Previous thread

And I shouldn't have to say this anymore but will do so for any newbies - let's keep our critiquing to the clothes and not the women wearing them.

Maybe the wider top is to balance the bump? She appears to be quite petite and maybe feels self conscious or that she is 'all bump'.

QueenOfTheAndals · 24/02/2019 06:53

That’s a lot of FCO budget ( tax payer’s money) to spend on an Italian couture coat, when you’re supposed to be promoting Britain

I really can't get too het up about this, especially after Kate's two tone-deaf choices last week (both foreign designers too) showed they all spend ££££ on clothes.

Anyway let's see what Meghan has in store for us over the rest of the weekend - she may have some British designers up her couture sleeves!

I think Meghan looked gorgeous in that red outfit.

I’m sad to see the snarky tone on the BBC website. ‘They arrived in Morocco with an entourage of nine - including a hairdresser’
and ‘She reportedly travelled to New York earlier this month for her luxury baby shower with her friends, including some celebrities.’

It’s horrible, passive aggressive snarkiness. You’d think after what happened to Diana the Press would back off a bit.

certainlymerry · 24/02/2019 07:09

Yes I think the gloves are to match the 60’s vibe. Agree she had too much in her hands, and they would have been better in her bag. But then I think she’s carrying them as a statement and didn’t seem to wear them? She could have worn them to shake hands when she arrived.
Her make up is great, but she wears far too much bronzer.

QueenOfTheAndals · 24/02/2019 07:25

I'm pretty sure all the royal women travel with a hairdresser. I don't think Kate wakes up with those bouncy locks!

MM knows she is being photographed and the photos syndicated worldwide. You need heavier makeup and more of it to look good in flash photography. She knows her stuff.

hopeishere · 24/02/2019 07:51

Does the Queen travel with a hairdresser or does her dresser just do it for her?

QueenOfTheAndals · 24/02/2019 07:53

Her dresser probably does it for her but I doubt Kate and Meghan have dressers. They're quite capable of putting their clothes on themselves!

OP posts:
ElspethFlashman · 24/02/2019 08:13

Her dresser does it. But it's easy so doesn't require a hairdresser. It's just rollers.

I never begrudge a hairdresser on trips. It makes a massive difference. Kates hair is superb and it's such an asset in terms of looking well turned out that you'd be mad to resent the cost.

I have often said that the one thing stopping Sophie from a really amazing look is her hair. She seems to do it herself. So she just puts it up in a ponytail or a roll.

I imagine she just doesn't want to spend the money, but Sophie with a hairstylist would be sensational. She'd look so glam. And would definitely get more coverage I suspect.

Honestly I sometimes want to write her a letter that says "Babylis Big Hair - look into it, Soph"

Hairydilemma · 24/02/2019 08:15

Lottielady I read the BBC piece and thought the exact same thing as you about those two sentences.

Mean-spirited and there’s no need for it - you’d hope the BBC would be above Fail-style sniping but it seems not...

Some of the comments on the Royal Family’s fb post are absolutely shocking.

By contrast the Uk Ambassdor to Morocco who met them off the plane tweeted something like ‘they are the nicest and most charming people he’s ever met’. Appreciate he’s hardly going to slag off her glove etiquette but his is at least a first-hand opinion.

QueenOfTheAndals · 24/02/2019 08:30

Some of the comments on the Royal Family’s fb post are absolutely shocking.

There's a twitter or Instagram account called something like Megxit which is devoted to "exposing Meghan for who she truly is" 🙄 Whoever runs it addresses each post to HM (because checking Twitter is her priority for the day) and sounds quite deranged. I've not seen anything like it apart from those Tumblrs "revealing the truth" about CP Mary and those have now died down.

If I could have one beauty treatment on a daily basis it would be a professional blowdry, so I can't begrudge Meghan and Kate their hairdressers!

I love the dress and Harry is in Tropical Formal.

QueenOfTheAndals · 24/02/2019 08:48

Tropical Formal is a good way of describing it although I doubt the weather in Morocco is currently very tropical, especially if they're going into the mountains today!

One day off this thread and it's gone mad! Love Megan's dress (I know! Twice in a week!).

Looking forward to a new thread Queen and hopefully everyone will "play nice" Wink

I have often said that the one thing stopping Sophie from a really amazing look is her hair

Sophie is looking sartorially splendid these days though, she used to look a bit drab. I wonder if she has a stylist now.

I don’t even notice her hair though, since when I see photos of her, there’s usually a hat on top!
