New thread for scented discussion, plus cats, teeth, and cats with problem teeth. Everyone welcome, we are as friendly as the title suggests!

I’ve just cooked Sphag. Bol. too. I honestly didn’t read the thread until now. What is this?
Hive mind?

teta · 03/04/2019 18:15

And I can’t spell - Spaghetti!

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 03/04/2019 18:43

SOTD is FM POAL. I woke up with yet another stinking cold. Dragged myself to meet my friend for lunch, but have cancelled tomorrow’s coffee plans. GOD.

How funny about the writing section of the Venn diagram - and the spaghetti section! I do stuff for our examining body, which is well-paid but not hugely exciting. I like writing case studies though, and try to be creative with names so everyone in them has a first or last name related to a person or animal I know. (One module has names entirely related to cats I have known and loved, and I have a sly snigger that no-one knows that bar me.) It really saved our arses when DP wasn’t working, but now it’s “fun money”. I used to do proper writing when I worked in PR rather than teaching it, and also had a monthly column in a local mag for a while.

Just noticed three new Miller Harris 100mls on TKMaxx for £34.99 -- Citron Citron, Tea Tonique, and La Fumee, for anyone who's interested.

67chevvyimpala · 03/04/2019 18:53

Oh judy not again?
Poor you x
Very impressed with all the talented writers!

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 03/04/2019 18:58

i also used to write...but probably not what you would expect at all. it paid well though tbf but not really one for polite company Wink

i looked on my fragrantica profile and i have 123 full bottles of perfume. that doesn't include any minis or samples. i am the worst/best Grin

Georgianfairy · 03/04/2019 19:00

chevvy the pp dupe of Baccarat Rouge is Card Red.

67chevvyimpala · 03/04/2019 19:06

Thank you x

Lotsofpots · 03/04/2019 19:25

Oooooof. Timeless is gorgeous. It feels perfect for this weather but also, somehow, reminds me of summer. I feel like I may have had a suncream or something with some of the same notes.
God I can't stop sniffing myself.

67chevvyimpala · 03/04/2019 19:33

Marvellous :)

cantbelievemyeyes · 03/04/2019 21:06

SOTD was Centrepiece- got the Parfum strength and I find it quite different from the EDP, much mellower overall. Not sure which I prefer but it's lovely.

I also used to write things for work, and really miss it now I do accounts instead.

Seriously think I need to put myself on a spending ban and/ or hide the Facebook group I keep buying decants from. Just bought 5ml each of Chanel Coromandel and Xerjoff Dolce Amalfi, and have a decant of Atkinsons Mint & Tonic coming which will be nice for holidays.

MotherOfDragonite · 03/04/2019 22:14

There's a Facebook group for decants?!! (Please, somebody hide my purse. No, don't. Let me at them!)

I'd really like to try Coromandel, what is it like? I find it very hard to actually guess from the descriptions/notes but everyone seems to like it.

Sorry about your cold, Judy. I find the thought of your cats sneaking into your module very pleasing...

MotherOfDragonite · 03/04/2019 22:15

I haven't been able to try Timeless yet, Floofy, as By The Fireplace is so incredibly long-lasting even when I wash my wrist! Tomorrow...

67chevvyimpala · 04/04/2019 07:40

Very cold here today.

Sotd pp by the fireplace I think

1frenchfoodie · 04/04/2019 08:07

SOTD is DS&Durga Bowmakers, nice mix of dry, cool wood and leather.

MaudBaileysGreenTurban · 04/04/2019 11:12

SOTD is Intrigant Patchouli by Parfumerie Generale. Patchouli, amber, sandalwood, ginger. Should probably be doing yoga on an Indian hilltop somewhere; instead I am shivering at home under several layers trying to get a bit of work done and failing miserably.

teta · 04/04/2019 11:47

Nerolia bianca for hot yoga.
After shower it will be Patchouli Clouds for the snow.
Maud your perfume sounds very intriguing!
Is it the Fragantica one Can’t?

KaliforniaDreamz · 04/04/2019 12:02

Ooh miller harris, i haven't sniffed those, tho do i blind buy........
am fed up with my bottle of coeur de fleur (yes, yes i know i am boring) but i think it migh be fake as honestly wears off after 4 seconds.

i am updating my CV to try to get a normal job as i an dying being at home alone so much....

but it's a tough time etc

KaliforniaDreamz · 04/04/2019 12:03

1French that sounds really really good......

teta · 04/04/2019 12:08

Coeur de Fleur is notorious for not lasting Kalifornia It’s beautiful for five minutes. I think I marinate myself in it to make it last a bit longer.

KaliforniaDreamz · 04/04/2019 12:12

teta i used to have the body oil and that did last longer.
I love it so much i could marry it.

teta · 04/04/2019 12:28

Oh what a shame it’s not sold any more. I have the la Chasse Aux Papillon Body oil and that’s wonderful too.
Have you tried spraying on top of a oil or Vaseline?

KaliforniaDreamz · 04/04/2019 12:42

i keep an eye of ebay for a bottle to come up.
i will try that - good idea thanks x

MotherOfDragonite · 04/04/2019 17:05

SOTD is Scherzo.

Floofy, I'm afraid that Timeless really didn't suit me! I'm going to try it again when it's warmer in case it's the weather.
