New thread for scented discussion, plus cats, teeth, and cats with problem teeth. Everyone welcome, we are as friendly as the title suggests!

Right now I’m testing a sample of Tauer’s Carillon Pour un ange. The opening is very grassy, veering on unpleasantly so for my nose, but I’m not going to wash it off yet because I want to see how it develops.

67chevvyimpala · 16/02/2019 16:54

Sote next cashmere

CountFosco · 16/02/2019 18:20

SotD SJP Lovely.

Maud you will not regret it. Although I think it's still a bit early in the year for it, wore it in Paris last summer and it was perfect!

MaudBaileysGreenTurban · 16/02/2019 19:38

Count, it's lovely isn't it? A very pretty and simple rose, but with some depth that means it lasts.

MyNameIsFloofyImAPerfumeAddict · 16/02/2019 19:40

Thanks for new thread Judy!

Pots I hope MiniPots is home and happy and you are enjoying the comfort of sleeping in your own bed again.

That photo is very cheering calm

SOTD is the lovely DKNY night from the lovely chevvy. I'm really enjoying this SmileSmile

67chevvyimpala · 16/02/2019 19:59

I'm so glad 😁

67chevvyimpala · 16/02/2019 20:11

I'm now in Avon timeless.

I have another bottle of this on the way as I've already used half the bottle I bought in Jan!

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 16/02/2019 20:47

SOTD FM POAL. Possibly overkill for Pizza Express, but whatever.

Georgianfairy · 17/02/2019 08:12

Sotd is Floral Street Chypre Sublime which appears to be a dupe of POAL! Will be interesting to see if it goes the same musty way as POAL on the drydown.

Lotsofpots · 17/02/2019 09:50

Interesting Georgian - I've not tried that floral street but have enjoyed the ones I have. Black lotus in particular. I just looked through my samples to see which other I've not tried and m placed a feel unique pick n mix order with the rest of the range.

SOTD is floral street wild vanilla orchid. I think it's a bit too sweet for me. I'm increasingly realising that my love for a gourmand, while strong(!), is based on it having some additional depth - something else going on behind the vanilla/coco etc note. Hence I love shay and blue salt caramel, 4160 rhubarb and custard, floral street black lotus, 4160 over the chocolate shop, arquiste anima dulcis.
Will need to see how this dries down, but my initial impression is just a hell of a lot of sweetness.

MaudBaileysGreenTurban · 17/02/2019 09:54

lots, have you tried 4160s White Queen? It's sounds as if that would be right up your street. It's a creamy, floral semi-gourmand with incense, rich and delicious.

Since it's such a lovely day I might go for something green and fresh and springlike - will have a rummage through the Bloom Green Theme samples...

Bluesheep8 · 17/02/2019 11:33

Love these threads. SOTD Jennifer Lopez Still. Not the sort of of scent that usually appeals to me but I like it. It's quite simple and smells to me like green tea and Palma violets. Quite comforting in a way.

Bluesheep8 · 17/02/2019 11:34

Parma violets even!

Bluesheep8 · 17/02/2019 11:35

And it's nice when worn with SJP Lovely, I've discovered.

auberginesrus · 17/02/2019 11:56

Just about to do a tip run and taxi ds1 about, SOTD PP Gucci Envy - fresh and green

ToftheB · 17/02/2019 13:15

Oh @bluesheep, when i googled Earl Grey based perfumes the other day Jennifer Lopez Still came up as an suggestion. It sounds like my sort of thing from your description... I’m on a spending ban for the rest of the month, but I might search it out after that.

67chevvyimpala · 17/02/2019 13:45

Sotd Estee lauder knowing

Bluesheep8 · 17/02/2019 14:05

toftheb it's definitely earl grey tea! I think you'll love it if that's what you're after. Mine is a small bottle of edp. £11 from Morrison's!

teta · 17/02/2019 15:29

Sotd is everything in Lush. I’m visiting eldest Dd at uni and reliving my youth. Halls don’t seem to have changed much in the last 30 years.
Tried Breath of God & Kerbside Violet. Done Yo Sushi & Harvey Nicks which yielded no new perfumes sadly, though sprayed myself with Izia which I love .

Lotsofpots · 17/02/2019 15:37

maud I love White Queen. Holding out for it to be scent of the week so I can buy a full bottle. It doesn't smell like anything else.

MaudBaileysGreenTurban · 17/02/2019 16:36

Chevvy - I almost wore Knowing this morning and thought of you - how weird is that? Grin

Lots, I agree WQ doesn't really smell like anything else, but at the same time to me it smells as if it's been around forever, iyswim? Definitely one of Sarah's triumphs.

I've not got around to wearing any scent today at all. I really need to sort out my collection; I think there are a few bits and bobs that need to go on ebay

67chevvyimpala · 17/02/2019 17:16

maud that makes me very happy :)

I always think of sud when see/spray opium, rive gauche
or samsara :)

67chevvyimpala · 17/02/2019 17:17

I can’t decide if I’d like WQ...I’m not a fan of gourmands usually

MrsSchadenfreude · 17/02/2019 17:22

It is not a sweet gourmand, Chevvy. I also think it smells a bit like Parallel.

SOTD is 4160 An Excess of Carelessness, which I picked up when I was back in London last week. I like it, but don’t love it.

MyNameIsFloofyImAPerfumeAddict · 17/02/2019 17:40

Lots how is your baby?

Teta I read your post and thought Lush were doing perfumes called "Done Yo Sushi" and "Harvey Nicks" BlushGrin I need more sleep! I think a perfume called Harvey Nicks would be fabulous

I love Jennifer Lopez Still! I really rate her perfumes for value. I think in fact Deseo was the first perfume I tried on the recommendation of our first thread! Still love this one, in fact it's one of my Spring favourites.

I also "associate" perfumes with posters here, in fact when I did my name change the addict bit reminded me of chevvy Grin
