Getting back to the fashion/ style - I don't like Jessica Mulrooney's coat. It wore her rather than the other way around.

queen yup, had to google it though. She's talked about it in interviews apparently and said it's a problem in her role but I can't find an original interview to link to (it was in a specialist magazine). It's apparently more common among dyslectic people (which she is, as is her father).

@beanaseireann She did, but social media is often just for show when you're an actor as you have to project a certain image. Lots of them do it. She wasn't to know she'd one day meet Harry and come under this sort of scrutiny.

One thing I'd forgotten about CPV is that she was anorexic when she was younger. She's talked about it quite a lot. The doctors suggested she start going to the gym to train and that's how she met Daniel!

So it turns out the NY trip is a bit more staged than we imagined.

She has set up a media camp in the hotel. "Media is being accommodated". This has led to people wondering why the media were being accommodated so much and why she exited out the front door with formal media section set up as opposed to just exiting out the basement car park. And why she was having lunch at the Polo Lounge which is the most public place ever. It smelt like a PR stunt.

Also Harpers Bazaar was randomly the outlet that got the "scoop" that this baby shower was happening. HB do not get scoops! What was going on???

So some digging was done and TA DAHH! It's all publicity for a Harpers Bazaar photo shoot she's doing whilst in NY.

So it's all a PR stunt. And whilst she's in NY she's killing two birds with one stone and having a baby shower.

It is a perfectly fine move for an actress. It is surprising for a Royal.

Meghan is taking part in a photo shoot for Harpers Bazaar? That's very odd. What's the source for that story? I can't imagine the Palace would sanction a magazine shoot!

And didn't Beatrice and Eugenie do a magazine shoot?

I suppose the difference is that they didn't essentially do a PR tour to promote it. This is looking increasingly like a 5 day publicity opportunity.

Like I said, all fine for an actress. Normal even. Its just a different type of PR than we're used to seeing from the RF.

Harpers Bazaar reported it to Page Six. After the actual NY trip was scooped.

The "scooper" was a HB contributer called Omid Scobie.

And Meghan is doing a publicity shoot why?
To look good in the American media? (Er why?)
She is a member of the British royal family and bankrolled by the British taxpayer.

You could look at it 2 ways though couldn't you she wanted to go to us and see friends and family she was going to be followed by the press and so worked with the media to have some kind of control the odd agreed to place and time in exchange for privacy at other times. Or a calculated pr move although I don't see any particular positive spin being pushed.

Even if it is some calculated PR stunt I can't get to worked up about it! Yes she is a British royal but isn't part of their job to have a profile around the world including the USA. As for who's paying is it the tax payer? Is she using her own money? Who knows but their were reports last week of Harry racking up 30 grand hotel and bar bills so I doubt she's costing us more than that.
