudBaileysGreenTurban · 07/04/2019 11:12

SOTD Sleep Knot. I am really enjoying this, although it sits so close to the skin I barely smell it unless I bury my nose in my wrist. Appropriate for the idea behind the scent though, I guess.

Had a brisk early walk in the fog this morning and off for a big roast lunch later. Poor ds is deep in GCSE revision so he gets lunch out as a break Grin

MaudBaileysGreenTurban · 07/04/2019 11:21

Nuit de Bakelite is definitely NSFW, I think! It really is a very unusual and marmite-y scent. But I enjoy most of Naomi Goodsir's creations, although you do need to be in the mood for Bois d'ascese and NdB, imo.

Tracy give them a try - you can get samples from Bloom online. Or de Serail is particularly lovely and would probably be on my FB list, except that it's hideously expensive!

teta · 07/04/2019 11:53

Sotd is Sana Jardin Fleur de la revolution from the Niche box. I think this is my favourite out of all the samples.the longevity however is pants.
Yesterday I wore Vintage Paris and spent two days with no perfume prior to this. Everyone is home including dd1 from Uni and I’m spending my days cooking vast meals😁. I’m Part of the West Mids. Contingent here.
Mother in answer to your rice pudding query I use almond milk in rice pudding because it’s very low in calories. But then rice has such a high glycemic index it might be better to use a high fat milk. Is anyone else totally puzzled by the constant change in dietary advice? Ds1 made the most delicious mashed potato yesterday and put in a third of a pack of butter.🤩

keenwasalad · 07/04/2019 12:29

SOTD is paco rabanne ultraviolet which was MY SCENT back when I was 17 (erm a couple of years ago). Saw it in Superdrug yesterday and couldn't resist a trip down memory lane Grin

67chevvyimpala · 07/04/2019 12:45

Amberama again

MotherOfDragonite · 07/04/2019 14:54

It sounds tasty teta, but I'm not sure it'll make up for the mashed butter potato...

chevvy, I gave in and blind-bought some Amberama. It sounds deluxe.

As it is the weekend, the house looks as if it has been hit by a tornado and the scent of Shangri La is the only thing that remains to remind me that I was once a fully functioning adult who read novels for blissful uninterrupted hours in a clean house on Sundays. Without butter smeared on my top, or lethal trip hazard soft toy piles in the middle of the living room.
